Sharon looked up and saw this familiar face, filled with a hatred so strong it could bring about the end of the world.
Freya …
How on earth was the jerk who wrecked her family here?
"If I've got this right, this kid, you had him from the day you drugged Bradley. You ran the red light because you've been thinking about ending it all for a while. You're just dragging someone else down with you, heading straight to hell," Freya said, all chill.
Sharon bit her lip hard, her fists balled up.
That's it.
She was done with life!
She passed out on the road and woke up in the hospital, where they told her she was two weeks pregnant.
This kid was just a random surprise, she didn't even know who the dad was.
She was a wreck emotionally, that's why she ran that red light.
And guess what? The person she hit happened to be Freya's friend.
Talk about luck, right? Now she could totally use this mess to teach those jerks a lesson.
Since they wouldn't let her live in peace, she was going to drag a few people down with her even if it meant risking everything.
"You're speaking nonsense! This is my kid, from someone I love! You ran over my own flesh and blood, you're gonna pay for it."
Sharon yelled at them, totally frantic.
She had got nothing left, nothing to be scared of.
After Bradley insulted her like that, she was not gonna let him off easy.
And Freya...
She was gonna make these two pay a heavy price, even if it killed her, she would ruin their reputation first.
Sharon was kind of losing it and Freya's not keen on sticking around for more drama.
She called up Madeline and Ella to figure out what to do next.
"This woman got no other options left. I'm worried she might do something extreme and reckless."
Madeline said, looking concerned, "Plus, she had this creepy satisfied look in her eyes. I'm really worried she might go after Freya. You know, the Turner family's mess is partly because of you, Freya.'"
"I'm not scared. Whatever she's planning, I'm ready at anytime."
Freya seemed unfazed.
Sharon might not be the brightest bulb, but she was a pro at twisting things around.
"Freya, maybe you should stay out of this. Ella and I will handle her. Whether it's taking legal action or getting cash, I'm ready to deal with it anytime."
"I don't think I can deal with this mess anymore."
Freya sighed, leaning against the wall, mulling over a plan.
Just then, there was a loud clatter from the hospital room, and then a nurse rushing out from inside.
Freya approached her, asking, "What's going on?"
"The patient went berserk. She bit someone and started trashing the place. Look at my arm," the nurse said, rolling up her sleeve to reveal a bite mark.
Freya frowned.
Looked like Sharon was not giving up easily this time.
"Freya, check this out!"
Ella, scrolling through her phone, suddenly blurted out, "Sharon's not only attacking you and Bradley online but also putting up her own misserable story to get sympathy from netizens."
"What a jerk!"
Madeline also glanced at her phone.
As soon as Sharon's post went up, it started drawing loads of comments from netizens.
Ring ring ring!
Freya's phone chimed.
She picked up and heard Bradley sounding all worried.
"Freya, where are you?"
"At the hospital."
"Okay, I'm on my way. Just stay where you are."
Even though he hadn't hung up yet, his engine was already revving.
Patrick accidentally stumbled upon a post and quickly told him what happened.
The online heat was getting worse and he was worried reporters might start snooping around and hassle Freya.
"You don't need to rush over, I'll be okay."
Freya jumped in, worried Bradley's arrival might stir up more trouble.
After all, Sharon was after the Austin family, and it was not a good time to become the center of attention.
"I have to see you safe first, alright? Hang tight, I'm almost there."
Bradley wasn't listening, he just kept flooring it.
Patrick and Xavier got wind of the situation and tailed close behind.
Twenty minutes later...
Bradley arrived in a rush and pulled Freya into a tight hug.
"I'll take you home and sort everything out."
As he hurried over, he spotted a bunch of reporters swarming the hospital.
Patrick immediately sent people to guard all exits of the hospital, ensuring no reporters got anywhere near.
"What's the plan? The internet's blowing up, saying you're going all out against the Turner family. Sharon's even calling you a monster. It's a mess out there. If you go near Sharon, it could get even worse," she warned.
"I don't care. I'll deal with it my way. Come on, let's head home."
Bradley insisted, lifting her up.
Freya pushed back, "No, Honey. This is my battle to fight. Please, don't get involved."
Bradley barging in would just boost Sharon's ego.
Plus, his aggressive approach would just fan the flames online, making people even madder. It wouldn't just mess up his rep, but also the Austin family's.
But the real kicker was Sharon calling him a monster.
Bradley's finally calming down, but if he went after Sharon, the situation would definitely be out of control.
"Something awful's happened, the patient's attempted suicide... "
The nurse's voice echoed from the ward.
Freya dashed in and found blood everywhere, with Sharon passed out on the floor.
"I never thought this woman could be so sneaky, always playing the victim. Now she's pulling this suicide stunt to get sympathy."
Madeline said with a cold glare.
It's all her fault. Of all the people, why did we have to run into her?
As a result, she, as the one directly involved was blameless, yet Freya and Bradley were getting attacked online because of her.
"Sharon's ready to go head-to-head with us till the end!" Freya watched the doctors scrambling to help, silently clenching her fists.
She said, "You guys can go home, I'll handle this."
"How can we leave? She's not stable right now. What if she does something to you?"
Madeline said worriedly.
Bradley disagreed, insisting on taking Freya away.
"I'm the only one who can deal with this. Trust me," Freya said, locking eyes with everyone.
"No, she just bit the nurse. Who knows what she'll do when she wakes up?" Madeline argued.
"Yes, Freya, we're staying right here with you."
"No need. More folks around will just rile her up. The best move is to leave her alone. People act up more when you try to calm them down. So the best way now is to give her space."
Freya explained, looking straight at Bradley. "If you're worried, you can send someone to watch over me secretly, but you can't show up yourself! Please, Honey, I'm begging you."
She held onto his arm and started being all cute.
