Chapter 269 Together Through Thick and Thin

"Honey, I swear Ella's definitely straight!"

Freya swore an oath.

Ella would be furious if she knew Bradley thought of her that way!

"Even if she is, keep your distance from her in the future."

He felt threatened by how close she had been to his wife.

"She's my assistant, I need her help for a lot of stuff. How can I not be close to her? Plus, she's totally normal, no need to be suspicious."

Freya tried to reason with him, his petty thoughts getting on her nerves.

Bradley's sharp eyes met hers, "So, you have to be close to her?"

Freya bit her lip, nodding cautiously.

"You make me uneasy." He pinched his brow, getting more irritated. "It's fine if you talk to her, but help her find a guy."

Freya was confused, "Find who?"

She didn't think his condition was this serious, triggering a crisis with anyone.

"There are plenty of guys in town, anyone will do. If that doesn't work, there's always Gabriel and Xavier, they're both single. Just pick one of them." His tone was impatient. "Or do you plan on sticking with her? Then I'll have to take action and lock you up at home."

Freya shivered.

She knew Bradley's capable of anything right now.

Gathering her courage, she said, "If I have to reach out to your friends, I can't handle it alone without your help."

"Fine, I'll handle it. You just pick one."

"Dr. Jackson, then."

Freya didn't hesitate at all.

Apart from using his hands for violence, Gabriel himself was also incredibly cold, grim, and intimidating.

Ella also had a solitary and cold demeanor. If they became a couple, would they end up committing murder together?

Just the thought alone was terrifying.

Xavier was more stable and he was a doctor. Since Ella was into medicine too, they would have something in common.

Freya picked him without a second thought.

"Okay, Xavier it is. I'll call him now and tell him to pursue Ella."

Bradley called Xavier right away.

Xavier was surprised by the task of pursuing Ella.

"Wait Bradley, I haven't even thought about dating."

"Well, start thinking. You've got a month to chase her. If you can't, you're off to an island."

Freya felt intimidated as she listened to his domineering and paranoid orders, realizing how frightening he could be when he got stubborn.

She hurriedly called Ella and briefly explained the situation.

"He's got delusional jealousy, sees everyone as a rival. Just hang in there. If you're not into Dr. Jackson, just treat him like a friend."

"What? He sees me as a rival?"

"Ella, he's sick. Don't sweat it. I'm already finding ways to manage his behavior."

They chatted for a bit, then Freya got a weird vibe, saying, "I'll call you later," and hung up.

Bradley loomed behind her, eyeing her like a hawk.

Freya blinked, "Honey, is everything settled?"

"Yeah, he's gonna handle Ella in a month. If you need anything, just call me, I'll be there."

The CEO looked dead serious, his tense features gave off a strong vibe of masculine appeal.

Freya tightened her lips.

She had to get that poison quick so Sean could whip up the antidote.

Otherwise, this man would definitely treat everyone in the world as enemies.

"Damn, my man's so amazing!"

She wrapped her arms around his neck, acting spoiled.

He lifted her up, his icy eyes seemed to hold countless stars, captivating her heart completely.

He leaned in, his warm breath against her skin.

Feeling the vibe, Freya spoke up, "I'm starving, let's eat."

"Sure thing, we'll have a romantic dinner downstairs and come back later."

Even if it meant delaying, he had to make sure she ate well to keep her strength up.

He carried her downstairs, sent Frederick and Rosa away and settled her in a dining chair.

Even though she claimed she wasn't hungry, Rosa had prepared dinner just in case.

The food was still hot and Bradley himself brought them to the table, lighting up a couple of candles.

Freya observed him bustling around and felt a strange feeling stirring within her.

In just these two days, Bradley had really changed.

He used to be all dominant, but now he was sticking to her like glue.

She hardly ever got to see him busy for her sake. He was born a noble prince, always moved with elegance.

She couldn't help but think, if it weren't for Juliet's interference, maybe she wouldn't have figured out his true identity so soon.

The thought of his background made Freya ache inside.

He carried the weight of restoring the nation, moving forward cautiously with no room for error. One wrong move could cost him everything.

He was carrying a huge burden on his shoulders, destined for an extraordinary life.

Before, she had been considering leaving him, but now, as she spent more time with him, her heart had completely surrendered.

She couldn't imagine leaving him now.

Despite whatever difficulties might arise in the future, they were already married and should face everything together, through thick and thin, till death do them part.

Lost in her thoughts, Freya's eyes grew slightly moist.

Bradley served her a bowl of soup and then sat across from her.

Freya was truly starving. The constant running back and forth had left her completely drained and with Rosa's cooking being so good, she quickly finished a bowl of soup in no time.

Bradley, however, had no appetite. He simply watched her eat, holding a glass of red wine, his gaze deep and contemplative.

The atmosphere was calm and lovely.

The soft yellow light enveloped the two, painting them in layers of romantic shades.

Once Freya finished eating, she leaned back satisfied and rested her chopsticks.

Bradley didn't say anything, he strolled over instead and said, "Alright, time to get back to business."

"Well, if you've got stuff to do, then go ahead and do it."

Right at that moment, she was just thinking of finding an opening to sneak out and get the poison from Juan.

Bradley suddenly decided it was time to get to work, which suited her just fine.

"You're coming with me."

With that, he lifted her from the dining chair and headed towards the stairs.

"No need, you go ahead and do your thing. I won't be much help by your side."

"How can I do things if you're not by my side, hmm?"

A slight smirk appeared on his lips, with a glint of mischief in his eyes.

Freya's mind went blank for a moment, realizing this wasn't just about work. Her face suddenly flushed red.

She balled her fists, playfully thumping his chest. "Bradley, you're so naughty."

"Don't they say women love bad boys? If I'm not a bit naughty, how can I make you behave?"

He turned into a character straight out of a novel, a domineering CEO with cheesy lines. Freya stared at him dumbfounded.

As if it were the first time she'd ever seen him.

"I'm full, but I could use a walk. I don't want to be too stuffed. "

She pursed her lips, her fingers tightly clutching his collar, as she plotted her escape.
