Leah was utterly shocked! She never expected Aunt Yolanda's old friend to be Charlotte! For a moment, Leah felt an overwhelming sense of dread. She had witnessed Charlotte's tragic death with her own eyes, and even now, the memory of it could wake her up in a cold sweat.
Seeing Leah staring at her phone screen with a pale face and beads of sweat forming on her forehead, Aunt Yolanda asked with concern, "Jasmine, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"It's nothing, Aunt Yolanda. I just remembered something I need to take care of. I have to leave now, but I'll come back to visit you another day."
Leah clenched her fists, feeling cold sweat in her palms. Seeing her distress, Aunt Yolanda quickly said, "Alright then, take care of your matters!"
"Okay, goodbye, Aunt Yolanda!" Leah hurriedly left the manor.
Once back at her residence, she wiped her face, drenched in sweat as if she had been doused with water. She shouted hoarsely, "Someone, someone!"
A bodyguard quickly arrived upon hearing her call. "Miss Leah, what can I do for you?"
"Investigate Yolanda Sheffield for me – her background, her social circle, everything!"
"Understood!"
The bodyguard promptly left to complete the task, returning twenty minutes later with the requested information. "Miss, here is what you asked for."
"Leave. Get out!" Leah ordered coldly.
After the bodyguard left, Leah picked up the documents and began to read them carefully. Soon, she reached the section on social circles. It clearly stated that Mrs. Sheffield and Charlotte were college classmates who had returned to the capital together after graduation. However, Mrs. Sheffield later married Shawn Sheffield and moved to Zarovia. Despite this, they maintained a good relationship and kept in touch after marriage.
Leah's expression darkened as she read. If Mrs. Sheffield and Charlotte knew each other, they might also be aware of the dirty secrets of the Lawson family. If Mrs. Sheffield discovered that Leah was Sophie's daughter, she would surely despise her and prevent her from marrying Agni.
Leah was at a loss, her grand dreams of marrying into a prestigious family shattered by her connection to the Lawson family. But no, she had worked too hard to climb the Sheffield family tree. She wouldn't let it all be ruined now!
Determined not to reveal her true identity, Leah clenched her fists. Currently, she went by the name Jasmine, but her background had been carefully falsified. She was not a member of the Lawson family but rather a talented and elegant lady from a prestigious musical family. Through her own efforts, she had risen to the position of an international supermodel, winning numerous awards over the years and becoming the dream goddess of many young men. She excelled in singing, dancing, and various arts – these were her true achievements. As for being a young lady of the Lawson family, she couldn't care less!
Tearing up the documents, Leah calmed her restless heart and walked outside. At fifteen, she had left the capital. Now, with Bruce and Lola dead and her mother Sophie in prison, only Freya remained. But she didn't care; Freya had been sent to the countryside and reportedly had become a fool. How could a fool possibly recognize her? Even if Freya had regained her senses, it had been so many years since they last saw each other. There was no guarantee she would remember her.
Leah had always dreamed of marrying into a noble family. Even if she couldn't marry into the Sheffield family, she was determined to find a new target. The organizer of the upcoming clothing competition would be her next goal. She would wear the outfit designed by top designer Julia and amaze everyone!

This Friday, there was an event at Matthew’s kindergarten. Freya had promised last time that she and Bradley would accompany Perfect together. But because Bradley had a last-minute commitment, Freya went with Matthew first, and Bradley would join them later.
In the car, Matthew was bursting with excitement. "No one will dare say anything to me today. I have my mom and dad with me, full of parental love for this little cutie!"
"No one is as beautiful as my mommy or as handsome as my daddy. Oh yeah!"
Freya smiled at his happiness, reached out, and touched his head. "With Mom and Dad here, no one will dare say anything. Our family is full of excellence! Mom and Dad will fight for your honor today."
"Mommy, there's a parent-child activity today, and I want to win first place!" Matthew said confidently.
"Yes, first place!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, a car suddenly sped towards them. Freya frowned, quickly turning the steering wheel and stepping on the gas to avoid a collision!
The other driver, probably equally frightened, turned the steering wheel too sharply and crashed directly into the barrier on the opposite side. With a bang, the front of the car shattered!
Freya parked on the side of the road, intending to check on the other driver. But before she could, the person got out of the car first and angrily yelled at her, "What's wrong with you? Are you a new driver? Can you even drive?"
Freya's face darkened as she looked at the woman, a flash of recognition passing through her mind. The woman seemed familiar, as if they had some connection.
Leah, seeing that the other woman wasn't responding, assumed she was timid and arrogantly said, "I see you're not injured. How about this – you cover the repair costs for my car, and we'll call it even!" She flipped her long wavy hair and glanced disdainfully at Freya.
But that one glance made her freeze in shock. The face in front of her was eerily similar to Freya's!
Freya was supposed to be in the capital of Magniflora – how could she possibly be here? And wasn't she a fool who had always lived in the countryside? And this child – could it be hers?
Leah shook her head, feeling like she was overthinking. Seeing the other woman scrutinizing her, Freya narrowed her eyes and coldly said, "Miss, you changed lanes over solid lines. The fault lies with you, not me. If you want me to compensate for your car repair costs, then I'll make you pay for the emotional damages to my child as well!"
Although she had avoided a collision in time, the ordeal had still frightened her. She hadn't even held the other woman accountable yet, and the woman was already demanding compensation. How ridiculous!
Leah took a deep breath at Freya's words. Freya was supposed to be a fool, so how could she be so eloquent? It seemed Leah had really mistaken her for someone else!
Raising her eyebrows, Leah examined Freya. Her face was truly exquisite, with fair skin, beautiful features, thick eyebrows, and large eyes – exuding a charm that most women did not possess. And her car, an international limited edition Maserati supercar, was worth more than fifty million. She must be quite wealthy.
After a moment of thought, considering she had just arrived in Solterra and had no one to rely on, Leah decided it would be better to avoid unnecessary trouble. "Responsibility lies with both parties, and you aren't injured. My car is undrivable, and if we involve the police, I doubt you would benefit. How about we each take a step back, report to the insurance, and split the repair costs evenly between us?"
Ha... Did she think Freya was someone who could be easily taken advantage of? Did she have "I am a fool" written on her face?
Freya gave a cold smile. "Miss, the responsibility lies with you. If you want me to compensate, I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to!"
