Chapter 370 Playing a Game

"But Mommy, will Daddy agree?"

He also wanted to go to kindergarten.

But Daddy said the outside world was too dangerous, so he never let him go out.

"With Mommy here, he will definitely agree."

Freya reassured him, hugging him close. "Daddy won't be back today. Wherever Matthew wants to go, Mommy will be there."

"Really?"

"Of course. When has Mommy ever lied to you?"

"Then can we go to the amusement park?"

"Of course!"

Freya smiled at his eager eyes and agreed.

"Yay, with Mommy, I won't be lonely anymore."

Matthew exclaimed, wrapping his arms around Freya's neck and giving her several kisses.

Freya chuckled. "Have none of your daddies ever taken you out to play?"

"Daddies are always busy. They rarely come back, and even when they do, they have their own things to do. I've always been with the nanny."

Matthew's words deeply saddened Freya.

Because of Matthew's health issues, he had been confined to the small villa with the nanny.

He never experienced the love of his parents from childhood, and his upbringing was pitiful.

"It's okay. From now on, I will be there for you whenever I'm free," Freya comforted him, rubbing his hair.

Matthew's eyes lit up with joy.

"Mommy is so good. I love Mommy."

The soft and waxy voice deeply shook her heart.

Freya smiled warmly. "Mommy loves you too."

She couldn't bear to imagine how a child could be locked up at home every day, losing the joy of childhood, eating food he didn't like, and feeling lonely.

How has he managed to survive these past few years?

Freya became even more determined to protect this child.

She informed the nanny that she would take Matthew out, but the nanny hesitated.

"Madam, the young master's health is not good. Going outside where it's windy and sunny..."

"Don't worry. I'm a doctor. I know what's appropriate," Freya reassured her.

"But…"

"It's okay. If Mr. Bradley asks, I'll explain."

With that, the nanny had no choice but to agree.

Freya arranged for a car and took Matthew to the amusement park.

Such places were always crowded on weekends.

It was Matthew's first time in such a place, and he found everything fascinating.

Pointing at the carousel, he exclaimed, "Mommy, I want to ride that horse."

"Okay, let's go buy tickets."

She took Matthew to the ticket counter and purchased parent-child tickets.

Matthew was nervous and excited for his first ride, occasionally looking back at Freya.

"Mommy, it's moving..."

Seeing his happy smiling face, Freya's mood also improved.

She took out her phone and snapped several pictures of Matthew.

Even though he wasn't her child, as long as he called her Mommy, she would treat him like her own son.

After getting off the carousel, Matthew stood in front of the roller coaster and pointed.

"Mommy, I want to go on that ride."

Freya glanced in the direction Matthew was pointing, narrowing her eyes. "Matthew, that's a roller coaster, it's a bit risky. How about we try the bumper cars instead?"

Even though Matthew's health had improved under good care, he still had a fragile constitution, and some of the more thrilling rides wouldn't suit him.

Matthew obediently agreed, "Okay, I'll listen to Mommy!"

Freya selected a few attractions that were suitable for Matthew, and they enjoyed their time together.

Considering Matthew's delicate health and the unsuitability of crowded places for him, Freya noticed when it was time to head back home.

Suddenly, two figures rushed toward them.

Initially, Freya didn't pay them much attention.

When she heard cries and turned around, she saw Matthew sitting on the ground.

The two children had accidentally knocked into Matthew before swiftly fleeing.

Squinting ahead, Freya noticed two boys, approximately ten years old, running in their direction.

She was about to go after them to address the situation, but Matthew held her hand. "Mommy, I'm fine."

Despite his scratched arms, Matthew remained resolute.

Observing this, Freya felt uneasy.

She lifted Matthew, tended to his wounds, and then went after the two children.

No matter the circumstance, it was important to assist someone you've collided with and offer an apology.

Freya caught up and realized that the two children appeared to be causing trouble intentionally.

They bumped into numerous people along the way, leading to tears and commotion.

Many parents scolded them, "Whose kids are these? Do they have any manners?"

However, the boys merely made faces at them before tossing something and fleeing.

Deeply furrowing her brows, Freya stared at the smoldering object on the ground.

Suddenly, she exclaimed, "Firecrackers! Everyone, move away!"

As she finished speaking, the object exploded, shooting up into the sky.

The two boys turned around, smirking.

Wherever they went, they threw firecrackers at will.

Freya frowned deeply.

Where did these unruly children come from? Were there no adults supervising them?

Suddenly, the boys climbed onto the horizontal bar, sitting atop it with their hands dangling in the air.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Brian Logan, and this is my younger brother, Brody Logan. We're about to put on a little show for you."

Immediately after his introduction, the boy reached into his pocket and tossed a handful of firecrackers onto the ground in front of him.

"Anyone brave enough to come over and help us light these firecrackers will be rewarded with some cash."

Brian proudly displayed several hundred yuan bills in his hand, sporting a smug grin.

The onlookers exchanged confused glances with one another.

After showcasing his skills on the horizontal bar, Brian settled into a proud posture. "In addition to this cash reward, I can extend an invitation for you all to visit the royal palace as my esteemed guests."

Brian and Brody were both beloved sons of Ian Logan and his third wife.

Both of them had undergone specialized training since childhood and had gained notoriety as troublemakers in the royal family, particularly skilled in handling explosives.

Feeling bored with their recent activities at the Duke's Palace, they had come to the amusement park in search of excitement.

"Are you all too afraid to light just a few firecrackers? What a bunch of cowards," Brody taunted, his nose slightly tilted and his eyes filled with mockery.

He ignited a fire and tossed it directly into the pile of firecrackers.

Suddenly, there were several loud bangs as all the firecrackers exploded.

Some of the children in the crowd were frightened and began to cry.

Parents swiftly escorted their children away, and the scene descended into chaos.

Brian chuckled, "Don't bother running away. We've planted bombs all over the amusement park. If anyone accidentally steps on one, they'll be blown sky-high."

Upon hearing this, everyone froze in place, too terrified to move.

The cries of scared children mingled with the general unease of the crowd.

Freya held Matthew close, her gaze fixed on the person on the horizontal bar.

Suddenly, she took a step forward, her expression turning cold as she declared, "If you're looking for a game, then let's play."
