Chapter 482 Woman on the Phone

"Oh, no! I'm not done having fun yet, Boss!"

"If you want to keep having fun, why don't you follow my suggestion and try your luck in the entertainment industry?"

Her figure flickered away from the living room and instantly vanished.

From afar came her voice. "Boss, what's so good about the entertainment industry? Why not just send me to Leiton Island? I heard you released Felix's pigeons today. It seems you don't like him. Can you tell Master to give me this opportunity instead?"

Freya was speechless.

This bold woman was still chanting about Felix.

Freya massaged her temples, about to reply when her phone buzzed.

She glanced at the screen and saw Bradley's name.

The man's deep voice soothed her as she picked up the phone. "The trial is tomorrow. Where are you running off to?"

Oops, she got caught sneaking out again.

After leaving the police station, she promised Bradley to stay home until the trial.

However, she couldn't stop thinking about Lily's death these past several days, and it made her more unwilling. So, she took the chance to sneak out while Bradley wasn't home.

Who knew he would come back so early?

"Honey, I'm just going out to handle a quick thing and I'll be back in a jiffy. You're busy, right? Don't worry about me. I'm confident I'll win the case tomorrow."

The wind rustled on the other end, telling her he was outside.

"I have faith in you, Sweetheart. But let me tell you, even if I can't stand by your side and win this trial together, my heart will always be with you."

Freya smiled and said coquettishly, "Got it, Honey. I've always known you've supported me behind the scenes, but this is a grudge between me and Selena. I want to settle things with her myself. Plus, the way Lily died was so tragic. I'll never find peace if I don't see Selena behind bars."

"I know," Bradley said in a deep voice. "I've always known your sense of loyalty and righteousness. You wouldn't have acted so ruthlessly if you weren't pushed to the limit. I'm worried that Lucy might interfere in tomorrow's trial, so I've asked Patrick to have people stationed near the courthouse. If you need anything, you can command them at any time. After tomorrow's trial, I'll personally celebrate for you."

"My love, thank you for spoiling me so much. Once I settle the score with Selena, I promise to stay by your side obediently and not cause you trouble."

Bradley chuckled softly at her words. "Silly girl, you're like an angel sent by heaven to help me. You have been helping me solve problems since you appeared. How could I ever call that trouble?"

"Where are you?" Freya listened to the increasing wind outside with some suspicion.

"You caught me. I'm not home yet. I'm still outside and won't be back tonight. I miss you, so I wanted to hear your voice."

Freya sighed, rubbing her temples. Had he accidentally revealed his true feelings with just a simple question?

She walked to the balcony with her phone in hand. "The Logans' destruction plan is almost ready, right? Why are you still so busy?"

"I need to wrap up a few things here, but these busy days are almost done."

Freya was about to say something when a timid female voice came through.

"Leo, aren't you done with your call yet?"

Freya held her breath.

Bradley sensed something was amiss on the other end of the line and quickly said, "Honey, I have something to take care of. I'll hang up first."

The phone quickly rang with a series of beeps.

Freya grabbed onto her phone on the couch for a long time.

Bradley was out there with ... other women?

What might they be doing alone at this late hour?

Freya clutched her chest, feeling suffocated as her face contorted in distress.

She realized the altered voice wasn't Shadow One's.

Yet, there was a hint of familiarity in it. Who could it be?

Her mind was chaotic, refusing to believe that Bradley would deceive her.

So, was he spending all those nights with this woman?

Could it be true that Bradley would leave her in the future for someone younger and more attractive, as her Master said?

Freya sat there numbly. Her mind went blank.

She took a deep breath and dialed his number.

Despite everything, she needed to hear his explanation. She desperately hoped Bradley would never lie.

Freya felt nervous as the phone continued to ring, but no one answered.

Could he be deliberately ignoring her calls?

Freya's grip tightened on her phone as she dialled the number repeatedly but to no avail.

Her mind raced with questions, trying to understand why he wouldn't answer her calls.

She felt like she was going to have a mental breakdown since so many pictures were racing through her mind.

No, it couldn't be true.

Bradley loved her so much. How could he possibly betray her?

She would never have believed it without seeing it.

She grabbed her coat and left the flat, rushing back to the villa.

There was no sign of Bradley. He certainly wasn't at home.

"Freya, you're back. I saved you a bowl of nourishing soup. Come and drink it."

Ella's voice echoed in her ears, pulling her back from her thoughts.

Freya took a deep breath and turned to her. "Where is Patrick? I need to see him."

"He's in the infirmary. What's wrong?"

Freya left in a hurry without another word.

If Bradley didn't answer her call, she could ask Patrick.

She believed Patrick knew everything as his best friend.

"Freya, nourishing soup is best consumed while it's still warm ..."

Before she could even mention drinking it, Freya vanished into the darkness.

Worried that something had happened, Ella followed after her.

At the infirmary.

Patrick was studying the poison's components when the lab door suddenly swung open.

He spun around to see Freya, his eyes widening in surprise. "Freya, what's wrong? You look terrible."

Freya composed herself and approached him.

"Dr. Perry." She hesitated, her voice barely a whisper. "What has Bradley been up to lately?"

She wondered if she was overthinking things on her way there. That woman might be helping him with something, but nothing more.

As everyone knew, women tended to overthink things.

Not getting an answer would keep her up tonight.

"There are still some things Solterra that need to be wrapped up, so he's been busy with that," Patrick said sheepishly, not daring to look at her. He couldn't tell Freya that Bradley was pretending to work with Lucy to teach her a lesson and was with her right now.

"What exactly is it? Can I help?" Freya inquired further.

Patrick was unable to explain, so he feigned ignorance. "I'm not sure. Gabriel is currently in charge of Solterra's affairs. If you are truly curious, you may ask Gabriel. He might have the answers you're searching for."
