Chapter 426 Provocation between Love Rivals

"Shadow, have you ever loved someone?" Shadow One bit her lip as she looked at him, tears welling up in her eyes. "You haven't, so you don't know what it feels like to love someone. I have loved him for so many years, it's already deeply etched in my heart, I can't just erase it."

"If you're asking me to give up, it's easier for me to die!"

Shadow looked at her desperate state, shaking his head helplessly.

It seemed that no matter what he said, his sister wouldn't come to her senses.

"Brother, where are those photos? Are they in Mr. Bradley's hands?"

"How dare you mention the photos again?!" Shadow angrily shook off her hand. "I'll go back to the organization to take responsibility. You pack up now and come with me."

"No, I won't leave."

"It's not up to you whether you agree or not. I've already talked to Mr. Bradley, and you must leave with me."

Who knows what trouble she might cause if he leave her here.

She was his only sister, and he couldn't just stand by and watch her continue to make mistakes.

"Shadow, if you force me, I'll die right now for you to see."

Shadow One's emotions were running high as she pulled out the dagger from her waist and pressed it against her own neck.

Shadow was startled, quickly stopping her. "Shadow One, don't be rash!"

"If I don't even have the right to love someone, what's the point of me being alive?"

"If you loved an ordinary person, I would naturally help you fight for it, but he is Mr. Bradley, someone you can never have in your lifetime." Shadow took a step closer, but Shadow One stepped back.

He watched helplessly as the dagger cut the skin and blood seeped out.

Anxious, he tried to coax her, "Okay, don't act so rashly. I won't force you."

He understood Shadow One’s temper. Once she became stubborn, she could do anything.

"Shadow, even if he doesn't love me, I still want to be by his side. As long as I can look at him, I'll be satisfied."

This was just a lip service, as that wasn't what she actually thought.

In the past, without Freya's presence, she might have chosen to protect Bradley.

But now, she had a change of heart. She was no longer happy merely being in his presence.

What she wanted was to... claim him as her own.

Even if she couldn't, she wouldn't let others have him!

Shadow sighed helplessly as he watched her stubbornness.

She was his only sister. Should he just let her continue down this path of depravity?

As expected, Freya didn't let Bradley step into her room again.

This silent treatment lasted for a week.

Bradley went to Wolf Mountain every day, sometimes returning home, but mostly late at night.

He stood at the door of the bedroom without getting any response from her, and finally had to return to the study to sleep.

After several days had passed, Matthew began to sense that something was amiss.

On this particular day, he sat on the sofa with a lack of enthusiasm, feeling discontent.

Observing his mood, Ella asked out of curiousity, "What's the matter? Who upset you?"

"Auntie Ella, do adults usually take a long time to reconcile after an argument?"

Matthew asked, perplexed.

After hearing this, Ella finally understood why he was unhappy.

Ella replied, "Sometimes adults need time to cool off, so it might take longer. But once they sort things out, they'll naturally patch things up."

Ella felt a little guilty.

It was she who had sent the photos to Freya, sparking this silent battle between her and Bradley.

She hadn't anticipated Freya's intense reaction, leading to Bradley's being kicked out.

"But Mom and Dad have been at odds for a week now. I see Dad standing at the door of their room every day, but Mom never comes out. What if they don't reconcile? What should we do?".

Their room was directly across from theirs.

He knew that Bradley came back every day.

"It'll be okay. They'll make up in a few days," Ella reassured him.

"Really?"

"Absolutely, when have I ever deceived you?"

After consoling Matthew, Ella went to find Freya.

She has been occupied in the medical room for the past few days.

Although Mina's condition has improved, a suitable heart has not yet been found, and there are still occasional emergencies.

Freya was in the middle of examining her when Ella gently opened the door and entered.

"Freya, do you have a moment to talk?"

Seeing this, Freya said to Peter, "Uncle Lynch, please excuse me."

"Sure, go ahead."

She left and headed to the adjacent office with Ella.

"Dr. Jackson didn't show up today, so you might have your hands full."

"I'm not seeking him out, I'm looking for you."

"What do you want from me?" Freya massaged her temples.

"You've been avoiding Bradley for some time now. It's been seven days. I sent you those photos not to cause a rift between you two."

Ella felt helpless. If she had known it would upset Freya so much, she would have reconsidered sending them.

Now, it had escalated to the point where they were living separately.

"This isn't your fault. Even if those photos didn't exist, we would have ended up here eventually."

Shadow One's face flashed in her mind. She had long suspected her motives.

Her behavior toward Freya had been too obvious. What she had initially dismissed now seemed like deliberate provocation between rivals.

"Because of Shadow One?"

"Yes."

Freya admitted it.

"Actually, you don't need to worry about that woman. She's been with Bradley for so many years, if she wanted to harm him, she would have had plenty of chances. Moreover, Bradley is completely devoted to you. I believe he wouldn't betray you."

"I understand all that. I'm just upset that Shadow One had so many swimsuit photos and kept them hidden for so long,"

She felt agitated at the thought.

Those were her husband's private photos, and she should be the only one keeping them.

"I've hacked her phone. She won't be able to retrieve those photos."

Ella found Freya's jealousy somewhat unreasonable.

And Bradley, in the end, was somewhat innocent.

Hearing this, Freya narrowed her eyes, gazing deeply at her.

That look made her feel uneasy.

She quickly explained, "Don't look at me like that. After I sent you the photos, I erased all traces. Now, only you have them. You are the rightful owner of those photos."

"I'm exhausted. I need to rest."

She had no interest in continuing the conversation.

These days of silent treatment had taken their toll on her as well.

That obstinate man didn't even make the effort to reach out to her, let alone visit her.

If he had shown a little more care, perhaps she would have been more forgiving.

Freya resolved to continue ignoring him for another week!

Heading to the lounge, she laid down, restless and unable to sleep. Eventually, she sat up on the bed, feeling agitated.

She needed a distraction at times like this.

After some consideration, she opted to revisit the Duke's palace.

Last time, Brian slipped away, and she missed the opportunity to retrieve the signal flare.

This time, she was determined to coax out that elusive figure.

Mastering the art of explosives could potentially provide a significant advantage to Bradley.
