Chapter 347 Provoking the Wrong Person

He adjusted his golden-rimmed glasses and apologized to Freya.

Freya was unsure of the methods Bradley had employed to coerce the Fenton father and son into compliance,

yet she couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction upon witnessing Lucas's meek demeanor.

Arching her eyebrows, she remarked, "I have little interest in Fenton Pharmaceutical Group. However, Lucas treated me as a thief. An apology won't suffice for not only injuring me but also chasing me throughout the building."

"So, what do you propose?" he inquired.

Freya tapped her nose thoughtfully and said, "It's quite simple. Just climb from the top floor of the Fenton building down to the first floor, address all the Fenton employees, admit your misjudgment, and maybe if I'm in a good mood, I won't pursue this matter any further."

In truth, she held no genuine interest in Fenton Pharmaceutical Group.

Yet, Bradley's earlier revelation regarding the enmity between Lucas and Lance spurred her resolve.

Lucas' actions were likely influenced by Lance's antagonism.

While she might forgo acquiring Fenton Pharmaceutical Group, she harbored no intention of absolving Lucas easily.

Lance had extended his gratitude, elevating her from an obscure hacker to Cloudstone's partner.

Today, he had even dispatched her to Fenton Pharmaceutical Group's warehouse for medicinal supplies. Although the outcome was less than ideal, she had still secured the necessary materials.

Morally and practically, she owed him a word of gratitude.

As for reciprocation, she would lend her assistance in dealing with Lucas!

Observing his wife's confident demeanor, Bradley reclined in his chair, eyebrows arched.

Her triumphant gaze gleamed like polished obsidian, exuding a cunning charm akin to a fox's.

When her temper flared, anyone who dared to provoke her would invariably find themselves in serious trouble.

"You're crossing the line," Lucas stuttered.

His complexion shifted between pale and flushed.

He hadn't anticipated Freya's audacious insult.

Regardless of the circumstances, he remained the vice president of Fenton Group and the second son of the Fenton family.

He pondered how he could retain his foothold in the company if this continued

Moreover, the Fenton Building comprised forty or fifty floors. A climb from the top to the bottom would surely exhaust him to death.

"If Mr. Lucas deems my request excessive, then... I'll have my husband acquire Fenton Pharmaceutical Group and evict you all," Freya threatened.

"You fool! When Mrs. Austin issues an order, you obey without question. Why the unnecessary chatter?"

Jonathan scolded Lucas angrily.

This youngster was utterly clueless. He had actually provoked Bradley.

If they continued to haggle at this moment, they'd likely find themselves behind bars by tomorrow.

Lucas's expression turned mournful. "Dad, fifty floors... I'll die!"

"Even if you do, it's your own fault. You think you could afford to provoke Mr. Austin's associates? Off you go, why aren't you moving?"

"Dad..."

"Hurry up."

Jonathan was frantic and delivered a hard kick.

Lucas cried out in pain.

He never imagined that his own father, for the sake of profit, would ultimately sacrifice him.

In the end, Lucas complied with Freya's demands and ascended from the top floor to the ground.

To witness the spectacle, Freya went to the surveillance room.

Bradley had intended to accompany her, but he received an urgent phone call and went to the corridor to answer it.

The call was from Gabriel.

Since the plan in Solterra began, Gabriel had gone Solterra.

In just a few days, he had destroyed two laboratories belonging to Ian Logan.

This enraged Kevin, and he had a major falling out with Ian.

Bradley's plan was to wait until the two of them truly fell out, then lead the S organization to storm Duke's Palace.

Catch the thieves before catching the king!

After hanging up the phone, Bradley prepared to go to the surveillance room to find Freya.

At this moment, Patrick suddenly appeared behind him.

"Bradley, why are you in such a hurry to find me?"

Bradley turned to look at him, his expression calm and composed.

"Isn't Lucas often at Shangri-La? Compile all the videos of his misdeeds and post them online," Bradley instructed.

"Why do you want to target Lucas?" Patrick asked, puzzled.

"Simply because he's picked a fight with the wrong person,"

Bradley replied, his tone cold and resolute.

Patrick narrowed his eyes, realizing that Lucas had landed himself in serious trouble if Bradley was personally involved.

He needed to think carefully. Who could this person be that Lucas shouldn't have provoked?

Following Bradley's gaze, Patrick's eyes fell on a slender figure in the surveillance room.

He smirked inwardly.

Only Freya could possess such allure to provoke Bradley to such anger.

"Oh, by the way, isn't Lucas recently investing in the Metropolitan Gardens?"

"Yes, he plans to develop it into residential property, expected to be completed in the second half of the year."

"Alright, find a way to sabotage it discreetly, preferably causing him substantial debt and a tarnished reputation,"

Bradley said, then turned and headed towards the surveillance room.

He could afford to bypass the acquisition of Fenton Pharmaceutical Group, but merely making Lucas climb stairs was letting him off too lightly.

If he didn't assert himself now, everyone would think they could take advantage of his woman in the future.

Patrick rubbed his nose thoughtfully and remarked, "Alright, anyone who dares to bully my sister-in-law will face my wrath."

Recently, Madeline had been giving him the cold shoulder, leaving him in a foul mood with no outlet for his frustrations.

Lucas being handed to him was just the outlet he needed.

Patrick's smirk deepened as he dialed a number on his phone.

Entering the surveillance room, Bradley observed his wife engrossed in the videos, laughing heartily, and approached her from behind, wrapping his arms around her.

"A bit of punishment and you're this cheerful," Bradley commented.

Freya wiped away a tear and said, "Don't you find it amusing? Look at his expression, it's priceless."

Although Lucas was an illegitimate child, he had been pampered since childhood, deeply favored by Jonathan.

Riding in luxury cars with bodyguards at his side, he had never experienced such hardship.

Making him climb dozens of flights of stairs was more satisfying than a beating.

After all, the soreness and pain from climbing stairs would linger for days, making it difficult for him to even use the toilet.

Furthermore, this kind of pain would endure for several days.

Freya glanced back at the monitor.

Lucas sat on the stairs, panting, while a few bodyguards behind him kicked him.

He continued to climb, crying and looking like an old man, which was simply hilarious.

Those bodyguards were sent by Freya, specifically to supervise Lucas and prevent him from slacking off.

So, whether Lucas liked it or not, he had to climb all those stairs!

At that moment, Lance appeared at the door.

His gaze, deep and affectionate, lingered on Freya, his hidden tenderness difficult to conceal.

If she wasn't Bradley's woman, perhaps he would have resorted to any means to win her over.

But life had no "ifs," and he had ultimately arrived too late.

Lance clenched his fists silently.

Dressed in a deep gray suit, his hair slightly disheveled, yet it did not detract from his handsome appearance.

His deep and solitary eyes contained a complex mix of yearning and unwillingness to give up.

Perhaps his gaze was too intense. Bradley narrowed his eyes and turned to look at him.

The tenderness in Bradley's eyes vanished instantly, replaced by hostility.

Freya also sensed something and turned to see Lance standing behind her.
