Where the hell am I? And why the hell is everywhere dark?

I tried looking around to get a glimpse of my environment but nothing. Absolutely nothing.

"Hello, anybody here?" I finally managed to ask.

I turned when I heard a shuffling noise beside me. Curious as to who was beside me, I used my hands to locate a body or at least something for me to confirm that I wasn't alone.
