Bradley dialed her number, his lips curling into a charming smile. "Is it over?"
"Yeah, just ended not long ago. I won."
"I knew it."
His deep voice resonated through the phone.
He had been with Lucy to buy time, preventing her from disrupting Freya's plan.
Of course, once he learned the trial was over, he had no intention of staying with her any longer. He only wanted to come and take his woman home.
Even if Lucy wanted to make amends now, it was already too late.
He had already made arrangements with the inspection bureau, ensuring that Selena wouldn't escape the death penalty this time.
As for Lucy … it wouldn't be long.
Once he took over Solterra, it would be her time to go!
"Did you bribe Bradley and Lisa bribed?"
Despite the swift victory in the trial, she still had many doubts.
First, Mr. Clark's betrayal, then Bradley and Lisa testifying against Selena in court. Even though the prosecutor had been bribed, they ultimately chose to stand on her side.
She wasn't foolish and knew someone was behind the scenes helping her with everything.
As for who that person was, she was well aware.
Just thinking about this man, amidst his hectic schedule, quietly solving all her problems, filled her with appreciation.
"I'll come to you. We'll talk more on the way there."
Across the street, the man gestured towards her.
Nodding, Freya watched as the man crossed the street at the traffic light, gradually approaching her.
With one hand in his pocket, his handsome face shone brilliantly beneath his sunglasses, his well-groomed hair adding to his allure. His tall and slender figure drew many glances along the way.
Observing the women ogling at him, as if they wanted to devour him, Freya frowned disapprovingly, then ran towards him with her phone in hand.
"Honey."
In front, the sound of a police whistle echoed, "Red light, red light, everyone back up."
The girls who were still admiring his handsome appearance all pouted with jealousy.
What a shame! Such a handsome man, and he's already taken!
Ahead, the traffic police blew their whistle, "Red light, red light, everyone back up."
The girls, too busy admiring the handsome man, missed the perfect time to cross the street and were all reprimanded by the police and sent back to the waiting area.
Bradley embraced Freya's waist as they hugged for a long time.
Until they heard the police whistle again by their ears, they held hands and crossed the street back to the car.
Once inside, the man eagerly pressed her against the seat and kissed her passionately for a long time, only letting go when their breathing became too heavy.
Freya nestled in his embrace, softly asking, "Honey, can you tell me now?"
"Mhmm."
The man held her on his lap, playing with her soft hair with his fingers before speaking softly.
"Yeah, I intercepted those two halfway. They were jittery and couldn't handle the pressure, so they spilled everything with just a little intimidation."
He then went on to tell her all about his plan, holding nothing back.
Starting with how he got Mr. Clark to sue Julia's store, then moving on to how he bought off all of Selena's witnesses, and finally how he managed to strike a deal with the prosecution office.
He laid it all out, clear and straightforward, without holding anything back.
Of course, he automatically filtered out anything related to his cooperation with Lucy.
The reason for concealing it was to prevent her from overthinking.
After pursing her lips, Freya looked at him deeply for a while. "You knew about my identity a long time ago, didn't you?"
The man affectionately flicked her nose and replied, "With your little tricks, could you really fool me?"
"But I concealed it so well, how could you possibly know?" Freya was puzzled, blinking her eyes rapidly.
Suddenly, she seemed to think of something and said, "Was it White Fox who leaked it?"
The little girl had mentioned before that Bradley had gone to see her.
Maybe she had been seduced by his charm and betrayed her directly!
The man found it amusing. "Everyone around you is as tight-lipped as a wall. How could I pry their mouths open?"
Indeed, even though White Fox might be infatuated, she still had some sense when it came to doing things.
As for Ella, she was her confidant, and it was even less likely for her to do such a thing.
Freya thought carefully. For someone like Bradley, investigating a person was as easy as pie.
Besides, she hadn't really intended to hide her identity as Julia from him.
I never thought my wife would turn out to be the world's top fashion designer,
Bradley said, although he had suspected it before, he was still surprised when he learned the news.
First, there was Mystica, the top assassin, then Poppy, the hacker, and now a designer. What would be next?
Bradley stared deeply at Freya. The confident gleam in her bright, watery eyes was dazzling and impossible to ignore.
How many secrets was this woman still hiding from me?
Feeling uncomfortable under his gaze, Freya touched her face. "Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?"
"Yes."
Bradley replied in a low voice, gently lifting her chin. "What should I do? You're so outstanding that I feel like I can't keep you by my side anymore."
Freya chuckled and pinched his cheek. "I'm more worried about not being able to keep an eye on you. Look at you, walking down the street and attracting so many flies and bees. You almost caused a car accident."
The man smiled, leaned down, and kissed her. "Are you jealous?"
"Yes!" Freya didn't deny it.
This man was hers, and only she could look at him. No one else.
"Also, who was the woman's voice on the phone last night?"
She hadn't forgotten about this matter, especially since this man hadn't called to explain all night, causing her to lose sleep.
Even though she had faith he wouldn't betray her, she still felt the need to hear his justification.
Just as Bradley was about to speak, there was a sudden knock on the car window.
He frowned and slowly rolled it down, revealing a stunningly beautiful face that slid into view.
Bradley was taken aback, a hint of coldness in his eyes.
"Leo, what a coincidence to meet here!"
Lucy greeted him, but her gaze passed through Bradley's shoulder, landing squarely on Freya.
So, Bradley's urgent matter was to come and pick up this woman!
Lucy suppressed her jealousy, clenched her fists, but still managed to keep a sympathetic smile on her face.
She had rushed to the courtroom, only to find it deserted, with Selena already taken into custody.
She tried calling the bribed prosecutor, only to have them hang up on her.
She was fuming, but then noticed a car parked by the roadside, obviously belonging to Bradley, so she approached it.
Freya hadn't expected to see Lucy there, and her brows furrowed deeply.
Especially when Lucy spoke, Freya finally understood why the woman's voice on the phone sounded so familiar—
turned out, it was Lucy herself!
Freya's expression towards Bradley changed completely.
He had been with Lucy all night yesterday—what had they, a single man and a single woman, been up to?
