Chapter 311 Trying to Outsmart Them

"Master, Yana has gone mad from poisoning."

Xavier told him the whole story, causing Hayden to become extremely anxious.

"Who on earth did it? Catch them for me, I won't let them off lightly."

Hayden regarded Yana as family, doting on her over the years, and the two were extremely close.

Now that Yana had been drugged, he was extremely distressed.

Ignoring any advice, he immediately rushed over to untie Yana.

The monkey was already in a frenzy, and suddenly being rescued, it swung its claws and pounced towards the group of people.

The scene was chaotic.

"Don't hurt Yana. Anyone who touches a hair on her, I'll be after them."

Watching helplessly as Bradley punched Yana, Hayden's face turned red, and he shouted loudly at the others.

In the room, Shirley and Jinny heard the commotion and came downstairs.

Unexpectedly, the monkey lunged at the two of them.

Jinny pushed Shirley away, but couldn't dodge in time, and the monkey's teeth bit directly into her arm.

"Jinny."

Shirley was anxious and teary-eyed.

Freya narrowed her eyes but didn't approach.

She quietly observed everyone present.

Injecting poison into Yana right under their noses indicated that the culprit was among them.

Who could it be?

Freya's gaze swept over Shirley and finally landed on Jinny.

Seeing blood, the monkey's eyes turned bloodshot, and it lunged forward, wanting to tear everything apart.

"Yana, come to me, listen to me."

With red eyes, Hayden called Yana's name hoarsely.

The monkey, being intelligent and deeply connected to Hayden, turned its head and glanced at him upon hearing his voice.

"You're sick, come to me, let me take a look at you."

Hayden approached step by step, intending to embrace it.

"Grandpa, don't, Yana has gone crazy."

Sean worried that if Hayden got closer, the monkey would hurt him.

This kind of poison, when used on humans, turns them into beasts. If used on animals, the effect is even more extreme.

Previously, the few white mice he experimented on became violent and would even attack their companions.

If mice could display such behavior, monkeys, which bear even greater resemblance to humans, would undoubtedly exhibit similar reactions.

Hayden didn't listen to him and continued to approach.

Suddenly, the monkey turned around and bared its teeth at him.

Just when everyone thought it would attack Hayden, a miraculous scene occurred.

Yana unexpectedly leaped into Hayden's arms!

How... how is this possible?

Freya was shocked.

Previously, when Bradley went mad, she was the one who brought him back to reason.

But Yana was after all an animal. Despite being on the verge of losing control, she was controlled by Hayden.

This... was too dramatic, wasn't it?

Hayden comforted Yana's emotions, and soon the bloodshot veins in his pupils gradually dissipated.

He took it into the small room immediately.

This small room was actually a laboratory.

It used to be used by Sean for research, and there were all kinds of experimental equipment inside.

Hayden immediately went to rescue the monkey.

"I'll check it out."

"I'll come with you."

Xavier and Sean joined him.

They needed to confirm whether the poison injected into the monkey matched their research.

Only four people remained in the courtyard.

Freya first tended to Jinny's wound. Luckily, it wasn't serious, just a minor bite.

She briefly treated her wound, squeezed out the poisonous blood, and gave her a tetanus shot.

Shirley stayed to take care of her, while Freya and Bradley went back to the room first.

"I have a feeling something's off about this situation."

After shutting the door, Freya furrowed her brow.

"What have you noticed?"

Bradley embraced her and they sat together on the sofa.

Freya handed him the report from Sean.

"Take a look at these."

Bradley glanced through them. Most were technical terms he couldn't understand. His attention was drawn to the last line.

"The extracted components are similar."

"What's this?" he asked.

"It's a soil analysis report. When I was gathering herbs in the woods during the day, I felt like someone was following me. On my way back, I noticed footprints next to the bushes. I took soil samples. Later, I saw Jinny and Shirley watering vegetables in the garden, so I took soil samples from under their shoes too. I gave them all to Sean for analysis, and unexpectedly, we made a discovery."

Freya explained the situation.

"So, you suspect one of them was tracking you?"

"Exactly. Since you brought Jinny here a few days ago, I've been suspicious of her. Mark Taylor died, but Jinny was unharmed. Don't you find that odd? Plus, she hardly talks, and her eyes always seem strange. I suspect she might have ulterior motives in getting close to us. Or perhaps, she might be working with those people."

Bradley furrowed his brows deeply.

Freya continued, "Yana was injected with poison out of nowhere. I have a feeling this might just be the beginning, and soon, she'll target all of us."

"Don't worry, I'll have Shadow keep an eye on Jinny."

"You need to be cautious too. You're their main target. Your situation is the most dangerous right now."

Freya wasn't worried about anyone else; she feared Bradley might be ambushed.

After all, the sedative effect of the medicine he used often kept him in a state of sleep, providing the enemy with an opportunity.

"You've given me an idea. Since they're targeting me, let's play along."

A cunning gleam appeared in Bradley's eyes, indicating a brewing storm as cold as hell.

Freya eyed him suspiciously. "What's your plan?"

"Trying to outsmart them."

"No, I won't allow you to take risks. What if something happens to you?"

"Trust me, nothing will happen." Bradley held her face, gazing deeply into her eyes. "I can't bear to die because I can't bear to lose you."

"We won't die. The poisons in your body will soon be cleared, and everything will return to normal."

Bradley held her chin. "Once I'm better, will you still listen to me like this, and go along with what I say?"

"You're not a child. Why should I always listen to you?" Freya pinched his nose. "Honey, aren't our roles reversed? Shouldn't I be the one being pampered?"

"Alright, from now on, I'll pamper you."

"Then behave yourself and don't take risks." She said seriously.

"I'll listen to my wife."

Verbally agreeing, once Freya left, he began to act.

The other party had already begun to move; keeping them alive posed a danger.

He had to catch the mastermind behind the scenes as soon as possible, figure out their purpose for coming here, and eliminate them all.

Hayden was truly an expert in toxicology. Early the next morning, Yana appeared lively and energetic again in front of everyone.

With Yana's case as an example, Hayden's research unexpectedly made a new breakthrough...
