Chapter 421 Finding a Scapegoat

Freya watched him fooling around with astonishment, wanting to struggle but being held down by him. She wanted to shout but worried about being discovered.

She felt a mix of anger and anxiety, itching to kick him with her foot.

Suddenly, her body quivered.

Shortly after, as though struck by lightning, she collapsed into his arms.

Her mind went blank, her damp eyelashes trembling.

She heard the man's low, husky voice in her ears, "Freya, do you find this secretive game enjoyable?"

Freya blushed deeply, shooting him a hateful glare, then lowered her head to sink her teeth into his neck.

Bradley grunted.

Yet, he felt immensely content, seizing her chin once more and kissing her.

In the distance, Kevin's voice was heard.

"Duke, are you acquainted with Jessica as well?"

Ian was caught off guard by Kevin's presence.

He had been too anxious earlier and carelessly called out Jessica's name.

Now that Kevin inquired, he found himself momentarily at a loss for explanation.

Before he could respond, a man's voice came from the room.

"Jessica, the door is locked, we're trapped inside."

"Sean, what's happening? Did you offend someone? Why would someone attack us for no reason?"

Their conversation rang clear, every word distinctly audible to the Logan brothers.

Ian's expression darkened.

Moments ago, someone had reported that Jessica and a man were seen together in broad daylight, and he was furious, immediately mobilizing people to rush over.

He never imagined that the woman who had been sleeping with him last night, promising to help him seize the throne, would now be enjoying herself with another man.

He clenched his fists tightly, his eyes burning with anger.

Kevin's expression mirrored his own displeasure.

Someone arrived with news, claiming Jessica had been abducted. He personally led a rescue mission, only to find out she wasn't kidnapped but was with another man.

Both of them had their own thoughts for a moment.

Suddenly, the door was kicked open, and two individuals rushed out, wrapped in bedsheets.

They thought they had escaped danger, but to their surprise, they found a crowd in the courtyard.

"Why are you here?"

Jessica's expression soured when she saw Ian and Kevin.

Her clothes had been burnt just now, so she had hastily fled wrapped in a bedsheet.

Although she covered up what needed to be covered, the marks inflicted by Sean on her thighs, arms, and neck, were all visible.

They couldn't be covered at all.

Jessica felt like crying but couldn't shed any tears.

How could this happen?

She looked at Ian, wanting to go over and explain, then looked at Kevin, hesitating to speak.

"Jessica, come here."

At this moment, Kevin took the lead in speaking. His face was dark as he beckoned to Jessica.

Jessica bit her lip tightly, clenched her fists, and moved toward him.

With a loud slap, Kevin struck her hard on the face.

Jessica's petite body was thrown back, the bedsheets slipping off, exposing a beautiful body.

She fell into the hiding place of Freya and Bradley, startling the two who were kissing passionately, prompting them to hurriedly stop.

Freya glared at Bradley, feeling both embarrassed and annoyed, signaling for him to stop fooling around.

It was a critical moment; any further action would surely lead to discovery.

Fortunately, Bradley only held her, smiling contentedly without making any advances.

Ian watched as Jessica was slapped, his eyes turning red.

He wanted to step forward and take her away, asking her why she betrayed him.

But the situation didn't permit him to do so at all.

He looked at Kevin angrily, then called the guards over to arrest Sean.

"Duke, this is all Jessica's fault, she came to me on her own, it has nothing to do with me."

At this critical moment, Sean couldn't care less about their tender moments just now and immediately pushed Jessica out to shield himself from the blame.

Jessica was taken aback by the sudden betrayal of the man who had just pledged to assist her.

With a resentful glare, she erupted into tears, pleading, "Your Majesty, he coerced me. I didn't wrong you in any way."

Kevin's eyes narrowed in fury as he commanded someone to remove Sean before kicking Jessica.

"You despicable wretch, I heard everything from outside."

The forceful kick struck her abdomen, eliciting a scream from Jessica, followed by a trickle of blood from her thighs.

Pale-faced and clutching her stomach, she cried out, "Help, save my child!"

Ian clenched his fists tightly.

And Kevin remained fixated on Jessica.

Approaching her menacingly, he demanded, "Whose child is in your belly?"

Although he had been with Jessica, he had taken precautions every time, so it was impossible for her to get pregnant.

In other words, she has been fooling around with other men for a long time behind his back.

The notion of being cuckolded further enraged Kevin, prompting him to grab her neck forcefully.

With no way out, Jessica turned to Ian for help.

"Duke, save me, save our child."

At this juncture, they had no choice but to find a scapegoat.

With Steve already dead, this child represented her hope, a hope she couldn't afford to lose.

Hearing this, Kevin's eyes were filled with anger.

He looked at Ian and asked, "Is the child in her belly yours?"

Ian's appearance was now understood; it appeared that Jessica had been involved with not only Sean, but also Ian.

He is the majestic king of the country, but he shares a woman with other men.

This is humiliating!

Although Ian aspired to the throne, he lacked the courage to confront Kevin at present.

With a chuckle, he remarked, "I only have two sons, Brian and Brody. Where did this extra child come from?"

"Tsk, tsk, so it's true, men in this world are worse than dogs!"

Freya reflected upon Ian's words, gaining a new perspective on deceitful men.

They shower you with affection in good times, professing love, but abandon you in times of trouble.

As she spoke, she felt a tightening around her waist and warm breath on her face.

Turning, she was met with a magnified image of a handsome face.

"Who's worse than a dog, hm?"

She lowered her eyes guiltily.

How could she have overlooked someone so significant standing right beside her?

She let out a brief sigh, inadvertently involving him in the conversation.

"I meant Ian and that Sean, not you."

"Then what am I?"

His fingertip lifted her chin as he spoke in a deep voice.

Freya met his intense gaze, feeling a nervous lump in her throat, and replied, "Stop teasing!"

Should she label him as a beast?

In this situation, being so provocative isn't appropriate.

He shouldn't play around like this.

Bradley noticed her flushed face, gently tapped her forehead, and then pulled her into a hug.

"I'm not like all the other men. My feelings for you will remain unchanged until the end. Even if everything falls apart, I'll be the one by your side."

With each word, he emphasized his unwavering affection, his dark eyes brimming with an indomitable love that couldn't be shaken.
