Chapter 306 Life Needs a Romantic Touch

Soon, Xavier rushed over.

"Quick, carry them back. I suspect they have also been injected with the poison."

Xavier immediately put Sean on his back and quickly left the woods.

Freya was preparing to leave with the woman when suddenly she saw a syringe beside the woman and picked it up.

Back at the cabin.

Hayden had already checked on Sean and confirmed that he had been injected with poison.

Fortunately, it was discovered early, and the poison had not entered his organs. After being given some medicine to expel the toxins, Sean was fine.

As for the woman Freya brought back, her situation was likely similar.

However, her lower leg was injured, and the excessive bleeding caused her to fall into a coma.

"How could someone be injected with poison out of the blue?"

Xavier was a bit puzzled. The developer of this poison was in Solterra, and the formula was later bought by the Logan family for Ian's use.

Why would someone be here in the middle of the woods for no reason other than to find a target?

"I found a syringe next to this woman. We can further confirm if the poison they injected is the same as Bradley's."

Freya placed the syringe she picked up into a bag and handed it to Xavier.

"Okay. I'll verify it immediately."

Xavier took the syringe and left.

As for what happened in the woods, they would only know after Sean and the woman woke up.

Half an hour later, Sean slowly woke up.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a familiar face. Thinking he was dreaming, he shook his head.

"Sean, what happened in the woods?"

Freya spoke up, clearing up Sean's confusion.

"I heard someone talking about dealing with Leonard and stopping Grandpa from curing him. I was planning to come back and inform you, but a woman with a gun knocked me out and injected something into me. After that, I don't know."

Deal with Leonard?

Freya frowned.

Their target was Bradley then.

They also wanted to stop Hayden from curing him. Why?

"Did you see what the woman looked like?" Freya asked.

"She was a pretty looking woman. Oh, yes. She had a mole at the corner of her mouth."

A woman?

With a mole near her mouth?

Freya immediately thought of the woman who was bitten by a snake earlier that day, but she had forgotten if that woman had a mole at the corner of her mouth.

"What about the person next to you?" Freya asked.

"What person?" he asked in return.

"The one over there."

Freya pointed to the woman who was unconscious.

It was only then that Sean noticed that there was someone beside him, and he was taken aback.

"I don't know. I was unconscious at the time."

"Okay. Let's talk about it when she wakes up."

Freya did not ask any further questions. She wanted to talk to Bradley about this matter as he was the target.

In other words, they were in a very dangerous situation as they were now in the spotlight while their enemies were lurking in the dark.

Those staying upstairs naturally knew of the commotion happening downstairs.

Bradley stood by the window as he listened to every word spoken downstairs.

When Freya entered the room, he opened his arms in a gesture for her to go over to him.

She smiled and dashed into his embrace.

"Honey."

He held her tightly. His dazed mind was sobered up by her call.

"You heard everything we said?" she asked.

She held his face, looking deep into his eyes.

"Yes."

"Those people obviously came for you. I told you that woman who was bitten by a snake is shifty. She probably came to investigate."

"Don't worry. They can't hurt me."

"Do you know who they are?"

Freya squinted her eyes as doubt rose in her heart.

Bradley remained silent, lifting her up and walking toward the wooden couch.

Freya struggled in surprise. "No. You can't do this. There are people downstairs."

"What are you thinking about?"

Bradley put her down and tapped her nose with his finger. "It's more comfortable to chat while we're sitting down."

At his words, Freya's face turned red at a speed that was almost imperceptible to the naked eye.

What was she thinking?

Her mind was actually in the gutter.

All she thought about were those romantic moments spent doing that with him.

She had a filthy mind.

Bradley looked at her blushing face and smiled as he leaned down to gaze into her eyes. "Disappointed?"

"Disappointed? Not me. Don't make wild guesses."

She covered her face that burned as hot as fire.

"I'm the one making wild guesses? Aren't you secretly looking forward to something in your heart? Hm?"

With his deep and sexy voice and the tiny lilt at the end of his question, he sounded just like a seductive devil.

Freya pursed her lips, trying to break free from his embrace and run away.

However, he skillfully caught her by the waist, pulled her into his arms, and leaned down to kiss her.

Hmm!

Freya's brain completely crashed.

The man's kiss was intensely aggressive.

He almost devoured her before finally letting her go.

"In the future, don't hold back. I am your husband. You can come to me anytime."

"Bradley, you..."

Freya's face was bright red.

Her lips felt sore. They might be swollen.

She raised her fist to hit him, but he grabbed it and kissed it.

"Don't call me by my name. I prefer it when you call me 'honey'."

Her charming voice in that coy and cute tone would melt his heart every time.

"No way."

Freya haughtily turned her face away.

He's just so mean.

He would bully her as soon as they quarrel.

"You can call me Leo too," he gently said in a coaxing tone.

Freya still ignored him.

She was really angry.

He was helpless. It's so difficult to calm an angry wife. What do I do?

He then remembered what Xavier had said. Women liked romantic men. Occasional surprises could deepen feelings.

He raised his eyebrows, got up, walked toward the bed, and grabbed what he had been secretly working on yesterday to hide behind his back.

"Freya..."

He softly whispered.

Freya still ignored him.

He held her hand and gently slid the thing he had been working on onto her hand.

The cold sensation attracted Freya's attention, and she slowly turned her head.

On her wrist was a crudely made grass bracelet, adorned with pink flowers.

"Do you like it?"

The man's eyes were deep and filled with warmth.

Freya stared at the bracelet for a long time with tears in her eyes. "Did you make this?"

"I know it doesn't look good, but..."

"It's pretty. I like it." She lovingly caressed the bracelet as if it were a cherished treasure.

This simple and ordinary bracelet was made by Bradley's hands.

To her, it was far more valuable than expensive jewelry.

"Really?"

"Yes. Thank you, honey."

Freya leaned in close, gently pecking his lips.

Bradley was somewhat surprised that a simple grass bracelet could move her to tears.

Xavier was right. A small surprise could deepen the bond between two people.

Indeed, life is not just about making money. It requires a romantic touch.
