Chapter 1003 Buying Happiness

Because the market was too crowded, Bradley had Lance park the car on the opposite street and walked with Freya holding her hand.

The weather in the southern country is relatively humid, but compared to the capital city, the climate is warmer.

Although Freya can't be said to like this city, she doesn't reject it either.

But this is Bradley's hometown, and she will slowly adapt and come to like it.

The two dressed casually, walking on the road looking very eye-catching.

Every passerby couldn't help but take a few more glances, after all, the combination of handsome man and beautiful woman is too attractive, and both of them have extraordinary temperament. Even when blending in with the crowd, they are the most conspicuous existence.

"So many people are looking at you." Freya glanced around from the corner of her eye, the women's eyes were like hooks, all stuck on Bradley.

This made Freya feel like a beloved object being coveted by others.

"You also have a lot of admirers." Bradley teased, reaching out to brush Freya's straight nose.

The ambiguous actions seen by passers-by unknowingly fed both men and women with dog food.

Freya scolded, "Stop it, Everything is watching."

"We have a loving relationship, who cares?" The man smirked, a look that said 'my wife, my decision'.

"Mu San Sui, you're acting childish again!" Freya clenched her fist and lightly hit the man's chest, then ran ahead.

The two frolicked on the street and soon arrived at the outskirts of the market.

With so many people around, fearing they might get separated, Bradley always held Freya's hand, keeping her within his controllable range.

Seeing Everyone as novel, especially some trinkets, Freya's eyes lit up.

Bradley quietly accompanied her, watching her face always filled with a smile, and his lips curved up involuntarily.

Since being together with Freya, the two have experienced many ups and downs, faced countless life-and-death separations, but thankfully they have endured it all.

Seeing Freya's smile is truly precious, Bradley wishes time could freeze at this moment, so he could see her bright and innocent smile every day.

"Honey, what are you looking at? Help me choose which pair is better?" At this moment, Freya was facing a pair of handmade dolls, feeling indecisive.

The craftsmanship of the master was excellent, all the dolls were meticulously carved on the spot.

Freya held a pair of dolls dressed in suit and wedding gown, as well as a pair in couple outfits.

She liked both pairs very much, but couldn't make up her mind, so she had to ask for Bradley's opinion.

The man glanced over and said, "Buy them all." After that, he asked Lance to pay.

Lance had prepared some cash specifically for the market, in small bills, just for occasions like today.

Freya held the dolls and smiled so much that her eyes resembled crescent moons, "This ying is for you, and this one is also for you."

Bradley accepted all the dolls because the ones Freya gave were all female, symbolizing her own thoughts.

Seeing the loving couple, the sculptor laughed and said loudly, "Couples who buy dolls from me, nine out of ten pairs can enter the realm of marriage and live happily ever after."

Freya found the sculptor's words exaggerated and laughed, "Then what about ying more pair?"

"There is also a pair that is truly wonderful, passed down through generations in the family, but after buying this doll from me, they immediately had triplets." The master spoke as he continued working.

Listening to this, Freya couldn't help but feel incredulous.

"So you're saying your stall has become a matchmaker for the God of Marriage." The master paused his work, looked up at Bradley and Freya, stroked his beard, and said, "Miss, please look at my sign."

Only then did Freya notice the doll stall, with a sign standing next to it.

It had a line of text written on it: 'Sold only to those destined, wishing all couples in love to be together forever.'

Feeling puzzled, Freya asked, "Excuse me, sir, what do you mean by 'couples in love'? And how do you determine if a customer is someone you believe is destined?"

The master placed the newly carved doll on the shelf and spoke softly, "I have been in business for many years. Besides sculpting these dolls, I also understand people. Those who are fond of these little toys like you, young lady, are usually..."

Guests who come to my stall always come in pairs. The gaze between lovers is undeniable, just like the look in the young man's eyes next to the girl, filled with love. Isn't it obvious that he likes the girl? And the girl gave the female doll to her partner, the meaning couldn't be clearer, wanting to be together forever.

You two obviously have a deep bond, that's what they call true love. As for me, I've come across a few couples where the girl was drawn to my stall, but the boy accompanone her seemed immature and impatient. Such relationships are clearly not long-lasting, and of course, I wouldn't sell the dolls to them.

I don't make money from this business, I sell emotions and bring happiness to others. The master spoke confidently, but his eyes revealed emotions that others couldn't understand. This made Freya realize that this master had a story.

Seeing the master's craftsmanship, Freya couldn't help but ask, "Can I ask why you learned this skill, Master?"

In Freya's eyes, Everything who dedicates themselves to art must have a bittersweet love story behind it. She believed this sculptor master was no exception.

Strangers usually wouldn't ask such private questions, but the sculptor master, looking at Freya, surprisingly replied, "My wife, like the girl, also adores these little dolls."

"Is your wife also a craftsperson?" Freya was extremely curious about the sculptor master's experience, and quietly listened to the rest of his story.

"No," the master shook his head and after a long silence, he said, "My wife loves them, so I learned sculpture for her, hoping that all girls with a yearning for love can also find happiness."

"Thank you and your wife, I have indeed gained happiness," Freya shook the doll in her hand, smiling brightly.

"Miss, you are the first guest today. I will give you something extra." After speaking, the carver gave the doll he had just carved to Freya.

Surprisingly, it was four dolls, a family of four.

"Thank you, Master, I wish you prosperity in your business." Freya really liked this set of dolls, carved vividly, even as a decoration, she found it pleasing to the eye.

When leaving the doll stall, Freya went to a shadow puppet stall. The boss, seeing the dolls in her hands, smiled happily, "These are carved by Old Wang from the next stall, right?"

"Old Wang from next door" should refer to the boss of the doll stall.

Before Freya could speak, the boss started to talk, "Little Wang is a bit different in our market. You see, people set up stalls here to make money, but he is picky about his customers when selling things. Isn't he just making it difficult for himself and money?"
