Chapter 4

BRIELLE

My request was granted, but my position was taken away in an instant.

Argon quickly sent out a notice to every servant in the mansion to stop calling me his Luna.

He brought Estelle in front of them and declared her his true mate and future Luna. He announced their wedding plans and how he wanted everyone to give Estelle the respect she deserved.

How did I know all of this?

After Argon accepted my request, he returned with three guards to evict me from my room.

I was moved to a smaller room in the servant quarters to live from now on.

“If you're going to stay under my roof, then you'll work with the servants. You're no longer Luna,” he said coldly, showing me my new status.

And during the announcement, I was with the other servants while he introduced Estelle as his new Luna.

The servants looked at me with sympathy in their eyes. But none of them could do anything to change the situation.

I was no longer the Luna of the Alpha—just his ex-Luna.

As soon as the meeting ended, Estelle called me out from among the servants and ordered me to cook her a meal.

I didn’t object to the order and bowed, ready to go.

“What’s that? What did you say?” she asked, cupping her ear, waiting for the word to come from my lips.

With no other choice, I said what she wanted. “Yes, Luna Estelle,” I replied for her satisfaction, making her lips curl into a sweet smile.

“Good. Now get out of my sight,” she ordered, clinging to Argon.

“Yes, Luna Estelle,” I repeated, leaving without looking at Argon. I didn’t want to see his face because of everything I was feeling.

I began cooking something for Estelle, trying to do it quickly.

When the food was ready, I served the dish and brought it to Estelle, who was sitting in the living room with Argon, watching business news about Argon’s company.

Besides inheriting his father’s title, Argon also became the owner of his late father’s company, running it the way he pleased.

With his intelligence and skills, the company rose to the top among others. They were celebrating when I came in to serve the food.

“Wait,” she didn’t let me leave but instead ordered me to stand and wait until she was done eating.

I didn’t object but obeyed, only for Estelle to spit out the food in her mouth, crying out for water.

I was shocked to see her reaction, wondering what had happened.

Before I knew it, Estelle got up and slapped me across the face, stunning me. “Are you crazy?! Are you trying to kill me?!” she screamed.

Argon stood beside her, asking what happened. “What did she put in the food, my love?” he asked, getting angrier.

Estelle didn’t say anything about me making a mistake. She just grabbed the food and threw it at my body.

I panicked at the heat of the food touching my skin. It burned as I wiped it off in pain.

“Get back in there and make me something better, you animal! Now!” she yelled.

Still feeling the burn, I managed to gather what was left of the food from the ground and my body, then turned to leave.

As soon as I stepped out of the living room, my wolf hearing kicked in, letting me hear Argon and Estelle’s conversation:

“What was in the food?”

“Nothing, my love. I just did that to punish her for choosing to stay,” Estelle laughed.

They both laughed at me, not knowing I heard every word they said.

“She’ll have no choice but to leave after a few more attacks,” Estelle shared her plan with Argon.

Anger filled my heart. I gripped the plate tightly, trying to hide my pain.

And just as they planned, Argon and Estelle began making my life unbearable in this mansion.

They didn’t give me any space to breathe.

Argon began picking out faults in everything I did, and Estelle was always there to back him up.

Estelle’s gold necklace went missing, and I was immediately blamed for it.

Argon and Estelle were ready to throw me out—if not for a servant who came forward and revealed where she saw Estelle put it. “She didn’t take it, Alpha. Luna Estelle put it in her purse.”

“Silence! Who asked you?!” Estelle snapped, scolding the servant who ruined their plan.

“I’m sure my Luna didn’t put it there. Someone else must have done it,” Argon said, turning his accusations toward me.

I knew what they were doing, but I pretended not to.

After enduring so much torment from the two of them, I returned to my room and collapsed on the mat, tears streaming down my face.

My heart was full of deep sorrow, unable to withstand the bullying from Argon and Estelle any longer. I couldn’t take this pain anymore. Now, I burned with the desire for revenge.

“I did everything to make us happy, but you chose to torture me. You killed the only happiness I had. Not anymore. I won’t let the two of you play me like a fool. You’ll pay for what you’ve done.” I growled, trying to calm my blood and think about the journey ahead.

“And you will, Brielle,” said Bane.

The voice didn’t come from inside me—but from behind.

I turned with tear-stained eyes and saw my wolf standing beside the mat.

Her green eyes glowed as she said, “You will get what you want—only if you're ready to face this pain and let me take full control.”

I wiped my nose, sitting up straight.

Burning with all the suffering, I accepted.

“Think carefully, Brielle. You’ll have to let go of your kindness for this. You won’t go back to your old life once we begin this journey together. Are you sure you’re ready?”

“I’m ready. I don’t care anymore about being kind, loyal, obedient… What did that ever give me in return?” I sobbed, holding back the last of my tears.

“Yes, what did that ever give you in return? Maybe this time, it will finally do something.” She gave me a cunning smile.

Before I could ask what needed to be done, she immediately leaped and entered my body with full force.

I felt my whole body tremble as I tried to stay strong. I could feel her moving through every part of me, until… “We are fully united now,” Bane’s voice echoed inside me.

I lifted my gaze to the mirror on the left and saw my eyes glowing green.

Instead of feeling scared like before, I felt strong, full of power…

In short, I felt unstoppable.
