Chapter 1236 Breaking In

Bradley asked, "When is the shift change?"

"I just lurked in the dark and observed for a few hours. These guards change shifts approximately every two and a half hours. They had just changed shifts when I came back. Calculating the time, the next shift change will be at six o'clock in the afternoon."

Upon hearing this, Freya squinted her eyes and carefully calculated the pattern.

That is to say, after six o'clock it will be half past eight, then eleven o'clock, and then half past one in the morning?

"Why do they change shifts so frequently?" Freya was a bit confused.

Blue Book replied, "I just inquired. It's said that this is to prevent the guards from making mistakes due to fatigue. On the other hand, they confirm the identities again during the shift handover to prevent unknown people from sneaking in."

Freya nodded. So it was due to their high level of vigilance.

However, doing this made it easy for someone to take advantage of the situation.

Fortunately, they could take the opportunity of the shift handover to see if they could sneak in.

"Bradley, let's take action at half past one in the morning tonight."

At this time, people were at their most tired. If they couldn't succeed, they would have to think of another way.

"Okay."

After finalizing the plan, the two of them stayed in the room after dinner in the evening until the early morning.

The two of them lay on the bed, and neither of them closed their eyes.

They were both wearing the lightest clothes.

Until the clock pointed to twenty past one, Freya got up from the bed and said to the man, "Husband, it's time to take action."

For safety reasons, Freya carried a needle pack with her, as well as some smoke bombs that might come in handy, and a universal needle for picking locks.

When they arrived at the location Blue Book mentioned, the two of them lurked in the dark and observed.

Sure enough, the guards were extremely strict. With the patrolling guards coming and going, there were more than a dozen of them in total.

If they didn't divert the guards, it would be impossible to sneak into the DNA room.

"Later, we'll do as we discussed. I'll divert them, and you find a way to sneak in." Freya said, and handed him the universal needle. "Take these needles. They can help you pick the lock."

Bradley took the universal needle and looked at Freya with raised eyebrows. "Where did you learn this lock-picking skill?"

Freya bared her teeth. "I met a locksmith a few years ago. He taught me the techniques. I studied them and designed this universal needle myself. It can basically open all kinds of locks, but it won't work for combination locks or fingerprint locks."

This needle was just a precaution. After all, they didn't know what kind of locks were on the sample cabinets.

Bradley put the needle away and then said, "Okay. Be careful yourself."

After saying that, the man quietly sneaked to the entrance, waiting for Freya to divert the guards so that he could find a way to break in.

The time had come. Freya flicked her finger and shot out a silver needle, which accurately hit the calf of a guard.

"Who's there!"

The guard knelt down in pain.

Taking this opportunity, Freya flashed past. The guard only saw a dark figure and then said to the others, "There's a thief. Chase!"

These guards had received strict training. Only two of them chased after her, and the others continued to guard the surroundings.

So, Bradley still didn't have a chance to sneak in.

Just as he was about to break in by force, Blue Book's voice came from behind him. "Your Majesty, I'll deal with these people."

After saying that, he threw a stone.

Still, not all the guards chased after it. Two of them remained.

However, it was easy for Bradley to deal with these two guards.

He quietly approached them, easily knocked them down, and dragged them behind the nearby tree.

After doing all this, he groped his way to the door and found that he needed to swipe a access card to enter.

Bradley took out a mini tablet from his body, and his slender fingers moved quickly. Fortunately, he had made preparations in advance and used hacking techniques to crack the access control.

Thirty seconds later, the sound of the door opening came.

Bradley looked around. The guards who had been diverted hadn't come back yet, and this was his chance.

He sneaked in, avoided the surveillance cameras, and searched for the sample room with the staff.

At the same time, Freya deliberately led the guards in circles to buy as much time as possible for Bradley.

After confusing those guards, she rushed over to meet Bradley, and Blue Book continued to entangle with them.

Bradley had just found the sample room. He was about to step in when someone shouted at him, "Stop! What are you doing?"

The man stopped in his tracks, lowered his face covered by a mask, and said coldly, "Dr. Li said that there were some problems with the samples sent a few days ago and asked me to take them all away."

Dr. Li was the chief person in charge of the medical room in the Yelü royal palace.

The DNA blood samples of these royal descendants were all personally taken care of by Dr. Li and then sent to the DNA room for storage.

Bradley had specifically asked Blue Book to investigate this. Coincidentally, a batch of new blood samples had been updated a few days ago, which just gave him an excuse to cover up.

When the other person heard that he was sent by Dr. Li, his expression immediately changed, and he said, "Then come in with me."

Bradley's eyes darkened. He didn't expect it to be so easy to deceive the man.

Following the staff into the sample room, Bradley looked around. Sure enough, everyone's blood samples were placed separately in the refrigerated cabinets, and they were all combination locks.

It seemed that Freya's universal needle wouldn't be of any use.

The staff stood in front of the cabinet and asked, "Do you want to take all of them away?"

Bradley took out a list from his body and handed it to the other person. "Just these people's samples. I'll come back and deliver the newly extracted samples myself tomorrow."

The other person took the list and looked at it. When he saw that it also included the king's blood sample, he immediately became a bit more vigilant.

He asked, "Please show me your work ID."

The king's sample was extremely important, and there could be no mistakes.

Bradley didn't expect the other person to be so vigilant as to ask for his work ID.

He stood there thinking about how to deceive the man, and the other person immediately attacked him. "Who are you exactly, and how did you sneak in here?"

Realizing that his identity had been exposed, Bradley also took action and prepared to seize the samples by force.

The other person was also a skilled fighter with extraordinary skills. Moreover, an alarm had been installed in this DNA storage room. As the staff activated it, the alarm bells rang out.

Suddenly, a group of guards rushed in and surrounded Bradley.

Freya also heard the sound outside. Knowing that Bradley might have been exposed, she immediately rushed in behind the guards.

When she arrived, Bradley was already fighting with more than a dozen guards.

"Retreat!"

She gritted her teeth and took out a smoke bomb in her hand and threw it out. In an instant, the whole environment was filled with thick smoke.

Taking this opportunity, Bradley broke through the encirclement and left the DNA database with Freya.

However, the guards who had been diverted had also come back. As soon as the two of them stepped out, they were surrounded again.
