Chapter 289 Shadowfang Jade Whistle and Poppy

What he couldn't understand the most was why he didn't have any aversion to Poppy!

What's going on here?

"Sorry, I was drugged, which led to my offense against you." Bradley's gaze swept toward Sharon on the ground, filled with hostility.

Freya bit her sore lip, adjusted her hair slightly, and said, "What's the use of an apology? Can apologies cover up what you did to me just now? If I remember correctly, Mr. Austin, you're married, aren't you?"

The words "Mr. Austin, you're married, aren't you?" filled Bradley with guilt.

He actually had acted frivolously with a woman other than Freya.

"Forget it, we're all adults here. I won't take it to heart. If there's nothing else, I'll leave."

As she said this, she turned to leave.

Just then, Bradley called out to her, "Wait."

"What, is there anything else?"

Her expression was cold, her face calm, with just a hint of blush.

Especially with swollen lips and bloodstains, confirming how rough he had been with her just now.

Bradley felt irritated and clenched his fists, saying, "I went too far. You can demand compensation from me."

"No need, I just hope that Mr. Bradley won't bother me in the future."

She just wanted to leave now. The longer she stayed, the more danger she faced of exposure.

Moreover, Bradley was drugged; who knows if he'll go crazy again.

She had to quickly get help for him.

Seeing her determined to leave, Bradley didn't force her.

But he still reminded her, "Miss Nichols, if you need anything in the future, I'll do my best to help, but please... keep today's incident a secret from my wife. I don't want her to be upset."

"Don't worry, only you, me, the heavens, and the earth know about it. No one else knows."

With these words, Freya walked out of the CEO's office.

Harry was waiting outside. When he saw her coming out, he respectfully smiled, "Miss Poppy."

"Your CEO has been drugged. Quickly find a doctor for him."

Harry was stunned at this.

The CEO was drugged?

He didn't waste any time and rushed in.

He had been too focused on kissing that he hadn't noticed Sharon on the ground.

Now that he saw her, his face immediately changed.

This woman, wasn't she supposed to have left already? Why was she still here?

"Call Xavier and ask him to come over immediately."

"Yes, Sir."

Harry didn't dare to delay and immediately made the call.

Bradley touched his lips, still faintly smelling of Poppy.

He didn't know what had happened. In his hazy consciousness just now, he felt like he was holding Freya, which was absurd.

Clearly, they were two different people.

But nestled in his arms, he felt like he was holding the same person.

Bradley really felt like he was going crazy.

Annoyed, he loosened his tie, preparing to take a cold shower to cool off.

As he stood up, his attention was suddenly drawn to a familiar object on the sofa.

Is that…

A jade whistle?

Shadowfang Jade Whistle?

He immediately picked up the jade whistle and carefully looked at the patterns on it, which were carved with the name "Leo."

This was his jade whistle.

But why was it here?

Apart from Harry, there were only Poppy and Sharon who had entered his office.

He gave the Shadowfang Jade Whistle to a girl back then, so Harry could be completely ruled out.

In other words, that girl could be either Poppy or Sharon?

Sharon remained unconscious, and the woman who had just been entangled with him on the sofa was Poppy.

Realizing this, Bradley's nerves tightened.

He quickly picked up his phone and made a call.

"Lock down the entire Austin Group. Don't let anyone leave."

Freya stepped out of the elevator and headed towards the main entrance, but she was intercepted by security.

"The CEO has ordered that no one is allowed to step out of the Austin Group's gate."

What's going on?"

Freya was taken aback.

Why was Austin Group being locked down for no reason?

Was Bradley going crazy again?

"Sorry, we're only carrying out orders. Everything will be explained when the CEO arrives."

The security guard maintained a serious expression.

Seeing everyone being stopped, Freya felt increasingly uneasy.

But if the security didn't let her leave, she couldn't go.

So she decided to sit down nearby, cross-legged, and started playing games on her phone.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

It was a call from Sean.

"Freya, my grandfather suddenly called me and said he wants to leave home. I have to fly out to see him. Do you want to come with me?"

"What's going on? Why is he leaving home for no reason?"

Sean sighed, "Who knows, he's been like this, making trouble every now and then."

"Okay, wait for me. I'll come over to meet you right away."

If Hayden Barnes left home, how would she find him later?

She had to figure out a way to keep him from leaving!

Freya hung up the phone.

She looked at the main entrance, surrounded by a group of security guards, realizing that leaving openly was impossible.

She went to the restroom and left through the window.

Just then, the CEO's private elevator opened, and Bradley walked out of it.

"Where's Poppy?"

The security guards looked at each other.

They received orders not to let anyone leave, but they hadn't heard anything about Poppy.

The head of security stepped forward, nodding respectfully, "CEO, during this half-hour period, no one has entered or left Austin Group."

Bradley frowned, carefully scanning the entire scene, clenching his fists in anger.

"Pull up all the surveillance footage and find Poppy for me."

The girl he had been searching for seven years turned out to be Poppy.

Heaven was playing a huge joke on him.

The person was right in front of him, and yet he knew nothing.

If she hadn't suddenly dropped the Shadowfang Jade Whistle, how many more years would he have had to spend to find her?

The reason for locking down the Austin Group without explicitly stating to catch Poppy was because they were worried that the woman would disguise herself and escape again.

But she still managed to leave right under his nose.

Soon, Harry retrieved the surveillance footage.

The video showed that Poppy did appear in the lobby. She sat in the lounge area making a phone call and then headed towards the direction of the restroom.

Seeing this, Bradley stood up and commanded Harry.

"Send someone to the restroom to find her!"

"Yes, Sir."

Five minutes later, Harry returned with a report.

"Sir, there's no one in the women's restroom, but the window is open."

Damn it!

She left through the window!

"Search everywhere, deploy all personnel, we must find her for me!"

At this moment,

Freya arrived at the farmhouse.

Sean had already prepared everything and was waiting for her.

As she got out of the car, Sean walked up to her and asked, "Are you sure you want to come with me? Aren't you afraid your husband will be jealous?"

"What's there to be jealous about? I'm going to help him find the antidote. Stop talking nonsense, let's go quickly. If Great Great Uncle really leaves home, where else can I find him?"

"Okay, Freya, the helicopter is ready. Let's board."
