Immediately, a voice came, "Brian, what brings you to me again?"
Shadow Specter appeared at the entrance, his short stature resembling an underdeveloped child.
Surprisingly, he appeared to be almost the same height as Brian.
"Master, it's not me who came to find you, it's her..."
Brian pointed to Freya, pleading for help with his eyes.
"You are... Shadow Specter?"
Freya stared at the figure dressed in black before her.
The night was deep, but under the moonlight, besides his childlike body, his face looked like that of an adult.
"Who are you?"
Shadow Specter didn't expect that the one who lured him out would be a woman.
"It doesn't matter who I am. What matters is, I want to cooperate with you!"
"Master, she's the woman who threatened me with needles last time, saying she'd lure you out and learn explosives from you to deal with the Duke's palace."
Brian yelled, "Master, you must save me and kill this woman."
"Nonsense!"
Freya knocked him unconscious with one hand.
Upon witnessing this, Shadow Specter lunged at her, questioning, "Who's this blonde girl, audacious enough to harm my disciple!"
Freya evaded his attack and entered into combat with him.
However, what astonished her even more was his remarkable agility despite his diminutive size.
This man was truly a proficient fighter!
"Shadow Specter, I'm not here to engage in combat with you. If you're willing to collaborate with me, I can assist you in accomplishing your desires."
Freya gradually retreated, solely focused on defense rather than offense.
"What kind of collaboration? I've retired and no longer accept tasks."
"I wish to acquire your expertise in explosives!"
"Are you proposing to become my apprentice?"
Shadow Specter paused, deeply furrowing his brows at her.
"No, you dictate the terms, and I'll learn from you."
She already had enough masters, and revealing she was taking on another one would surely anger the other two.
"You don't want to be my apprentice, yet you want to learn? Who do you think I, Shadow Specter, am? Moreover, I only impart my skills to apprentices. If you're unwilling to become my apprentice, you won't learn explosives from me!"
Shadow Specter leaped onto a nearby tree, swinging his legs back and forth, his large black eyes fixed on Freya.
"I notice your legs don't appear to be in good condition. You teach me explosives, and I'll aid in treating your ailment. How about that?"
Shadow Specter was taken aback as he heard her words.
"How do you know about my leg condition?"
"I'm skilled in traditional medicine. I can diagnose your ailment with just a glance."
From Shadow Specter's demeanor earlier to now, Freya had observed that his gait seemed abnormal, hinting at an underlying ailment.
Now, Shadow Specter was even more astonished.
A young girl with exceptional martial skills was also proficient in medicine. She was quite remarkable!
Indeed, he suffered from a leg ailment.
Years ago, he had withdrawn from society due to the pain in his legs, spending most of his time secluded in the mountains.
Over the years, the leg ailment had recurred numerous times, each episode rendering him bedridden for several days.
Despite seeking treatment from renowned doctors, his condition remained incurable.
Now that someone was willing to assist with his ailment, he was naturally eager.
"May I ask, who are you?"
"I'm Lexi."
Upon hearing this, Shadow Specter was so stunned that he nearly fell off the tree.
Lexi?
Wasn't that the renowned doctor who had vanished for several years and was now living in seclusion?
"Are you truly Lexi?"
"Every word is true."
Freya arched an eyebrow and smiled faintly.
Shadow Specter jumped down from the tree, gazing at her incredulously, "If you're truly Lexi and you cure my leg ailment, I'll impart my lifelong expertise in explosives to you."
"Not only explosives, I also wish to learn bomb-making techniques."
"No problem"
Shadow Specter immediately agreed.
If she was an ordinary woman, he naturally wouldn't share his techniques so easily.
But the person in front of him was Lexi, the female Great Doctor who could save his life.
"Alright, let's meet here tomorrow morning, and I'll administer your first acupuncture session."
Shadow Specter agreed, handing her a signal flare. "Before you arrive, activate the signal flare, and I'll emerge."
His leg couldn't endure prolonged standing, which is why he had entrusted the signal flare to the Logan boys, advising them to use it only in dire situations.
After arranging matters with Shadow Specter, Freya woke Brian up with a needle before departing.
Considering their remote location in the mountains, any wild beast that emerged could pose a threat to the child.
Though she would eventually assist Bradley in removing Ian Logan, the transgressions of parents shouldn't adversely affect children!
Upon returning to the villa, it was already late at night.
After showering, Freya heard footsteps outside her door.
It was a recurring nighttime disturbance for the past week.
Bradley lingered outside, his clenched fist revealing his inner turmoil. Ultimately, he refrained from knocking.
His demeanor exuded an icy chill, his handsome face betraying signs of fatigue.
She had requested time to herself, and he respected that wish.
Yet, a week had passed, and she still avoided him.
Bradley felt as though he were losing his mind!
Unable to contain himself any longer, he spoke up.
"Freya, are you asleep?"
At that moment, Freya stood on the other side of the door. They were separated only by a door.
With the door unlocked, a simple push would grant him access to her presence.
Listening to his raspy voice, her eyes stung with emotion, her mood fraught with tension.
"I understand your anger, but I genuinely had no knowledge of the photos. Shadow has confessed to everything, and I've sent him back to face the consequences. I assure you, such incidents will never happen again in the future."
Shadow's fault?
Pure nonsense.
What sane adult takes photos of other men swimming?
Furthermore, the incriminating photos were discovered on Shadow One's phone. It was evident he was covering for Shadow One.
The anguish Freya had just experienced dissipated entirely.
Feeling sulky, she returned to bed, pulling the blanket over her face.
Not receiving her response, Bradley felt a bit lonely inside.
Just as he was about to push the door to check on her, he heard Shadow One's voice behind him.
"Mr. Bradley, may I have a word with you?"
Of course, Freya heard the conversation at the door.
So Shadow took the blame for everything, yet Shadow One was still here and hadn't left?
In an instant, her jealousy flared up again, and she rolled around on the bed in frustration.
"What is it?"
Bradley looked at Shadow One with a cold expression.
"I want to explain about those photos."
Shadow One decided to confess proactively after pondering for a moment.
She believed Bradley already had suspicions about her. If he were to investigate on his own and found out the truth, she wouldn't stand a chance of staying by his side in the future.
Upon hearing this, Bradley furrowed his brows deeply.
Then, he strode off towards the study.
Shadow One followed at a distance, maintaining a respectful distance. Once they entered the study, she immediately knelt before him.
"Mr. Bradley, the matter of the photos is entirely my fault. Please punish me!"
Squinting, Bradley asked, "Who took those photos?"
"It was the maid at the time, who had a crush on you, Mr. Bradley. She secretly took them. I ordered her to hand over her phone immediately and intended to give it to you, but..."
