Chapter 293 Breaking into Austin Corporation

As Freya made her escape, she quickly dialled Ella's number.

"I'm surrounded at Austin Corp. I didn't disguise myself. Help me take out their power supply."

Ella received the command and immediately got to work on her computer.

In less than a minute, the entire Austin Corporation building lost power.

Freya swiftly took down several guards and leaped to the next floor from the staircase.

The commotion immediately alerted Harry, who had promptly informed Bradley.

The man, who was still sleeping, woke up only to find the space beside him empty.

"Freya?" He called out, but received no response. His dark eyes furrowed deeply.

The phone kept on ringing, and he finally picked it up. "What's going on?"

"Sir, someone has broken into your office."

Bradley was just waking up, and at first, he was puzzled. But as he realized what was happening, he spoke in a deep voice.

"Catch her. Don't let her escape."

"Yes, sir."

For some reason, his first thought was Poppy!

Did she drop something and came to retrieve it?

Bradley quickly got dressed and left while calling Freya.

That damn woman, where did she run off to again?

Meanwhile, Freya was grappling with the security guards when her phone rang.

She glanced at it and felt her heart sink.

Damn it, the man had discovered she was missing.

She didn't dare to answer, allowing it to ring incessantly as she figured of ways to get out of there quickly.

Bradley was probably on his way here now. If he caught her, she wouldn't be able to escape from his grasp even if she had the ability to fly.

With all the security mobilized and Harry living nearby, he arrived quickly.

Freya was soon surrounded.

"How dare you break into Austin's Corp! Get her!"

Freya narrowed her eyes. Things had gotten complicated.

She didn't expect such a commotion.

She checked the time and estimated that Bradley would arrive soon.

Without further ado, she pulled out a pistol from her body and grabbed one of the guards, threatening fiercely, "Back off, or I'll kill him!"

This pistol was given to her by Gabriel.

She had always kept it with her, and tonight she happened to bring it out.

Seeing her with the gun, everyone dared not to move recklessly.

Freya backed away with the guard, and everyone closed in on her.

To settle things quickly, she aimed the gun at the ceiling and fired a shot, scaring all the guards into surrendering.

"Any nearer, and I'll kill him."

Worried that she might actually hurt someone, Harry and his men kept their distance.

Freya retreated to the second floor, pushing the guard and swiftly escaping through the window.

"After her! Quick!" Harry ordered.

The boss had said that she must not be allowed to escape.

He wouldn't be able to explain.

The guards rushed into the dark night, but the figure of the intruder was nowhere to be seen.

Bradley arrived soon after.

"Where is she?"

"She... has already... escaped." Harry replied, head bowed, unable to meet his gaze.

Bradley's face turned extremely ugly. "With so many guards, you couldn't catch one person? What's the use of keeping all of you?"

He pressed his temples, his pent-up frustration evident, veins bulging on his forehead.

Quickly, he took the elevator to his office and inspected the surroundings.

Everything had been tampered with, but nothing was missing.

"The intruder is a woman, and she's very skilled. She had a gun and even took one of our men hostage, so…"

"That's enough. Strengthen the defence. If there's a next time, all of you will be fired."

He had crossed paths with Poppy before, and he knew she was formidable. These guards were no match for her, which was somewhat understandable.

He didn't delve into the matter further because he knew that Poppy would eventually show up on her own.

As long as the Shadowfang Jade Whistle hadn't been found, she would try various methods to get close to him.

He wasn't afraid of not being able to catch her!

At that moment, his phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, he quickly answered the call.

A soft voice came from the other end, "Honey, I can't find you!"

"Freya, where did you go?" His voice carried a hint of nervousness.

"I got thirsty and went to drink water. I accidentally entered the wrong room, and fell asleep there."

Upon hearing this, his raging anger dissipated in an instant.

"I'll be right back. Wait for me at home."

"Okay, I'll wait for you in the room."

At this moment, Freya was standing at the gate of Royal Garden Mansion, breathing a sigh of relief after hanging up the phone.

She had almost exposed herself.

"Freya, what were you doing at Austin Corp in the middle of the night?" Ella crossed her arms, squinting at her with interest.

"Do you remember my Shadowfang Jade Whistle? I dropped it."

"Did you drop it at Austin Corp?"

"Yeah, I went to see him as Poppy, and he suddenly went crazy and... well, anyway, the jade whistle is lost."

Freya felt a headache coming on. If it really was picked up by Bradley, she couldn't just ask for it back. She would expose herself as Poppy.

But if she didn’t, how could she get the whistle?

"You're too careless. What are you going to do now?"

Ella understood the importance of that jade whistle, coupled with Freya's special identity, handling this matter was quite tricky.

"I'll try to probe Bradley first. If the jade whistle is really in his hands, I'll find a way to get it back."

"Okay, be careful."

After they parted ways, Freya sneaked into the villa. Just then, Bradley's car arrived.

He hurriedly went upstairs, pushed open the door, and saw the little woman sleeping soundly on the bed.

He approached quietly, bending down to inspect her face.

She was sleeping soundly, with a faint smile on her face.

He reached out to tuck her loose hair behind her ear, leaning down to place a kiss on her forehead.

Freya slowly opening her eyes and reaching out to hug his neck.

"Honey, where did you go in the middle of the night?"

"There was a thief at the office, so I went to check the situation."

He took off his suit, changed into a robe, and climbed into bed to hold her.

Freya obediently snuggled into his arms, like a well-behaved little cat.

"You've had a rough time. Go to sleep."

Her voice grew softer and softer, and soon she fell asleep again.

Bradley was also tired. Smelling the fragrance on her, he soon fell asleep too.

Everything returned to calm.

When she heard the man's breathing become steady, Freya got up and started searching through his clothes.

However, she still couldn't find the jade whistle.

At that moment, the man opened his eyes in his sleep, silently approached her, and reached out to hug her.

"Argh! A ghost!!"
