Chapter 313 Tell a Story

Yvette looked at her admiringly.

"Talking to smart people is refreshing. Yes, I intend to make use of the abundant resources in this forest to cultivate a true army of beasts."

"You're simply... insane!"

Freya lunged forward, picked up the gun from the ground, and once again aimed it at her forehead. "But you won't get that chance."

With that, the silver needle in her hand 'whooshed' into her acupuncture point.

Yvette felt her body go limp, as if all her strength had been drained.

Before collapsing, she looked at Freya in disbelief. "What have you done to me?"

"Nothing much, just let you experience what it's like to be led by the nose."

Yvette's legs gave way beneath her.

The woman before her was the perfect puppet, but she was far more formidable than Yvette had imagined.

She had underestimated her.

Unwilling to accept defeat, Yvette asked, "Who are you exactly?"

"I am who I am, and you're not worthy of knowing."

Freya's tone was icy.

At that moment.

Gabriel arrived with a group of people.

"Madam, are you alright?"

"I'm fine. Take her back with you."

"Yes."

Gabriel signaled for two men to come over and they carried Yvette back to the wooden house.

At the same time, Bradley also captured Yvette's accomplices.

When Freya returned, she smelled a strong scent of blood.

Jinny was lying on the ground with a deep gash on her arm, blood flowing freely.

Immediately, Freya flung the silver needle from her hand, directly piercing Jinny's thigh, then dashed over to grab her throat.

"Freya, she's innocent!"

Bradley intervened.

"Isn't she one of them?"

"No."

Bradley strode over to her and pulled her into his arms.

"Are you hurt?"

Freya shook her head. "No, are you?"

"I'm fine. But Jinny is injured. Can you take care of her?"

Bradley briefly explained Jinny's condition to Freya, who then realized she had misunderstood her all along.

She quickly removed the silver needle from her leg and tended to her wound.

In the meantime, Bradley approached Yvette slowly, his thin lips curled into a sinister smile.

He then ordered, "Bring him here."

With that, two bodyguards emerged from the backyard, carrying a man drenched in blood.

Yvette's face changed instantly.

"Dr. Jenner, you should know this person, right?"

Yvette clenched her fist tightly, her eyes filled with hatred.

"What have you done to him?"

"Nothing much, just beat him up, made him vomit blood, but he's still alive."

Bradley's face was cold as he walked forward and viciously kicked the man again.

The man, who was already unconscious, woke up in pain from the blow.

His eyes bloodshot, he looked at Yvette, not knowing whether to cry or laugh.

Yvette's eyes were about to burst with rage as she gritted her teeth and screamed at Bradley.

She struggled hard but was tightly held down by the bodyguards, unable to move.

"He confessed everything. He said you planned to occupy this forest, use its resources to cultivate a true army of beasts, and confessed all your crimes.

"It was you who killed Mark Taylor because you injected him with the poison, causing his heart failure and death. So you dumped his body in the wilderness, where it was torn apart by wolves..."

"As far as I'm concerned, your endgame is to administer a substantial dose of drugs to me, transforming me into your puppet entirely. Your intention is for me to assist you in confronting Kevin Logan. Moreover, you aim to cause harm to my wife, manipulating her to serve your purposes, descending into the same depravity as you. Yvette, you're capable of handling others, but to harm even your own Master. Do you still consider yourself human?"

Yvette was stunned at his words, looking at him incredulously. "How did you know that Hayden Barnes is my Master? And how did you know my identity?"

"Let me tell you a story."

"Forty-five years ago, during Summer Festival, Hayden Barnes and his pregnant wife, Yana, were enjoying the festivities on the streets. Suddenly, a drunken man bumped into Yana. Hayden severely reprimanded him, but the drunk got angry and wanted to retaliate against Hayden. Hayden, who had a high social status at the time and was accompanied by bodyguards, naturally didn't suffer any consequences, while the drunk had his leg broken..."

Pausing here, Bradley glanced at Yvette.

Clearly noticing her hand tremble, he sneered and continued.

"The drunk bore a grudge and decided to seek revenge. He instructed his daughter to infiltrate Hayden's laboratory and become his apprentice... Back then, Hayden's team was developing an antidote for the Beast Army, and this girl secretly tampered with the antidote, causing it to fail continuously. This resulted in the entire team suffering from the poison and eventually perishing..."

Hearing this, Yvette's face drained of color. She bit her lip tightly, glaring hatefully at Bradley.

Then she heard him continue, "Hayden was deeply distressed and started to mentor the girl, hoping to pass on his life's work to her. After Yana died during childbirth, Hayden was mentally devastated. The girl then sold his research to Ian Logan, continuing the study of the poison for the Logan family..."

"The girl ultimately failed to grasp Hayden's essence of research. Despite numerous attempts, her experiments repeatedly failed, losing Ian Logan's trust in the end. Unwilling to accept this, she devoted herself to research and finally developed another type of poison."

Bradley paused at this point, smirked, and chuckled coldly, "Next comes our story."

He continued.

"Ian Logan was eager to know the effects of the poison and had been looking for suitable test subjects. Just when Juliet was arrested, Ian Logan hatched a plan for Juliet to approach me and inject the poison into my body. But Ian didn't expect his plan to be exposed so soon by me."

"To better control me, after learning that I sought Hayden Barnes for treatment, Ian sent you and your husband to stop Hayden from treating me. Coincidentally, three people arrived in the forest, so you decided to impersonate them to get close to me. You pretended to be bitten by a snake, letting Freya and Hayden take you home to learn about the situation in the house. Later, you captured Shirley and Sean, assuming Shirley's identity to infiltrate among us."

"You always acted very naive and innocent, dispelling everyone's suspicion of you, but you forgot about one person who also saw your face."

Yvette's emotions surged upon hearing this.

"Who?

Bradley swept his gaze around, finally landing on Jinny.

"Coincidentally, it's your roommate."

"That's impossible. I've been disguising myself very well. How could she have found out?"

Yvette refused to believe that this woman had ruined her plan.
