Chapter 479 Letting the Real Culprit Face Justice

Someone quickly went to contact Officer Chambers.

Twenty minutes later, Officer Chambers appeared with a big smile on his face, his zipper not properly done up, and lipstick marks from a woman were still visible on his face, clearly indicating recent indiscretions.

Seeing him like this, the chief was so angry that he kicked him, "Who gave you the authority to detain Miss Lawson for twenty-four hours? Do you know who she is?"

"Chief, she is suspected of murder. Without sufficient evidence to prove her innocence, what was the mistake in detaining her according to the procedure? Even if her identity is not ordinary, she will bear criminal responsibility if she makes a mistake."

The chief glanced at Bradley. The other party was so imposing and flamboyant. He had heard that Bradley was sent by the dark web, and he couldn't afford to offend him.

He reached out and slapped Officer Chambers' forehead, whispering through gritted teeth, "You can't afford to offend the power of the dark web. Release her immediately, otherwise, not only me, even if the higher-ups come, they won't be able to save you."

Upon hearing this, Officer Chambers' face turned ugly.

He had heard that Freya had a lot of power behind her, but he didn't expect that she was actually connected to the dark web.

What was the dark web?

That was an organization that could shake the entire international situation, involving both good and bad, and anyone who offended this organization would not end well.

Officer Chambers' legs were trembling. He didn't know if it was from excessive indulgence or from being frightened.

His voice was trembling, "Go, go and release Miss Lawson immediately."

After receiving the order, his subordinates quickly went to the detention room.

At this moment, Freya was sitting in a chair dozing off. Suddenly, she heard the sound of the door being pushed open and woke up abruptly.

Seeing it was the duty officer, she squinted unhappily, "What's up?"

"Miss Lawson, someone has come to bail you out."

But Freya remained seated, "The twenty-four hours aren't up yet, did you make a mistake?"

"No mistake, the chief has come in person and allowed you to leave."

"Oh, I can leave? But I feel that it's quite peaceful here now, suitable for sleeping. Suddenly, I don't feel like leaving. Go tell your chief, let me stay here for twenty-four hours and then release me."

The officer encountered someone refusing to leave for the first time. He turned and went back to the lobby, informing the chief of what happened.

"Chief, Miss Lawson says she won't leave. She wants to stay until twenty-four hours have passed."

"What?"

The chief's eyes widened in disbelief.

He looked at Bradley and smiled, "Miss Lawson refuses to leave. Why don't you go and persuade her? I'm afraid my men might be rough, and it wouldn't be good if they accidentally hurt Miss Lawson."

Bradley frowned deeply.

What game was this woman playing? Did she really want to spend a night at the police station?

He strode towards the detention room, and from afar, he heard voices coming from inside, "I told you, inviting a god is easy, but sending them away is hard. You've brought me to the station twice in one day for tea. I'm in a bad mood, so I'm staying here."

"Fine. Whatever makes you happy."

A deep male voice came from behind, causing Freya's heart to skip a beat as she abruptly turned her head.

Their eyes met for a moment, and the atmosphere froze briefly.

Bradley strode towards her and sat down directly beside her. "We'll leave in twenty hours."

"Honey, y-you said you would be back in two or three days?"

Freya didn't expect to disturb him again. Both times she had been taken to the police station, he had come to bail her out.

She hadn't been supportive but instead had become a burden to him, and she was suddenly filled with intense guilt.

"I originally planned for that many days, but when you were framed for murder, how could I not intervene?" He reached out and played with her hair, his tone filled with deep concern.

Freya leaned her face against his chest and coquettishly said, "You said I was framed, so naturally, I have a way to uncover the truth. Why bother coming here yourself? I can handle this little matter on my own."

"Handle it? Why endure the detention, hm?"

"I…"

She couldn't say that it was because she didn't want to go to Leiton Island to see Felix, so she lingered in the police station.

"Alright, listen to me, come home with me now." The man spoke and bent down to lift her, but Freya stopped him.

"No, I can't go home now."

"Why?"

"Honey, please don't ask, okay? I have my reasons for doing this, and besides, these people are no match for me. I won't be wronged by staying here."

She couldn't leave; if she did, she wouldn't have any excuse to stall her master.

So she had to stay here honestly until nine o'clock tomorrow morning.

Seeing her like this, Bradley felt helpless. "Freya, unless you give me a reason that's absolutely necessary for you to stay, I'll have to take you away even if I have to force you."

Originally, he had planned not to return home for these two or three days, pretending to cooperate with Lucy.

Who knew this girl wouldn't stay put and got caught by the police in the middle of the night? He was worried and couldn't handle so much, so he rushed over to bail her out.

But now, after all this fuss, she told him she didn't want to leave, which he couldn't accept.

"Lily is dead, and the murderer has been caught. He's being detained in the interrogation room next door. I plan to deal with him tonight and force him to tell the truth, giving Lily justice."

"Let the police investigate these matters. Why bother interfering?"

"If I don't interfere, the murderer will probably be released tomorrow. Officer Chambers is deliberately targeting me; there's clearly something wrong. If I'm not mistaken, this matter is related to Lucy's escape."

Despite all the evidence proving her innocence, Officer Chambers insisted on detaining her until enough evidence was found to release her.

With their eye contact and interaction with the murderer, it was clear they were conspiring something secretive, indicating that these two were both acting under the same person.

"I'll handle these matters, you focus on the lawsuit three days from now. I guarantee these people won't hinder you, and you'll win the lawsuit smoothly."

Bradley reached out and gently touched her head. "Be good, it's uncomfortable to sleep here. Let's go home."

"It's only a few hours until dawn. I promise to clear everything before then, okay?" Freya clung to his arm, her bright eyes shimmering like the cleanest crystal, causing ripples in the man's heart.

He sighed lightly in helplessness. "If you really want to stay, then I'll stay with you."

"…"

Freya knew she couldn't drive him away, so she simply agreed.

She arranged several chairs together and gestured, "You can sleep here. I'll be back soon."

With that, she was about to leave.

Bradley reached out and grabbed her hand. "Let's go together."

After a moment of consideration, she finally agreed to go with him to find the man with the stubble.

It was clear that this person was being manipulated, but she didn't care about the other party's motives. She just wanted to investigate the whole matter thoroughly and ensure that the real culprit faced justice!
