Lucas mobilized the entire security system of the Fenton Pharmaceutical Group, accompanied by a group of agile bodyguards. It was evident that he wouldn't cease until he captured her.
"Grab those two for me. If you fail, get out of the Fenton Pharmaceutical Group. I don't harbor useless individuals."
A group of bodyguards advanced with electric batons in hand.
A hint of satisfaction flickered in Lucas's eyes.
He had been unable to find an opportunity to deal with Lance previously.
Unexpectedly, today he had taken matters into his own hands.
Lance allowed a strange woman to infiltrate the Fenton Pharmaceutical Group's warehouse to steal medicinal herbs.
If he caught this woman in the act, Lucas wanted to see how Lance would handle the situation when it reached his father and the board of directors.
The warehouse was a vital area of the Fenton Pharmaceutical Group, inaccessible to ordinary people, let alone outsiders.
This time, Lance had truly made a serious blunder.
He must exploit this incident to bring Lance down.
Freya watched as more and more people gathered, squeezing out a handful of sweat.
Lucas's demeanor suggested that he intended to encircle them and wouldn't relent until they had chased them for several blocks.
"Bradley, please put me down, you're exhausted."
Having carried her up and down the stairs for over a dozen floors, even with his good physical condition, there was a faint sheen of sweat on his face.
Bradley lowered his head to look at her, indulgently saying, "Even if I carry you like this for a lifetime, I won't feel tired."
Hearing this, Freya felt as if she had been dipped in honey, her heart melting.
"But I'm quite heavy."
"No, you're not. You should eat more, you're too thin."
His deep voice was sensual and enticing.
Freya listened as the wind rushed past her ears, lifting her head to gaze deeply at him, reaching out to wipe the sweat from his forehead.
Behind them, Lucas' voice continued to echo.
"Hurry up and run... they haven't eaten yet..."
"Stop them, quickly..."
Soon, a group of bodyguards emerged, blocking their path.
The area was packed with people, roughly estimated to be around twenty to thirty individuals in total.
Each security guard and bodyguard brandished weapons, their expressions oozing hostility.
The two found themselves forced into a corner.
Freya gestured for Bradley to set her down. Given the circumstances, they couldn't afford to remain passive.
Stepping out from the crowd, Lucas exuded an air of authority. "Keep running, don't you dare stop."
With his glasses and slick demeanor, he was undeniably irksome.
But it was his repugnant mouth that truly grated on Freya's nerves.
Narrowing her eyes, she flicked a silver needle from her palm, striking Lucas's mouth directly.
"Argh!"
Lucas screamed, his mouth contorting to one side.
He wailed, "Capture that b*tch for me, dead or alive!"
The bodyguards received the order and closed in.
Freya swiftly took down three of them with a sweeping motion.
Bradley's agility shone as he swiftly subdued one of the bodyguards, gripping his neck.
Locking eyes with Lucas, Bradley's gaze was piercing, sending a shiver down Lucas's spine, prompting him to cower behind his lackeys.
In a panic, Lucas fumbled for his phone, his mouth askew as he shouted into the receiver, "Lance... Lance... you've got some nerve... letting someone... break into the warehouse and steal medicinal herbs... You're... you're done for."
After calling Lance, Lucas dialed his father's number.
Upon receiving the news, Jonathan Fenton immediately contacted the board of directors and unleashed a torrent of fury at Lance.
"Lance, what in the world is going on?"
"The Fenton Pharmaceutical Group's warehouse is highly confidential. Yet you let a stranger waltz in and pilfer medicine. Have you lost your mind?"
"I don't care where you are, get back here this instant!"
On the other end of the line, Lance's brow furrowed deeply.
He hadn't even uttered a word before the other party abruptly ended the call.
He then received a call from his father, his expression turning as dark as a storm cloud.
Turning to his assistant, he ordered, "Return to Fenton Pharmaceutical Group at once."
Sending Poppy to retrieve the medicine had unexpectedly stirred up trouble with Lucas.
His younger brother has always been at odds with him. Now that he's finally caught him off guard, how could he simply let it slide?
Lance wasn't particularly concerned about how the Fenton family would handle him. His greater worry was Poppy falling into Lucas' hands.
With Lucas' underhanded tactics, Poppy would surely be in significant trouble.
"Hurry up."
Lance urged
Meanwhile, Freya had already subdued a considerable number of security guards.
However, Lucas seemed to have summoned even more reinforcements. Instead of diminishing, their numbers were increasing.
"Honey, you take the herbs back to the pharmacy first, I'll deal with these people."
Lucas' determination to apprehend her was evident. With such a relentless pursuit, they wouldn't be escaping anytime soon.
"Freya, I'm your husband. If my wife is in trouble, it's my duty to stand by you and resolve it, not flee and leave you to face it alone. That would only serve to undermine my own capabilities," Bradley asserted, his voice weighted with conviction.
Bradley stood protectively in front of her, his tone commanding, "Stay still. I'll deal with anyone who dares to harm you."
She was the woman he was prepared to defend with his life, yet here someone was, daring to threaten her!
Their utter disregard for their own safety was bewildering.
His dark eyes gleamed with an icy resolve, akin to a deep, forbidding abyss, radiating an aura of dominance and cold authority, enough to deter even the guards from advancing.
Feng Lin covered his mouth and muttered, "What are you standing there for? Keep moving!"
Despite Lucas' insistence, the bodyguards hesitated, none daring to approach.
These two were clearly skilled beyond their league.
And the woman's mastery of acupuncture was formidable. Several of Lucas' associates writhed on the ground, incapacitated by pain, unable to rise.
Freya casually adjusted her long hair.
Finding solace behind Bradley's imposing figure.
She peered at Lucas and smirked, "Who's Lucas anyway? Look over here."
Lucas clamped his hand over his mouth, his gaze momentarily stunned by a flash of light.
In the next instant, he let out another sharp cry
It was because Freya's needle had flown directly towards him, narrowly missing his crotch by mere inches.
It was a close call, one that almost ended his family line right then and there.
Freya nonchalantly touched her neck, a mischievous grin playing on her lips.
For some inexplicable reason, the moment she laid eyes on Lucas, she felt an immediate dislike. Though his face bore a resemblance to Lance's, deep down he was nothing but a pretentious hypocrite.
And his arrogant demeanor was simply insufferable.
Knowing when to stop, Freya refrained from inflicting further harm.
Grabbing Bradley's wrist, she deftly led them through, knocking aside a group of adversaries in the process.
With such a commotion, their escape seemed unlikely today.
Yet, as they descended, a figure suddenly emerged from the adjacent secure passage.
Brandishing a wooden stick, the assailant aimed a heavy blow at Freya's knee.
Wincing in pain, Freya's legs buckled, and she nearly stumbled forward.
But Bradley's swift reflexes prevented her from falling, catching her just in time.
Bradley's eyes flashed with fury as he swiftly pivoted, delivering a powerful kick that sent the attacker tumbling down the stairs with a bone-chilling scream.
Screams of agony echoed, mingling with the unmistakable sound of bones breaking.
Bradley's brutal kick was enough to make anyone shudder. Watching Freya's legs bruise, his heart filled with anguish.
Scooping her up, he charged into the secure passage, deftly locking the door behind them.
