Chapter 301 Honey, I Miss You

"Yes, I know how to treat it. That's why I brought you out to gather the herbs. The combination of external and internal treatment with acupuncture therapy, I guarantee the illness will be cured."

Upon hearing this, Freya's eyes immediately lit up.

Acupuncture was her area of expertise.

She had always thought Hayden was a doctor who only focused on modern medicine. She had not expected him to have knowledge of traditional medicine as well.

It seems Hayden had been hiding his talents.

However, she was currently known as Sue, a woman with average medical skills and did not understand acupuncture.

Thus, she had to pretend to be ignorant. "I want to learn acupuncture. Can you teach me?"

"Are you really willing to learn?" Hayden was surprised.

All this time, she had not shown much talent when it came to medicine and had little interest in the field. Thus, she had always been mediocre.

However, she was now asking to learn acupuncture. It truthfully surprised him.

He immediately agreed. "Okay. My eyesight is not very good, and I can't even hold a needle steady now. Sean and Xavier both focus on modern medicine and aren't well-versed in acupuncture. If you are willing to learn, I will leave that bit to you."

"Don't worry. I'll study hard and not disappoint you."

Freya reassuringly thumped her chest.

Hayden nodded with relief.

As they walked, Hayden kept talking to Freya about the essence of traditional medicine.

She understood all that he said, but she still put on an earnest face that made her look eager to learn.

Seeing her determination, Hayden told her to go back and started teaching her to recognize acupoints.

Freya immediately understood what he taught her, and her movements were so skilled that it was rather unbelievable.

"Sue, you are indeed a genius in traditional medicine. If you study well, you will definitely achieve great things."

Freya blinked and said, "I don't know what's going on. As soon as you say it, I understood it. Maybe it's due to the good genetics in our family that has nurtured my exceptional ability to remember things at a glance."

"In the past, you were the one who liked to be lazy. If you started studying seriously earlier, you would definitely be more outstanding now."

"Back then, you were around while I was young and only liked to play all the time. I couldn't stand being stuck at home, doing needlework and working on medicine. Things are different now. I have a family, and my husband is sick. I need to be good at medicine as soon as possible to cure his illness."

Freya solemnly said that as she needed to let Hayden know that no matter how much he tested Bradley, she could never go on living without Bradley.

"What is it about him that has you so devoted?"

Hayden sternly looked at her. "Be honest. Did you just fall for his good looks, wealth, and power?"

"No, he really treats me well. I feel safe when I'm with him."

Freya recalled the moments they shared and for the first time, inexplicably felt the urge to confide in someone.

The conversation stirred up many memories for Hayden as well.

In the end, his eyes turned red. "Don't be fooled by a man's appearance. In this world, eight out of ten men are fickle, especially wealthy men. They are even more unreliable."

"Tell me about you and your wife." Freya felt that the reason why Hayden's memory remained at the age of 38 was largely due to his inability to accept his wife's death.

However, one must always look forward and not dwell in the past.

"You mean Yana, right? Yana went into the mountains and hasn't come back yet. I need to go find it."

With that said, Hayden set aside his work and hurried out the door.

His reaction made Freya realized that she had misspoken.

Sean had said that Hayden's wife was his weakness. Why did Freya mention her for no good reason?

Now, Hayden had run off into the woods to find someone. Hopefully nothing bad would happen.

Freya felt anxious and wanted to go after him, to persuade him to come back.

Just as she stepped out of the yard, she bumped into Bradley and Xavier on their way back.

"Dr. Jackson, you're back just in time. Great Uncle said he's going to fetch his wife home. He has entered the woods himself. You must go find him."

Xavier nodded and put down his basket before dashing away.

Now, only Freya and Bradley were left in the yard.

As Hayden was not there, Bradley did not hold back and hugged Freya.

"Honey, I miss you."

Freya said in exasperation, "We spend every day together. We're always bumping into each other. How long has it been since we parted that you miss me?"

"I do miss you. My whole body is restless if I can't hug or kiss you."

As he spoke, he eagerly moved to kiss her.

Freya quickly pushed him away. "Don't do this. Even though Great Uncle is out, we still have Sean here. It'll be bad if he sees us."

"Then, let's go back to our room!"

Without saying another word, he picked her up and rushed up the stairs.

He spent the whole night tossing and turning, unable to sleep. His wife slept under the same roof, yet he was unable to see or touch her. He was almost being driven crazy.

Upon entering the bedroom, Bradley immediately pressed her down on the couch and passionately kissed her.

The furniture in the small wooden cabin was all made of wood, and they creaked with every movement.

The creaking made Freya's face flush as her heart raced even harder.

"Honey, that's enough. Stop it."

She pushed at him with her hands.

Bradley was unwilling to let her go, as if he wanted to devour her instead. It almost felt like his actions were no longer under his conscious control.

The sight of him becoming more and more unrestrained made Freya anxious, so she bit him.

Bradley winced in pain, finally releasing her.

Freya took a deep breath. Her face was flushed with her lips slightly swollen.

She looked so seductive and tempting that it felt even harder for Bradley to hold back.

Soon, he was clinging to her again.

"Freya, don't push me away."

The waiting was too much for him. He just wanted to hold onto her.

"No, Great Uncle will be back soon. If he sees us, he will be angry."

Hayden had a strange temper, and he was both stubborn and obstinate.

She was really worried about angering him, fearing that he would decide to ignore them and forget about curing Bradley.

"They're in the mountains. It will take a while for them to return."

Bradley's temper had flared up, and he was being extremely clingy. Soon, he was hugging her and kissing her.

The wooden couch creaked as if it was providing background music for their activities.

Freya hid in the man's arms with red cheeks as her heart started beating irregularly and rapidly.

Sean had just returned from the garden after watering the plants. Being covered in soil made him uncomfortable, so he was about to head back in to change his clothes.

From a distance, he heard the noises coming from the nearby room.

It is still day. What could be making that noise?

Curious, he approached and gently pushed the door open. He found the two people in the room with bright blushes on their faces.

"I-I didn't see anything. Please continue…"

Sean stuttered as he received a fierce look from Bradley that caused him to tremble for a few moments before slipping away without a trace.

Startled by the sudden interruption, Freya felt too embarrassed to look anyone in the eye.

She buried her head in the blankets like an ostrich with her face burning hot.

Meanwhile, Bradley was in a great mood as he lay on his side next to her and pulled her into his arms.
