“Bradley, why are you competing with a child? How immature!”
Freya gave him a fierce glare.
She still thought it sounded better to be called Freya rather than mommy. It made her feel like she aged several years.
"You're my wife. If Matthew calls you Freya and me daddy, how do you think others will perceive our relationship, hmm?" He emphasized, his tone slightly domineering as he approached.
As if asserting his dominance, he directly wrapped his arms around her waist.
Freya blushed.
Matthew was still here; couldn't he be a bit more restrained?
She struggled to push him away, but he just pulled her into his embrace.
"Um, the child is still here." Freya muttered.
Bradley narrowed his eyes, then finally let her go.
Freya let out a sigh of relief, her face red with embarrassment.
Hugging and cuddling in front of a child was really awkward.
She pushed Bradley away and said, "I'll be taking Matthew for a check-up later. If you have things to attend to, you can go."
"I'm not busy. I'll stay here with you two",
With Gabriel's help on Solterra's project, he had plenty of time to spare, leaving him free to spend time with her.
"Alright then, take a rest." Freya said, knowing she couldn't chase him away.
She turned to Matthew and said gently, "Matthew, give me your hand. Mommy will do a check up on you."
Matthew was very obedient and immediately stretched out his chubby little hand.
Freya carefully checked his pulse and noticed that his breathing was indeed not stable.
She asked the nanny to bring out all the medicine Matthew needed, feeling more and more heartbroken as she looked at them.
Such a young child, having to take so much medicine every day.
In the long run, it would only worsen his condition, possibly even depending on medication for the rest of his life.
"Mommy, am I very sick?" Matthew asked, looking at Freya with a worried expression.
Freya sniffled and forced a smile. "No, Matthew is very healthy. But are you a picky eater? You may not be getting enough nutrition."
Indeed, Matthew couldn't eat many foods.
He liked shrimp, but it was an allergenic food, so it was strictly forbidden in his diet.
In fact, he couldn't even touch most allergenic foods.
Matthew's daily food choices were limited, making him quite picky.
However, the chefs in the villa were all hired from five-star hotels and could always find creative ways to prepare various ingredients for him.
Sticking out his tongue playfully, Matthew asked, "Mommy, can I eat the food you and daddy eat every day?"
The little guy had a naive yet hopeful expression on his face.
Since he could remember, his meals had always been carefully arranged. He had never eaten with the adults before.
Of course, the four fathers were rarely at the villa, so most of the time, he ate alone.
But now, Matthew suddenly wanted to eat with his fathers and mommy.
He wanted to see what the adults were eating.
"Of course, Mommy will cook lunch myself, and Matthew can eat with daddy and mommy." Freya replied.
Matthew cheered at the news.
Freya conducted some more tests on Matthew and found that his condition was more serious than she had imagined.
In addition to asthma, his other bodily functions were extremely fragile.
Bradley had also told her that Matthew was a premature baby who had been abandoned in an orphanage from a young age, which had caused many underlying health issues.
Feeling sympathy for Matthew's plight, Freya was determined to heal him.
At noon, she personally cooked in order to have Matthew join them for lunch.
The food she prepared was mostly medicinal, beneficial for Matthew's health.
Of course, for the sake of others, she also prepared several other dishes.
The notes left by Mr. Gunther contained various methods for treating stubborn illnesses, as well as recipes for medicinal diets.
Freya now carried this notebook with her wherever she went, for future reference.
With the help of the five-star chefs, the table was soon filled with colorful dishes.
"I never expected to taste my Freya's cooking in this lifetime."
Patrick remarked, looking at the array of colorful dishes, his mouth watering.
"Fourth Daddy, you should thank me. Mommy cooked because of me."
Matthew proudly declared.
Patrick raised his hand and gently tapped Matthew's little head. "Mommy cooked for your third daddy, and we're all benefiting from it."
Matthew looked at Freya with a pitiful expression. "Mommy, didn't you cook for me to eat?"
"It's for Matthew!" Freya chuckled.
"In that case, to thank Mommy, Matthew wants to sit with Mommy."
Matthew declared, about to squeeze between Bradley and Freya.
Freya effortlessly picked him up and placed him on her lap, affectionately pinching his chubby cheeks.
"How about Mommy holds you while you eat?"
"Okay!"
Matthew waved his chubby little hand.
Meanwhile, Bradley, sitting beside them, had a dark expression on his face.
His eyes were cold as they fell on Matthew's seat and where his back leaned against Freya's chest. Waves of jealousy surged within him.
That was his wife. He had never sat on her lap, let alone leaned his back against her chest.
Freya's actions seemed to diminish his authority.
Without saying a word, Bradley picked up Matthew and handed him over to Patrick.
"Sit properly and eat by yourself!"
His tone was icy, devoid of any warmth.
Matthew looked confused, not understanding what was happening.
But everyone present could see that Bradley was jealous!
What's more, he was jealous of a five-year-old child!
Patrick struggled to contain his laughter.
Everyone's expressions were extremely strange.
Freya was also bewildered by the situation.
After lunch, Bradley and Patrick went to the study to discuss matters, while Freya played with Matthew in the living room.
Pouting, Matthew said unhappily, "Mommy, what's wrong with Third Daddy? He kept glaring at me during lunch. It was so scary!"
He used to admire Third Daddy the most.
But now, he suddenly felt that third daddy was very stern and intimidating.
"Matthew, you're overthinking it. third daddy loves you very much."
Freya reassured him, trying to soothe his emotions.
She couldn't help but find Matthew adorable, and she always wanted to hold him in her arms.
"Mommy, can Matthew live with you? Matthew feels so lonely and pitiful living alone in the small villa." Matthew pleaded.
Hearing this, Freya felt a bit softened by the words.
A child so young living alone, eating and sleeping by himself, was truly pitiful.
Children his age should be cherished and pampered by their parents, hugged and held all day long.
But Matthew had suffered from illness and pain since childhood, and at the age of five, he had to learn to be independent. Just thinking about it was heartbreaking.
"It's okay, from now on, Matthew will stay with mommy, and will never be alone again."
