Chapter 1102 The Mystery of Manman's Background

Yuanman was playing with his younger sister. When he heard Freya's voice, he turned his head and then pounced on her like an excited butterfly.

"Mummy."

Freya smiled and opened her arms, letting the little guy hug her tightly. "Mummy thought where this handsome little boy came from. It turns out to be our Manman."

After not seeing him for a few days, Manman was growing up day by day. The once soft, cute and chubby little boy had now grown a lot taller and seemed more mature than before.

His originally soft hair used to fall down obediently, but now he had his hair combed back and was wearing a little gentleman's suit, looking just like a proper little noble young master.

But with just one glance, Freya vaguely felt a sense of familiarity.

Before, he hadn't fully grown up, and since Manman was an orphan, no one would have thought about who his parents were.

But now, with an accidental glance, Freya actually saw a bit of Gabriel's shadow in him.

Was she seeing things?

Manman actually looked extremely like Gabriel.

But Gabriel wasn't married, and there hadn't been any women around him. How could he possibly have a child?

Was she just overthinking it?

Freya furrowed her brows and looked at Manman more intently. The little guy blushed a bit shyly under her gaze and said with a laugh, "Mummy, is there something on my face?"

Freya was stunned. Realizing that her gaze was too intense, she awkwardly retracted it.

"No, Manman has grown taller and more handsome."

Madeline was holding Xin Yao and then handed her to Freya. Only then did she say, "Manman really knows how to amuse Xin Yao. He made her giggle. He's nothing like those two brats Patrick had. They've been causing me trouble all day long."

Freya held Xin Yao in her arms. She had missed her so much since she hadn't seen her for a long time.

Holding her now, she was as careful as if she were holding a precious treasure.

Xin Yao already had some baby teeth emerging. When she smiled, a pair of dimples were faintly visible. She was as charming as a doll. Freya stroked the child's face, and her eyes were filled with maternal love.

"Since you're back, I have to go and see those two brats. I just spanked their butts twice, and they're crying their eyes out now." Madeline was a bit frustrated. They were so cute when they were little, but now that they were older, why were they so annoying?

They couldn't stay quiet for a moment, causing trouble everywhere. The key was that she couldn't beat or scold them. As soon as they weren't satisfied, they would cry non-stop.

Daughters are so much better. A well-behaved, beautiful and obedient doll like Xin Yao. If she were her daughter, she would definitely hold her in her arms and never let go every day.

Freya nodded at her and said, "Madeline, treat your sons with the same patience you have for Xin Yao. It should be love-based education."

"Pfft, what love-based education? It depends on the person. You haven't seen those two brats. If you don't beat them for a day, they'll tear the roof down. They'll definitely make your blood pressure soar to 250!"

After saying that, Madeline stroked Xin Yao's soft and white little face again. "If I had such a daughter, I would never scold or beat her. I'd give her love-based education every day."

Freya smiled even more helplessly. Madeline had already regarded Xin Yao as her future daughter-in-law. Treating her so lovingly, she was probably preparing for the future.

"If you want a daughter, let Patrick work harder. Maybe the second child will be a pair of twin sisters." Freya joked.

Madeline had a constitution that was prone to having multiple births, which Freya had discovered a long time ago.

The corner of Madeline's mouth twitched. "You know I have a constitution like a sow and am likely to have multiple births. If the second child isn't a girl and another pair of 'Calabash Brothers' comes out, I'll be tortured to death. So forget it. Instead of suffering for a lifetime, I'd rather pin my hopes on my future daughter-in-law."

After saying that, her tone was extremely gentle. She kissed Xin Yao's little cheek. "Godmother has taken a fancy to you. You must be my daughter-in-law in the future."

Xin Yao was originally a girl who loved to laugh. Teased like this, she giggled even more.

"Alright, I'm leaving now. The baby should be fed in half an hour, and the diaper should be changed every three hours. Remember that, or the baby will easily get red buttocks."

Before leaving, Madeline reminded.

Freya smiled. "Got it, Godmother Madeline."

Madeline gave her a disdainful look. "Although you know medicine, you must have less experience in taking care of children than me. Even though Xin Yao is well-behaved and obedient, every child has a temper. So take her out for a walk later, and she'll be happier."

When she reached the door, Madeline turned back and reminded again.

Freya was indeed not as competent as Madeline. Since giving birth to the child, she had spent very little time with her. She hadn't even breastfed the child once or changed a diaper.

Sometimes when she thought about it, she really felt she owed Xin Yao a lot.

After Madeline left, the whole nursery became quiet.

Freya held Xin Yao and said to Manman, "Come on, let's take sister out for some fresh air."

Manman nodded and followed behind Freya.

The two of them went downstairs and walked to the back garden. As they strolled along the tree-lined path, Freya turned her head and looked at Manman again.

This time, she was even more astonished. The similarity of his profile was even more striking.

What was going on?

Was it just her illusion?

Freya couldn't figure it out. Why did she always feel that Manman was so similar to Gabriel?

If it were just a coincidence, it couldn't be this incredibly similar, could it?

It seemed that after Bradley came back, she had to ask about Gabriel's past. Maybe she could even uncover a poignant love story.

"Are you happy in kindergarten, Manman?"

Freya stopped thinking about it and shifted the topic to Manman's life in kindergarten.

Manman smiled handsomely. "Yes, I'm happy. There are many classmates in kindergarten. We study and play together, and we're all good friends."

Looking at Manman's excited expression when he talked about kindergarten, Freya was extremely glad that she had made this decision. A child's innocence comes from life, and besides, a child like Manman, who had been weak and sickly since childhood, naturally longed for the outside world even more.

"Then during this time, has Manman felt any discomfort anywhere?" Freya asked again.

Manman's health had basically been recuperated, but after all, he was still different from a normal person. Freya thought it was necessary to ask about his condition.

Manman patted his chest like a little adult and said, "I'm not uncomfortable. I can run really fast now."

Even without taking Manman's pulse, just by looking at his complexion, Freya could tell his physical condition.

He was indeed much stronger than before. And with some gradual physical training, his body's immunity could also be improved.

"Mummy, thank you!" Suddenly, Manman stopped in his tracks, turned around and smiled at Freya.

Freya asked, "What are you thanking me for?"

Manman motioned for Freya to bend down a little. Although Freya didn't know what he was going to do, she bent down as he asked. Unexpectedly, Manman leaned in and gently kissed her on the face.

"Thank you, Mummy, for sending me to school and for curing my illness."
