Chapter 302 Might Really Think It's Human

"I kept thinking of you last night and couldn't sleep. Nap with me for a while."

He was really tired and soon closed his eyes.

When she heard his steady breathing, Freya quietly slipped out of made.

However, as soon as she moved, his hand grabbed her and forcefully pinned her against him.

"Freya, don't try to run."

He held her so tightly that it was as if he was afraid she would leave him.

Perhaps it was because he was beside her and the fact that she had not slept well last night. She fell asleep too.

When she woke up, it was already noon.

Upon hearing crackling sounds coming from downstairs, Freya quickly went down to take a look.

Sean was busy cooking in the kitchen, and the sound she just heard was from him knocking over a pot.

"Sean, are you going to demolish the house?"

"No one can do that better than you two. The noise you made upstairs could be heard crystal clear down here."

Freya blushed.

That was awkward.

The sound insulation of the wooden house was too poor with every move made upstairs audible to everyone downstairs.

"I say, Freya, your husband is impressive."

"Shoo! Keep talking nonsense and I might sew up your mouth."

"You'll do it but not admit it. When Grandpa returns, I'm going to tell on you."

"Don't…"

"I can keep a secret. You just have to cook lunch."

Sean had not cooked for years. Now, his grandfather was making him tend the fields, water the plants, and cook as well. That is too hard for me.

Freya worried about him letting the secret slip. After all, Sean's mouth was the hardest to predict and stop. Her only choice was to obediently help him out.

It was not until noon that Xavier and Hayden returned.

Just as Freya brought the dishes to the table, a figure suddenly zoomed past her, and a dish disappeared from the table.

"Who's there?"

She narrowed her eyes, warily scanning the room. Apart from the few of them, she did not see any unfamiliar faces.

At that moment, something fell from the roof.

Freya looked up and saw a monkey clinging to the beam as it ate from a plate.

"Yana, come down quickly. You might fall!"

Hayden walked over and said to the monkey.

The monkey made a few sounds before dropping the plate and jumping into Hayden's arms.

Yana?

Freya was stunned.

Yana was his wife, right? How did she turn into a monkey?

Sean whispered to her, "My grandfather raised this monkey, also named Yana. They have been together for several years with my grandfather pouring all his longing for my grandmother into this monkey. Last time we came, my grandfather was anxious to leave because the monkey ran away."

Freya was speechless.

Does this mean the monkey is female?

During the meal, everyone gathered together, even Yana the monkey, taking a seat at the table.

It was obvious that Hayden cared a lot for this monkey, and the monkey also obeyed him.

Hayden asked it to wash its hands, and it did. When he asked it to sit down, it did that too.

Moreover, the monkey seemed human as it could even eat with chopsticks and a spoon.

If it were not for its fur, Freya might have thought it was a human.

After the meal was over.

Hayden settled the monkey down and then called Bradley to the room.

Freya also followed along to help with the acupuncture therapy.

Hayden first took Bradley's pulse to assess Bradley's health.

"Your qi is unstable and prone to restlessness. Do you often feel intense headaches, chest pains, and shortness of breath?"

Bradley nodded.

"This venom can damage your internal organs, and combined with the high dosage, it could lead to the impulse to kill. Still, it's okay, I know how to cure it. Just work with me."

Hayden solemnly wrote down the prescription and handed it to Freya.

"Sue, prepare the medication according to this prescription. Boil it three times a day, and also administer acupuncture therapy. It can help alleviate his episodes of mania."

"Okay. I'll get it sorted now."

Freya was about to leave with the prescription when Hayden stopped her.

"Don't rush. The herbs in this prescription are quite special. Do you know them all? Be careful not to mix up the medicines. It could cause trouble."

After hearing that, Freya realized that she was now Sue.

She had heard of Grandma mixing up the medications, causing people to have upset stomachs. It almost tarnished the reputation of the Lawson family.

"These were all collected by Xavier in the morning. He knows them all. Just go find him. He will guide you."

"Okay. I'll go right away."

Freya quickly left.

The medicinal herbs might be unique, but she frequently saw them in the mountains, so they were not that rare to her.

After she had collected all the herbs needed, Freya returned.

Hayden checked the herbs and nodded. "Well done. There are no mistakes in any of the herbs. Sue, you really learn fast."

Freya modestly said, "It's all thanks to your good teaching. A great teacher produces excellent students!"

After confirming the herbs were correct, Freya decided to stay and learn acupuncture. Thus, she handed over the task of decocting the medicine to Xavier.

At that moment, Hayden prepared to treat Bradley with acupuncture.

As he was getting older and his eyesight was failing, he hesitated before finally handing the needle to Freya.

"Sue, you do it."

Hayden directed Freya on how to insert the needles into specific acupoints. Freya listened carefully with each needle accurately hitting the right spot.

Hayden squinted, surprised at how precise she was.

Freya worried that he would suspect something, so she pretended to be confused, saying, "Did I hit the right spot?"

"Yes. Well done."

Hayden did not think much about it, just assumed she was great at picking up new skills. Thus, he let her do as she pleased.

The treatment lasted for an hour. While Hayden waited, he actually fell into a deep sleep.

Bradley took advantage of this opportunity to hug Freya, even kissing her twice.

Exasperated, Freya reached out and pushed him away, saying, "Disgusting."

Bradley wanted to kiss her again, but just as he was about to, Hayden suddenly muttered in his sleep, "Sue, you can remove the needles now."

"Okay."

Freya pushed Bradley away and removed all the needles from his body.

At that moment, Xavier entered the room with a bowl of medicinal soup.

The strong herbal aroma was very pungent.

One glance and Bradley was scowling.

"This looks very bitter,”

He had always been afraid of taking medicine, especially traditional medicine. As soon as he caught a whiff of the smell, he felt restless and uncomfortable.

"The best medicine tastes bitter. You have to drink it to cure your illness."

Freya handed him the medicine, signaling for him to drink it all.

Bradley kept his mouth shut as he refused to drink it.

Finally, he relented. "Feed me."

Upon hearing that, Xavier quickly retreated from the room. His presence was unnecessary.

Freya could not stand his behavior.

He used to flirt openly and confidently, but now he would pretend to be innocent and wronged. She just could not resist.

In the end, she caved in with a compromise.

"Open your mouth and finish it all. Don't waste a single drop."
