The next morning.
When Freya woke up, Bradley was no longer by her side.
She got up from the bed and heard the sound coming from the balcony, clearly Bradley talking on the phone.
She slowly got off the bed, put on her cotton slippers, and walked over. She hugged him from behind, pressing her face tightly against his back.
The unique scent of this man filled her nose freely, giving her a sense of peace she had never felt before.
Bradley was discussing matters with Patrick. This sudden intimacy surprised him, and he turned around abruptly. His big, idle hand wrapped around her slender waist, bringing her closer to himself.
"Continue the investigation, find Soul Restorative at all costs!"
With that, the man ended the call.
Putting his phone back in his pocket, he immediately took off his suit jacket and draped it over her, holding her tightly in his arms.
"The morning breeze is cool, your body is just right, can't stand the cold!"
The freshly removed suit still Reitains the warmth of a man's body temperature, Freya feels her whole heart warm.
The most beautiful feeling in the world is the love given by parents. She never received warmth from her parents since childhood, but truly experienced it from Bradley.
She embraces him contentedly, her voice still hoarse from waking up, "Can't find Soul Restorative?"
"Yes, Soul Restorative was recuperating in a small town in Zylandia before, but recently, he suddenly disappeared. Even though I had Patrick send out many people to look for him, there's still not a single trace."
"Soul Restorative is always elusive. If he doesn't show up on his own, finding him is harder than climbing to the sky. I guess Soul Restorative should have found out about the shooting incident, so he intentionally hid himself, or perhaps, the sniper took him away to conceal their identity. After all, the current Soul Restorative is no longer as powerful as before, with absolutely no ability to fight back."
These are the two possible outcomes Freya can currently think of.
At the fashion show, the person who shot at her was not Soul Restorative, but he used Soul Restorative's bullets.
There are only two possibilities: the other person is either familiar with Soul Restorative, or Soul Restorative is under threat.
After all, someone like Soul Restorative considers each bullet as a treasure and would never sell them casually.
"If the soul consciousness is threatened, then we should find him as soon as possible. Once the soul consciousness is in trouble, it will be difficult to track down the sniper." Bradley also had this worry, after all, it was a matter of life and death for Freya, which could not be ignored. Moreover, the killer was in the dark, while they were in the light, they could not predict when they would be in danger again. Now, all he could do was to send someone to protect Freya and delay the opponent's move, while also trying to find the soul consciousness as soon as possible. "If we really can't find the soul consciousness, maybe... we can take a risk." Freya looked deeply at the man, the meaning in her eyes was clear. However, without hesitation, the man directly stopped her with a stern voice, "Do you want to take risks as bait? No, I disagree." If he did so, it would only show his incompetence. After all, Freya was not alone now, if she had any accident, it would be a terrible outcome he couldn't afford. Seeing his nervous state, Freya smiled helplessly, "I just mentioned it casually, I'm not really going to risk my life. Why are you so nervous?"
-"Just mentioning it casually is not okay." The man said in a deep voice, then forcefully kissed her. This kiss, carrying a punishment of destroying everything, lasted only two minutes, and Freya felt lack of oxygen in her head and weakness all over her body. "If you dare to have such thoughts again, I will not spare you!" The man viciously bit her, anyone could face danger, except Freya. "Alright, I won't dare again in the future!" Freya gasped for breath, breathing heavily, feeling much better in her lungs. The two sat on the balcony, waiting for the sun to rise slowly. When the man carried her horizontally, he said in a deep voice, "I'll take you downstairs for breakfast, our daughter needs nutrition." Hearing this, Freya punched him, "The outcome is still uncertain, how come you already know it's a daughter?" "I have a psychic connection with the child!"
The man raised his eyebrows slightly and smiled. For some reason, after Freya's pregnancy, his first reaction was about having a daughter. As her condition worsened, this idea became stronger.
As they went downstairs, Mr. and Mrs. Brian were already seated at the dining table, along with Jinny who they hadn't seen in a long time. Upon seeing them approach, Jinny clenched her fists under the table silently. Freya glanced at her, noticing that she looked much more haggard than before. Previously, she had been pampered like a princess and had a slightly plump figure, but now she was as thin as a dried pickled vegetable. It seemed that the decline of the Brian family had made her life difficult as well.
Seeing Jinny looking at her, Freya tightened her fists even more, but forced herself to put on a smile and greeted her, "Auntie Three."
"Um."
Freya nodded and sat down next to Bradley.
The two sat there with their fingers intertwined, displaying a glaringly affectionate appearance. A hint of malicious light flashed in Jinny's eyes.
Others may not have noticed anything unusual, but Freya's keen eyes caught it - the hostility in that gaze ran deep!
It seemed that peace was once again out of reach for breakfast this morning.
In her heart, Freya sighed lightly.
At that moment, a servant approached with a bowl of bird's nest and placed it directly in front of Freya. "Third Madam, here is your bird's nest."
Freya was taken aback and turned to look at Bradley. "Did you arrange this?"
Before the man could respond, Bradley , who was standing nearby, smiled and said, "Freya, it was my arrangement. Seeing how exhausted you have been busy with the old master's illness. Bird's nest is good for women, not only for beauty and anti-aging, but also beneficial for children."
Freya smiled, "Thank you, Second Sister-in-law then."
Freya had a good impression of Bradley , after all, she was Bradley's mother. She believed that a mother who could raise such an outstanding son must be equally remarkable.
But this bird's nest...
Freya shook her eyes and looked up at Jinny unintentionally, only to find her gaze fixed on the bird's nest. She smiled lightly, "Jinny, your complexion doesn't look very good. Are you feeling unwell?"
"No, no, thank you for your concern, Auntie San."
Jinny avoided eye contact, feeling extremely nervous. Earlier, while the servant was away, she had tampered with the bird's nest. She had been keeping a close watch on the bird's nest, afraid that Freya would discover something. After all, this woman was too mysterious, as if nothing could escape her eyes.
Just as she was thinking, Freya's light voice sounded in her ears, "Jinny, you have dark circles under your eyes, your complexion isn't great either, and you have clearly lost weight recently. It seems like your qi and blood are insufficient. This bird's nest, let Jinny drink it instead, would be more appropriate."
