Chapter 391 The Palace Explodes

It was true. When Shadow One looked at Freya, there was disdain and provocation in her eyes.

That was how a rival in love should act anyway.

Although Freya believed in Bradley's love for her, she would never believe a love rival would refrain from seducing her husband.

"Don't worry. I will dig up all her secrets for you."

Ella joked before leaving.

Freya stayed in the room for a while. Then, she changed into a pair of leather pants and a leather jacket and put on Mystic's mask before leaving as well.

Since the relationship between Ian and Kevin was tense and strained, she decided to add fuel to the fire and completely ruin their relationship.

Just as Freya walked away…

A shadow darted through the darkness.

Shadow One stood on the top floor of the villa with the wind blowing around her. She silently watched Freya through a spyglass in her hand.

"It's late. Where is Madam going?"

*

At the palace.

Kevin had his own private mansion and did not live in the palace.

At that moment, the palace grounds were filled with guards.

It was quiet and late at night.

The guards were patrolling back and forth.

Suddenly, there was a loud boom.

The guards were instantly on alert.

"What's going on? Are there assassins?"

The guards quickly searched around, but soon, they heard a rumbling sound.

A bomb dropped from the sky, exploding upon impact and leaving bursts of fire.

"Bomb! Everyone, be careful."

The guards were panicking.

The explosion had everyone on alert, and soon a large group of guards rushed out.

"What's going on?"

"Someone threw a bomb!"

"This is the palace! Do they have a death wish?"

The guards scattered, searching in all directions for the culprits.

At that moment, Freya watched them from her spot on the rooftop.

She was playing with a small bomb in her hand as a slight smile could be seen on her lips.

Then, she threw the bomb into the group and said with a smile, "The one with a death wish is right above you."

Upon hearing that, all the guards looked up.

When they saw a woman sitting on the roof, playing with a bomb in her hand, they exclaimed in shock and anger.

"Who are you? Don't you know where you are?"

Freya blinked and responded, "Isn't this the royal palace?"

"Since you know it's the royal palace, why don't you come down and accept your punishment?"

Freya smiled and threw the bomb at them.

Boom!

Another loud explosion rang out as the bomb destroyed the royal palace's council chamber.

The guards were all in a panic.

Could she be a terrorist from another country?

One of them realized the seriousness of the situation and quickly went to inform Kevin.

Freya did not stop him, calmly pulled out a bomb with a timer from her pockets. She then jumped up and tied it to a window on the second floor.

After doing all that, she pressed a button on her remote control. Soon, the timer could be heard beeping away.

"You have one hour to disarm it, or the whole palace will be blown up."

Thank goodness for Brian and Brody. She would not have this many bombs otherwise.

With the explosives in her hands, she had more than enough to blow up the royal palace and the duke's palace.

The guards were panicking hard. Someone scrambled over to disarm the bomb.

Freya yawned and shifted to lie down on the roof so that she could continue watching them panic.

"You need to be faster. If you don't disarm it in an hour, the palace will be destroyed and you will also die."

Freya spoke in a languid tone.

They looked fearfully at her. She was a stunning woman with an ethereal appearance and long hair tied high in a ponytail.

People said a woman's heart was unpredictable, and the more beautiful a woman was, the more akin she was to a venomous serpent.

How could a woman who looked so beautiful be so cruel?

Someone fiercely spat out, "I advise you to disarm the bomb. If the king finds out, he will not have mercy on you."

"Noisy," Freya grumbled as she looked at the man before a cold gleam flashed in her hands.

A small silver needle pierced into the speaker's throat.

The man held a hand up to his neck, but could not say another word.

"After I deal with all of you, I will properly deal with your king. None of you will be able to escape."

"Who are you exactly? Why are you doing this?"

Freya smiled upon hearing that. "Your king decided to oppose the duke, so he sent me here to blow up this palace. Once he takes the throne, he plans to rebuild the royal palace as he finds this place… unsatisfactory."

Her bold declaration left the guards dumbfounded.

She's from the duke?

The duke had the nerve to desire the throne and go after the king. That was simply unforgivable.

"What you are doing is treason, a grave crime punishable by death. Once His Majesty learns of this, he will surely destroy the duke's palace."

"Go on. Better send someone to the duke's palace right away for retribution since the duke is preparing a great gift for you!"

Freya proudly tossed her hair.

She refused to believe that after tonight, the relationship between Kevin and Ian would not deteriorate.

The fires she sparked tonight were ones that could not be easily extinguished.

The guard did not dare to act rashly, however. The men previously sent away to report to Kevin had not returned, but they also did not dare to send anyone else out.

If this really was a trap, then His Majesty would fall for it if he came.

Time slowly ticked away with everyone standing in front of the bomb, unsure of which wire to cut.

"What should we do? If the palace is bombed, the king will never forgive us."

"If the palace is bombed, none of us can escape death. Stop thinking about that and just figure out how to disarm the bomb!"

"Do you know how to disarm a bomb?"

"No, this is the specialty of the Duke's children. We have no idea!"

Meanwhile…

At Kevin's palace.

"Reporting in!"

A guard, panting heavily, burst in.

Kevin had recently been staying at the palace to recuperate with a beautiful maid by his side.

The maid was currently giving him a massage when he heard the news. His face darkened as he asked, "What's the matter?"

"Your Majesty, something terrible has happened! A woman has barged into the palace, bombed the council hall, and is upstairs with a timed bomb. She threatened to blow up the entire palace."

Upon hearing that, Kevin abruptly stood up with an extremely grim look on his face.

"Who is this person?" he asked.

"S-She was sent by the Duke's palace. She claims the Duke intends to blow up the palace, and after ascending the throne, he plans to rebuild a more perfect palace," the guard nervously said.

Kevin slammed a hand against the table in anger while his lips trembled.

The woman serving by his side frowned as her face was filled with disbelief.

"Your Majesty, could there be a misunderstanding? Perhaps this woman is impersonating someone from the Duke's palace. It's also a possibility!" she said.

"No matter if it's an impostor, I have to go there in person."

How dare she bomb my palace! I don't care if Ian sent her. There's no way he is unrelated to this.
