Chapter 352 The News

The three returned to the villa.

Bradley and Patrick had important matters to discuss, so they all went to the study.

Freya went back to her room to change clothes.

At that moment, her phone rang.

It was a call from Ella.

"What's up, Ella?"

"I have good news and bad news, which one do you want to hear first?"

Freya blinked, surprised that Ella could also be so mysterious.

She smiled, "Let's start with the good news."

"The good news is... someone wants to hire Mystica for a mission." Ella's voice sounded lazy, as if she had just woken up.

Freya narrowed her eyes, "And what's the bad news?"

"Well, the bad news is, the target of the mission is your man."

"You mean Bradley?"

"Exactly, the other party wants you to name your price. As long as you're willing to carry out this assassination mission, they want Leonard's head on a platter."

Freya's expression froze.

Mystica was one of her identities.

However, since she arrived at Royal Garden Mansion, she had stopped accepting any missions.

She never expected someone would come knocking on her door. To speak of it – assassinating Bradley!

"Who is this person?" she asked.

"Funny enough, it happens to be the King of Solterra, Kevin Logan."

Freya squinted at the revelation.

Although she had been hiding in Kevin's mansion tonight, she didn't get too close, fearing exposure.

She hadn't heard clearly what Kevin and his distinguished guests were discussing.

Never did she expect they were planning to assassinate Bradley. Fortunately, they approached Mystica.

If it were any other assassin, it would have been troublesome.

"Ella, tell Kevin Logan I'll take the job."

If they wanted to touch her man, then they could try. Let's see who would die first!

"Oh, by the way, there's an additional condition. They also want to get rid of Ian Logan,"

Ella added just before hanging up.

"Okay, I'll deal with Ian as soon as possible. Tell Kevin Logan my commission isn't cheap. Without at least ten billion, I won't accept."

With that, Freya felt someone approaching behind her.

Without saying much, she quickly hung up the phone.

Suddenly, her waist was tightly hugged.

"Who were you talking to on the phone?"

"It was Ella who called,"

She replied truthfully, choosing to conceal the content of the call.

Bradley hugged her, his voice seductive, "You did a great job tonight. What reward do you want?"

If it weren't for Freya's help in seizing the Celestial Ring, it wouldn't have gone so smoothly.

He knew her abilities, but he didn't expect her to be so capable, freely moving in and out of Kevin's mansion.

Freya tiptoed and hugged his neck.

"I don't need a reward. Just your safe presence by my side is the greatest reward for me."

Freya gazed deeply into his eyes.

The luckiest thing in her life was being able to accompany Bradley, facing life and death together, never leaving or forsaking each other.

"You fool, neither of us will be in danger. I won't allow anything to happen to myself."

He said, lowering his head and gave her a peck.

Freya closed her eyes, savoring this tender moment.

After a while, the man let her go.

Freya blinked and said, "What about the Celestial Ring? Can I see it?"

It was the supreme symbol of power in Solterra, and she was curious about its peculiarities.

Bradley brought the ring to her.

Freya picked it up and examined it.

The jade thumb ring, meticulously crafted, bore a remarkable insignia: a tiny crown etched into its surface.

Yet, what caught one's attention most was the minuscule droplet of blood, seemingly fused into the crown.

"What does this blood drop symbolize?" she asked curiously.

Bradley, squinting slightly, recounted the tale: "During its crafting, the artisan inadvertently pricked his finger, leaving a mark on the ring. Legend has it that my great-grandfather, driven by ambition for the throne, chose not to remake it, and so it has remained, passed down through generations."

"Although it's not perfect, it still has its peculiarities,"

Appreciating its uniqueness, Freya tenderly caressed the ring, feeling its warmth and intricacy.

Returning it to Bradley, she expressed her earnest desire, "When you reclaim Solterra, I wish to be the one to place this ring upon your finger."

Accepting her words with solemnity, Bradley embraced her, his eyes reflecting affection as he whispered, "I eagerly await that day."

The next day.

The entire palace was in chaos.

The Celestial Ring was missing!

Kevin was worried about causing panic, so he ordered the news to be suppressed, but secretly sent people to search for the whereabouts of the Celestial Ring.

"You're all worthless! How could someone break into the mansion without any of you noticing?"

Kevin's fury filled the living room as he paced back and forth.

"Your Majesty, we diligently guarded the secret room and found no signs of intrusion," the guards stammered, their fear palpable.

"Retrieve the surveillance footage immediately. I want a list of everyone who entered and left the mansion yesterday." Kevin commanded, his voice cold and commanding.

The Celestial Ring, a vital artifact, had vanished without a trace.

"Yes, Your Majesty." the guards hurriedly complied.

Soon, all the surveillance videos were retrieved.

Kevin stared at the screen intently, not missing any figures.

Suddenly, he instructed the guards to pause the video.

He looked at the familiar figure on the screen and clenched his fist tightly.

"It must be Ian, it's definitely him."

Ian's ambition for the throne had long been evident, and his clandestine schemes spanned years, employing various underhanded tactics.

It wouldn't be surprising if he was behind the poisoning at last night's banquet as well.

Kevin dialed a number and issued a directive.

"Get in touch with Mystica immediately. Instruct her to take out Ian tonight."

When Freya received Ella's call, she had just roused from sleep.

Rubbing her tired eyes, her voice gravelly, she responded, "Tell them we're moving forward with the plan tonight."

"Understood."

Ella swiftly set things in motion.

Despite her fatigue, Freya felt wide awake. Hastening to freshen up, she descended the stairs.

A servant respectfully greeted her, "Madam, breakfast awaits you. Please, partake."

"Where is Sir?"

Freya scanned the area but found no sign of Bradley.

"Madam, Sir departed early this morning with Sir Patrick and Sir Gabriel. Sir has instructed you to stay home today. If you're feeling idle, you may take a stroll around the mansion."

"Very well."

Freya accepted without further inquiry, aware of Bradley's recent preoccupations.

Breakfast was lavish, but Freya consumed only a modest portion before returning upstairs.

Tonight marked the end of Ian's disruptive influence, and Freya needed to devise an airtight strategy.

Ian also had his own mansion. He was even more suspicious than Kevin, so it wouldn't be easy to get close to him.

However, it was said that he was extremely lecherous.

If there were no better options, she would have to resort to this.

After staying in the room for over an hour, Freya decided to go downstairs for a walk.
