Chapter 485 Let's Focus on Tormenting the Scumbag

In the courtroom.

A middle-aged woman in a veil sat gracefully in a secluded corner.

Beside her sat a beautiful woman with blonde hair and big eyes, exuding an exotic charm.

The woman sprawled lazily across the table, twirling her golden hair between her fingers. "Master, let's get out of here before boss catches us."

"What's the rush? The trial hasn't even started. When Freya loses, just follow my lead and take her away. As Queen Sally's disciple, I can't let her be mistreated."

Queen Sally and White Fox had disguised themselves to infiltrate the prison.

Queen Sally heard that Freya had been detained two days ago and spared no effort to bail her out.

Who knew that the police station refused to release her because she was suspected of murder and could not be freed on bail?

She had no choice but to sneak into the courtroom to see what happened.

If Freya suffered any injustice, she would rescue her immediately.

"Master, trust me. Boss will be fine. She's Mystica, the top assassin, and Leonard Newman's woman. Who would dare mess with her?"

Soon after hearing "Leonard Newman," Queen Sally became agitated. "Don't talk to me about that loser, he can't even protect his woman. He's not fit for Freya or the title of Solterra's prince. He's just a joke."

"Hmm." White Fox helplessly massaged her temple. It seemed that her master had a great prejudice against Leonard.

But if her lord didn't let Leonard be her son-in-law, could she?

After seeing the opportunity, White Fox quickly hugged Queen Sally's arm.

"Master. If you dislike Leonard, then speed up Boss and Felix's matchmaking. Once they've tied the knot, Leonard will have to move on."

When Leonard felt down, she could comfort his wounded heart, and maybe he would turn to her.

White fox laughed softly as she thought about how lovely it was.

Seeing her daydreaming in broad daylight, Queen Sally slapped her directly on the forehead. "I don't approve of Freya and Leonard being together, but you shouldn't pursue him either."

"Why?" complained White Fox, rubbing her sore forehead forehead.

Queen Sally scoffed, "Don't think I don't know what you're up to. Even if Freya and Leonard get divorced, they'll still be ex-husbands and wives at the worst. What will people think if you get involved now?"

"I don't care." White Fox looked at Queen Sally with a touched expression. "Master, I know you love your kids the same and are always nice to me, even when favouring Boss. Don't worry. I have thick skin and can handle criticism. Even if they say I'm a wicked stepmother, I won't mind."

This made Queen Sally quiver and snort coldly. "It would be a blessing if you didn't cause trouble for others. Who would dare to provoke you? I'm only scared that you'll destroy Freya's reputation. After all, you are her subordinate. What will others think if she dumps her ex-husband and you immediately pursue him?"

"......"

All right, she was Freya's master anyway, and everything should be in Freya's best interest.

At most, she's riding on Freya's coattails to meet the Queen of Stolan.

Leonard was probably out of her league and Felix was much more unreachable.

White Fox's eyes darted around. Since the hunk wasn't meant to be, she would focus on punishing scum instead.

...

Twenty minutes later.

The trial began on time.

With everyone assembled, the plaintiff's lawyer began various accusations against the Julia brand.

With the eloquence lawyers are known for, he meticulously detailed Julia's numerous violations.

These businesses preach about consumer safety, but their actions don't match their words.

Ultimately, the judge consented to request the presence of witnesses.

They waited for a long time, but the witnesses failed to appear.

Just then, a commotion erupted among the courtroom audience.

It turned out that everyone's phones had buzzed with a breaking news alert.

"Sunny Linden, the witness, withdrew her lawsuit at the last minute, admitting that all evidence submitted to the court was fabricated. Sunny confessed that she was threatened to frame Julia brand and decided to acquit the brand out of guilt."

Below the picture was the evidence.

A video of special effects makeup.

It showed how she used special effects makeup to deceive the public and garner sympathy.

The court environment required all phones to be silent so the audience could focus on the visual display.

As the truth was gradually unveiled, gasps echoed through the room.

"What's happening? Sunny isn't disfigured. That festering appearance before was all fake."

"This special effects makeup is too realistic, right? It's amazing!"

"It turns out she was manipulated. The Julia brand is innocent."

"I knew it! How could my Julia brand do something so heinous? They were framed. Who could be so ruthless to frame the Julia brand like this?"

A buzz of discussion filled the room.

The judge scowled at the chaos. He struck the gavel loudly and looked sternly at the plaintiff.

"Plaintiff's lawyer, the witness, has withdrawn the lawsuit against the Julia brand. If you cannot provide better evidence to prove that Julia brand uses inferior materials that put consumer safety at risk, then this lawsuit cannot proceed."

The plaintiff's lawyer looked anxiously towards Selena's seat, realizing that the situation was not in their favour since the witness had withdrawn the suit.

Selena was likewise stunned. She had an agreement with Sunny and the others two days before, but now they were changing their minds. Could Freya have bought them off?

She glared at the defendant's bench, where Freya was pitying her like a clown.

After glaring back at her, Selena left the courtroom to call Sunny.

There was a down payment of two million, with the remaining eight million yet to be paid. Was Sunny planning to let go of all that money?

The "out of service" alert enraged her, nearly breaking her phone.

Damn it, what was going on here?

The judge reiterated his question, "If the plaintiff's witness cannot make it, we'll be forced to rule in favour of the defendant."

"Your Honor, please grant me a little more time. I've already instructed someone to contact other witnesses and we should have news soon."

"All right, this case has already caused a stir internationally and everyone is closely following the outcome of this trial. Since you still have new witnesses, I can give you five more minutes. If the witnesses still haven't arrived by then, the verdict of this trial will be invalidated."

"Thank you, Your Honor."

The lawyer wiped off his sweat and rushed out to find Selena.

Apart from some verbal testimonies, they had no concrete evidence to prove Julia Brand's guilt.

If the witness didn't show up, all their previous efforts would be in vain.
