Her lips possessed a mysterious allure, every touch leaving him in deep anticipation, unable to resist.
Freya's ears blushed crimson as she tenderly declared, "Darling, I promise I won't see him again."
From now on, any cooperation would be strictly online.
She wouldn't break the rules and meet him offline.
At her words, Bradley's face lit up with a satisfied smile.
His warm hands cradled her petite face, their foreheads touching.
"You are mine, always have been, always will be."
He whispered, his breath caressing her cheek, intensifying her blush.
Freya bit her lip, tasting his familiar scent, her eyes flickering with uncertainty.
"I've prepared the antidote. Once you take it, you won't lose control again."
She said, nuzzling her nose against his, "Be good. I'll go downstairs to brew it, and I'll be back to keep you company later."
She was anxious to assess the medicine's efficacy. Other matters could wait for now.
Reluctant to let her go, Bradley held her tightly. "Don't leave," he pleaded.
"I won't. I just…Ah!"
"He kissed her again, depriving her of all breath.
Freya's eyelashes quivered gently as they brushed against his fair skin, prompting additional shivers.
His breath became slightly labored, his tender kisses delicately outlining her features.
His voice, deep and sultry, added to the allure.
"Let's stay like this for a while, then we'll go, okay?"
He suggested, his eyes brimming with affection.
Freya's lashes quivered, dampened with emotion, as she nodded in agreement.
They remained locked in each other's embrace, as if time stood still.
After what felt like an eternity, Freya gently pushed him away.
"Darling, I'm done. I'll go simmer the medicine," she announced.
"I'll have Rosa do it. You needn't bother,"
Bradley insisted, reaching for his phone.
"No, I must. Simmering this medicine requires skill. If you don't control the heat properly for long, its efficacy will diminish."
Freya explained, halting his actions.
Bradley relented, unwilling to part from her even for a moment.
Witnessing her pleading demeanor, he simply couldn't resist.
"Then you must kiss me first, and I'll release you."
He bargained, leaning in expectantly.
Freya hesitated, her lip leaving a glistening trail as she bit it, before yielding to his request.
Bradley could hardly restrain himself with just a glance; his heart raced, and he couldn't help but want to kiss her.
But Freya was one step ahead, planting a quick peck on his cheek.
"Alright, I'm going down."
She said, swiftly getting off the bed and dashing away.
It felt as though with just one delayed step, the man would catch up and seize her.
Fortunately, Bradley didn't follow, and she breathed a sigh of relief.
Downstairs, Rosa had already prepared the meal and was about to send Frederick upstairs to call for everyone.
Seeing Freya come down, Rosa smiled kindly and said, "Madam, you've come down just in time. It's time for dinner."
"Let Bradley eat first. I'll go brew the medicine. By the way, Rosa, do we have a clay pot or ceramic pot for brewing traditional medicine?"
"We do. Earlier, Frederick wasn't feeling well and was drinking traditional medicine all the time, so we kept a clay pot. Do you need it, madam?"
"Yes, please bring it out for me."
Rosa nodded and quickly fetched the clay pot.
Freya gathered the medicinal herbs and carried the pot to the front yard to start brewing the medicine.
"Madam, why don't you go have your meal first? I can handle these things," Rosa suggested kindly.
"No need, I'll handle it myself."
Freya replied, smiling back at her.
Rosa knew she couldn't persuade her, so she went inside to keep busy.
Half an hour later, Freya finished brewing the medicine and brought it in, only to find Bradley sitting at the dining table.
"Why haven't you eaten yet?"
She approached and noticed that the dishes on the table were untouched.
Standing nearby, Rosa explained, "Master Bradley said he would wait for you to eat together."
Freya sighed inwardly and placed the bowl of medicine in front of him. "Alright, I'm here now. Eat quickly, but you have to drink the medicine first."
Bradley glanced at the murky bowl of Chinese medicine, its bitter aroma wafting in the air, and couldn't help but furrow his brow.
As Xavier was a Western doctor, he mostly prescribed Western medicine, which Bradley could swallow with a gulp and wash down with water.
But facing this large bowl of traditional medicine, he felt a shiver just looking at it.
"Can I drink it later?"
He had been drinking a lot of traditional medicine lately and found it tasteless.
He feared that if he drank this bowl of medicine now, he wouldn't even want to eat.
"No, this medicine must be drunk warm. If you find it bitter, you can have a bowl of soup first," Freya insisted.
Bradley narrowed his eyes and gestured for Rosa and Frederick to leave.
As soon as the others left, Bradley wore a look of playful grievance. "Darling, this medicine is bitter!"
"I know it's bitter, but good medicine often tastes bad!"
"Then you feed it to me."
He looked at her with hopeful anticipation.
Freya's lips twitched with amusement.
Now she understood why he had asked Rosa and Frederick to leave, it was so she could feed him the medicine.
"Why don't you drink it yourself? After you finish, I'll give you a lollipop!"
Freya coaxed him playfully, taking out a lollipop and teasingly waving it in front of him.
Bradley raised an eyebrow but said nothing more. He took the bowl of traditional medicine and downed it in one gulp.
Seeing his compliance, Freya unwrapped the lollipop and handed it to him.
But to her surprise, he grabbed her wrist, pulled her into his arms.
He lowered his face and planted a deep kiss on her lips.
The bitter taste of the medicine lingered in their mouths.
Freya made a muffled sound, her pupils dilating as she allowed him to deepen the kiss.
Only when she felt breathless did Bradley release her.
"Mmm, so sweet,"
he murmured, licking his lips suggestively.
Freya blushed, lightly pounding her fists against his chest, her tone teasing.
"You have no shame, always picking on me."
Bradley's lips curved into a smirk as he ran his hand through her soft hair, bringing her head to rest against his forehead.
"The sweetness of the candy can't compare to your taste."
He whispered, deliberately exhaling, causing Freya's heart to flutter.
She gazed deeply into his eyes, a misty glow in her azure irises.
Her hands climbed up to his neck, her cheeks flushed, and her eyes emitting a seductive allure.
"You can also...fight back."
He whispered in her ear again.
Freya heard him, a mischievous glint flashing in her eyes.
She smirked, reaching out to ruffle his hair, then leaned down and playfully bit him.
"Oops!"
Bradley hadn't expected her to retaliate in such a way and couldn't help but let out a low groan.
"This is your punishment for picking on me!"
She declared triumphantly.
She hadn't expected him to be so sensitive too, any little tease made him lose control.
Before, he always teased her, leaving her feeling both embarrassed and annoyed.
Now, turning the tables on him felt unexpectedly amusing.
"Freya," Bradley caught her restless hand, pulling her onto his lap, his eyes burning with desire.
