Another person should never be that important. Another person being that important is the most

natural thing on Earth.

It's so easy to see how it could end. How they or I could be disillusioned, and either of our affections

could fade and die. It's so easy to see how things could go bad, how a good thing could shrivel, die, and

poison both participants.
