Chapter 1336 Just a Reminder

Freya took the initiative to untie the sash of his bathrobe. As the fabric fell aside, she clearly saw that his back was densely covered with glass fragments.

Some of them were embedded deeply and still bleeding. Upon smelling the blood, Freya began to feel nauseous and uncomfortable again.

Recently, she had become increasingly intolerant of even the slightest unpleasant smell.

Fortunately, Bradley had a fresh and refreshing scent, and the minty aroma helped her barely control this discomfort.

She took out a mini first aid kit from the bedside table, retrieved a pair of tweezers and some gauze, and started to remove the glass shards from Bradley's back.

During this process, Bradley brought up what had happened earlier.

"The person has already escaped. Even when Blue Book led people to chase after him, they couldn't catch him. I suspect that this person must be lurking in the palace with multiple identities. Moreover, since he is very familiar with everything here, it won't be easy for us to find him in the future. So, Freya, I plan to have Blue Book send people to disguise themselves as guards and maids and lurk in the palace. Maybe we'll find something."

Freya nodded. "I was just thinking the same thing. You can arrange for the guards, and I'll ask White Fox to take care of the maids."

The sudden attack earlier had caught her off guard.

Freya had been sitting on the bed, constantly thinking about how the other party had managed to come and go in the palace freely without being detected.

After much thought, she guessed that the other party might be moving around the palace with multiple identities to divert everyone's attention.

So, even if Bradley hadn't made such an arrangement, Freya would have asked White Fox to handle this matter.

"The sneak attack tonight was probably just a reminder. They're about to start their actions, and from now on, we'll be in a very dangerous situation," Bradley said in a hoarse voice, enduring the pain in his back. "Your body isn't in a stable condition right now. I plan to send you back to the headquarters' infirmary for treatment first. I'll handle things here."

Previously, it was because of Freya's persistence that he had agreed for them to face the danger together. But now, Freya's condition was getting worse. He was worried that if she remained in such a highly tense state, it would have an even greater impact on her illness.

Furthermore, with her staying here, his attention was always on her, and he couldn't calmly deal with these matters.

Bradley guessed that the mastermind behind the scenes had taken advantage of this and dared to act so brazenly.

However, Freya directly refused. "I'm fine. This minor illness won't affect my actions. So, I won't go back. I want to stay and catch that mastermind behind the scenes myself."

She couldn't bear to let Bradley fight alone.

Even though her body wasn't as strong as before, she could still offer some help.

"But..."

"There's no 'but'. Don't forget, I endured even more hardships during the time I was carrying Xin Yao. I got through it then, and I can do it now," Freya said as she finished removing all the glass shards. Despite the obvious pain, the man didn't let out a single groan throughout the process and endured it with great willpower.

Looking at the numerous bleeding wounds, Freya's eyes became a bit sore. She sniffled and said, "Trust me. I can get through this with you."

She applied medicine to his wounds and wrapped them with gauze, then gently hugged his neck from behind.

However, being careful not to touch his wounds, their bodies didn't press closely together.

Bradley was torn inside. He knew Freya's stubbornness best. Once she decided to do something, she wouldn't easily back down.

Finally, he softened his tone and said, "Let's see how your body is. If you have frequent relapses, you must go back."

This was his bottom line. He didn't want Freya to suffer with him any longer.

Freya nodded. "Okay, I'll listen to you."

With this agreement reached, the man in black didn't show up for the rest of the night, and Freya had a good sleep.

Early in the morning, someone knocked on the door.

Freya was jolted awake from her sleep. She got up and went to open the door, only to see a maid standing there.

This scene was exactly the same as before, making Freya feel a bit more vigilant.

Just as she was about to take action and grab the other person, the maid suddenly looked up and winked at her.

"Wh..."

Freya was about to speak when she suddenly realized that the palace wasn't safe. She quickly stopped and said to the maid indifferently, "It's early in the morning. What's the matter?"

The maid said, "Mistress of Solterra, I'm here specifically to take care of you. If you need anything in the future, you can give me orders at any time."

Freya responded with an okay and then pointed to the floor in the room. "I just spilled some water. Come in and clean it up."

"Yes."

The maid curtsied and then stepped inside.

Freya peeked around and quickly closed the door. She said to the maid, "I asked you to be a maid in the palace, not to serve me. So, tell me, what are you up to this time?"

White Fox playfully sat on the sofa and giggled. "Boss, I'm just worried about your safety, so I came to take care of you myself."

Freya rubbed her forehead and said helplessly, "I need a maid who can move around the palace freely, not a personal attendant."

"Don't worry, boss. I've already arranged for someone to do that. As for me, your safety is my top priority."

According to what Blue Book said, Freya hadn't been in a good mental state recently and often had symptoms of dizziness. White Fox originally wanted to lurk in the palace to investigate the clues personally, but she was worried about her boss. After thinking it over, she decided to stay and take care of Freya.

"No way. If you're here to take care of me, you'll just cause trouble. Also, you'll be too obvious a target here, and it'll make people suspicious."

Freya waved her hand and rejected this proposal.

She was fine. She hadn't needed anyone to take care of her in the past, and she didn't need it now either.

"You have to agree whether you like it or not because Bradley has already agreed," White Fox said proudly.

Before coming to take care of Freya, she had first asked for Bradley's opinion.

Bradley considered that he couldn't be by Freya's side all the time, so he allowed White Fox to come and keep her company. On one hand, White Fox could chat with Freya so that she wouldn't be too bored, and on the other hand, when a crisis came, Freya wouldn't have to face it alone.

"It doesn't matter if he agreed. It's my approval that counts," Freya still thought this arrangement was inappropriate. If someone suddenly came to take care of her for no apparent reason, what would others think?

Either they would think there was something wrong with her body, or they would think she was acting high and mighty as the Mistress of Solterra.

Of course, she didn't care about those things. What she cared about was that their opponents hiding in the dark would think they had discovered something unusual and brought in help.

As a result, those people would act even more cautiously, and White Fox would naturally become a target for them.

No matter what White Fox said, Freya just wouldn't agree.

In the end, White Fox had no choice but to bring in Bradley to persuade Freya.
