A steady beeping pulled me out of the darkness that surrounded me. But where am I?

I opened my eyes and quickly closed it because of the excess light and again opened it after adjusting it according to the light. It took a few blinks, but eventually, I could look around the room. Wires and needles covered my skin, sending messages to the machine that woke me.
