Freya briefly explained the situation. After listening, Ella responded with disbelief. "Twenty years of brain death, and yet all indicators remain normal? It’s like being alive but dead!"
"Yes, the difficulty of treatment is very high, but I still want to try. Perhaps Warren’s fate isn’t meant to end just yet, and there might still be a chance for a miraculous recovery!" Freya replied.
She had encountered such cases before, but the duration of brain death had never been this long. Warren’s condition was exceptionally unique, so she couldn't be certain of the success rate. For now, they could only proceed step by step.
"Alright, focus on treating him. Maybe he’ll wake up before dawn and start a new life with his master. They couldn’t be together when they were young, but they might spend the rest of their lives together in the future!" Ella supported Freya despite her surprise.
"I should leave before dawn. I’ll refine the competition work and you can submit it to the organizers for review!"
The main reason for returning with Bradley was the international fashion design competition. With little time left before the competition began, there was no room for mistakes.
"It’s too late now. You’ve been traveling back and forth. Why not take a break? At this rate, I’m afraid your body won’t handle it!" Ella looked at her with concern. Over the years, Freya had been tirelessly working, never taking a break. She had hoped that following Bradley would change her life, but it seemed nothing had improved. She just hoped Bradley would soon regain Solterra and provide her with a peaceful future.
"It’s okay, I can sleep on the plane!" Freya waved her hand and took out a brush and drawing to continue fixing her work. Although the piece was almost finished, she felt it was missing something. However, her inspiration had been rejuvenated during the trip to Leiton Island, and her thoughts seemed clearer.
As the night wore on, Ella brewed a cup of coffee and quietly slipped out, knowing Freya didn’t like to be disturbed while working.
Dawn arrived, and Freya stretched lazily before checking her phone. Since last night, her phone had been vibrating non-stop with messages. She opened one to find that Bradley had sent a message saying he wouldn’t be coming back overnight, along with several video invites. The rest were from her master, inquiring about her progress with Felix and planning a visit to Leiton Island in a few days.
Freya first replied to Queen Sally’s message, assuring her everything was fine and asking her not to disturb them. To make her believe she was truly dating Felix, she sent photos from the tropical forest taken the previous day.
Queen Sally soon replied. "Alright, you and Felix can enjoy your time together. I won’t disturb you anymore!" Freya breathed a sigh of relief before calling Bradley. "I was busy last night and had my phone on silent mode, so I didn’t see your message. What’s up?"
"It’s nothing. I just missed you and wanted to hear your voice," came Bradley’s deep, warm voice.
Freya smiled lightly. "We’ll see each other soon!"
"Mm, I’ll come pick you up now!" His husky voice was tinged with exhaustion but still incredibly sexy.
"Okay, I’ll be waiting for you!" Freyra said sweetly. After hanging up, curiosity led her to browse through the information about this year’s International Fashion Design Competition.
This event was a stage for fashion designers to showcase their talents. Designers presented their creativity to the world, with judges and audiences selecting the most outstanding works to crown the competition champion. Three years ago, Freya had entered the competition primarily for the generous prize money, as she was facing financial difficulties at the time. Winning the fifty million prize and the title of top designer had propelled her career to new heights. Reflecting back, this competition had been pivotal in Julia’s success.
This year’s rewards were even more generous, with a prize of three hundred million and the opportunity to become the private designer for the organizer. This meant gaining status, wealth, and fame.
Freya wasn’t interested in the prize money or the title of private designer. What intrigued her was the identity of the mysterious organizer. The information provided only vaguely introduced the competition rules and rewards. The event would be held in the capital city, which was surprising since previous events had been in Paris. The change of location made Freya hesitate – should she take this chance to return and see Madeline?
Meanwhile –
Bradley was about to leave when his assistant entered with a stack of documents.
"Mr. Austin, here is the list of participants in the fashion design competition, along with the initial drafts from the designers. Please review them."
Bradley glanced at the registration form and immediately noticed the name Julia. His lips curved into a slight smile. "Reply to all the designers and inform them that they must personally attend this competition, or their participation will be canceled."
"Also, screen these initial drafts first and send me the outstanding works," he added, taking only Freya’s work and leaving the rest to the assistant.
With over a thousand participants, he didn’t have the time or energy to review all the entries. This competition was specifically organized for Freya, but he knew she would never attend in person, just as she had handed over the entire process to Ella three years ago. This temporary rule was meant to force her to appear, as he wanted to present an award to her himself, in front of the whole world, giving her an unforgettable surprise.
The assistant received the order and left. Bradley glanced at Freya’s work, which confirmed her status as the top international designer. Each piece was a masterpiece. Without his interference, Freya would likely be the ultimate winner.
As Bradley prepared to leave, the assistant returned. "By the way, Mr. Austin, I forgot to mention that our promotional activities have hired international supermodel Leah. Here is her information for your review."
The assistant handed over a document. Bradley didn’t take it, calmly saying, "Organize it into an email and send it to me."
With that, he briskly left the office.
Half an hour later, Bradley arrived at the villa. Freya had already sorted everything out and was ready to return to Leiton Island at any time. At that moment, she was deeply asleep on the wicker chair on the balcony, exhausted from a night of intense editing. She slept so soundly that she didn’t notice when Bradley returned.
