Chapter 484 Is the Queen Coming?

Beau grabbed her hand and grinned lustfully. "How could I ever mind you? We're the best partners in bed. Once I start working for the royal family, I'll ask Princess Lucy for her blessing and marry you."

Selena's lips twitched viciously.

How could she marry such a worthless man?

She only slept with him to further frame Freya for murder, but what did it get her?

Freya still couldn't be convicted and she couldn't even find Luke to kill him.

The possibility that Leo might not be dead and could reveal her identity made her very uneasy.

"Luke should be escorted over soon. I'll check on him. "

"Go ahead."

After seeing Beau off, Selena linked her arm with Mr. Clark's. "Don't worry, Director. You're the one I truly desire. My relationship with Beau is nothing more than a charade. Once Freya is convicted, I'll sever ties with him and become your wife."

Mr. Clark squeezed her hand and raised an eyebrow with a smile. "We're also just playing along, Miss Selena. There's no need to take it seriously. Besides, I'm already married. Please remember our cooperation agreement. Once this case is over, we'll go our separate ways.'"

"Wow, I can't believe you're acting like this after we spent the night together," she sneered. She didn't like Mr. Clark either because his sly demeanor.

But he was better in bed than Beau and could always make her float.

Mr. Clark's eyes gleamed with an evil glow beneath the gold frame, knowing they might not have another chance to cooperate after today.

Selena's risky strategy to handle Freya was incredibly fragile. During the trial, she'd be exposed as a killer, lose badly, and possibly get arrested on the spot.

Even Lucy's intervention wouldn't be enough to save her.

He wanted to toy with her a bit longer. After all, her seductive charm was captivating, nearly causing his old bones to crumble.

It would be a pity to destroy her like this.

"Selena, if you can win this lawsuit, I might consider changing our agreement."

Mr. Clark gave her an unrealistic hope as he embraced Selena's waist and squeezed firmly.

"How annoying," Selena giggled coyly. she might've fallen into Mr. Clark's arms right away if they weren't in court.

"By the way, I had someone inquire about the situation and heard that Freya's husband didn't show up at the trial. I'm guessing he's lost faith in her and plans to let her fend for herself. After all, defending someone accused of murder is a serious crime in itself. Who would want to get involved in such a mess?"

"Perhaps, but I'll look into other plans." Mr. Clark pushed his glasses up, secretly amused by Selena's ignorance.

"What other plans possibly exist? All you men are the same. When danger strikes, you scatter like birds. Once your ex-wife falters, you're off chasing after a new love. Isn't that how it usually goes?"

Mr. Clark raised an eyebrow, smiling but remaining silent.

Selena strutted like a proud peacock, oblivious to the impending disaster. "It seems that Freya is here. I'm going to watch the fun."

"Alright."

...

Outside the courthouse.

Two uniformed officers escorted Freya out of the car.

Ella had been waiting nearby and quickly greeted her as she descended.

"Have you prepared all the evidence I asked you to?" whispered Freya as she passed Ella.

Ella winked at her. "Don't worry, everything is set. We're just waiting for the fish to bite. Once this trial starts, I doubt Selena will be laughing anymore. Are you planning to reveal your identity in court, Freya?"

"Let's see how it goes!"

If it came to a point where it was necessary to disclose it, then she would.

It was time to reveal her identity after years of hiding it.

As soon as Freya appeared, the reporters outside the courtyard flocked around her like bees.

The flashing fluorescent lights rang out, stinging Freya's eyes.

A group of auxiliary police officers stopped reporters outside and, after exiting the police car, split a road for Freya.

The sight seemed more like a royal entrance than a criminal arrest.

The reporters exchanged bewildered glances.

Had they seen it wrong?

How could the criminal's aura be so powerful?

Freya stepped onto the platform. Despite the journalists' eagerness for headlines, armed auxiliary police stationed at the door deterred anyone from venturing even a step closer to the muzzle of their guns.

Just as Freya entered the courtroom, she met with Selena.

Freya spoke up before Selena could make a sarcastic comment. "Yo, isn't this Selena? I heard you hired a bunch of internet trolls to attack me. I'm looking forward to your performance today. Make it good and don't let me down."

This bitch ...

She was still so cocky, even on her last legs.

Selena's mouth twisted into a sneer. "I can't believe Mrs. Lawson is still laughing. Have you gone insane from being locked up? I've heard your charges go beyond just endangering consumer safety. You're also suspected of intentional homicide. If that case holds, you won't be facing mere detention. It'll be a lifetime behind bars."

Freya's expression turned cold at her words.

She could mention anything else, but not Lily's death.

Since Selena was the mastermind behind this matter, she had a gut to bring it up.

"Selena, you need to know when to cut your losses. Don't get too cocky now, or you'll be crying even harder later."

It was her way of giving Selena a chance.

If Selena were smart enough, she'd end this farce promptly. Still, she shouldn't expect mercy if she dug her own grave.

Ella smirked. It had been a while since she'd seen Freya unleash her wrath on scum like this. Once she went on the warpath, Selena's powerful connections couldn't save her today.

Selena showed no restraint, smirking triumphantly. "Let's see who ends up crying. Julia brand will suffer and you'll rot in jail. I'll ensure you have company, so you won't be lonely."

Freya squinted, chuckling softly.

A chance had been given. It was none of her business whether or not to cherish it.

Freya couldn't be bothered to engage with her further and strode forward. "The trial is about to begin and I need to prepare. I hope your performance is thrilling enough not to disappoint the entire world."

"Don't worry, you won't be disappointed," Selena sneered.

She glanced at her watch. It was already 9:30 a.m., and the people she had invited should be arriving soon.

Someone would help her deal with Freya so she could relax and wait for her imprisonment.

At that moment, a member of the court staff approached. "Mrs. Lawson, where is your defence lawyer? Haven't they arrived yet?"

"I don't have a lawyer."

Freya glanced at Ella beside her. "But ... if anyone has any questions, you can direct them to Miss Fisher. She can act as my lawyer."

The courtroom fell into a momentary stillness.

The staff member was baffled.

This woman was excessively confident. Wasn't she afraid of losing badly without a lawyer, especially in court?
