BRIELLE
"Move it!" The guards ordered, dragging me towards my room.
I was trying to comply with them, but someone was trying to prove stubborn, and it was becoming hard for me to hold her back.
"Brielle, stand down or else..."
"Bane, don't," I pleaded within, afraid of what she'd do if she takes over me.
The inside of me was burning up like I had consumed something hot. I could feel Bane perambulating restlessly, fighting to be free. She was just desperate to step out and lay her claws on around me. But I can't allow that.
Her rage will ruin it all, if I don't hold her back.
When the guards brought me to my room, they yanked the door open and tossed me inside.
"AH!" I exclaimed, falling hard to the ground with my knees scrapping the hard floor.
This sudden impact caused my body to shiver intensely. I felt my heart skip hard with my hands shaking.
When I stared at it, I saw long claws slowly forcing its way out through my fingers.
Bane! She's getting really mad!
"You're going to be locked up until the Alpha gives an order to free you," I heard from the guards, followed by the slam of the door from behind, and the sound of keys dangling from outside.
As soon as the footsteps of the guards distanced from my room, I gave out a loud cry, groaning out in pain.
Through the mirror in my front, I saw my eyes glowing green and my teeth growing large.
A roar escaped my mouth with a sudden darkness engulfing me.
I couldn't tell what happened to me next. All I noticed was that the excruciating pain I was feeling suddenly came at ease, and... "Where am I?"
I was submerged in total darkness. I couldn't tell my left to my right.
"You shouldn't have held me back, Brielle!" I heard Bane groaning.
When I lifted my eyes in the darkness, I was stunned by what I saw. Bane... She has taken over my body!
I could see her reflection through the mirror. A mighty wolf standing firm, looking all raged while moving around with those terrifying green eyes.
I was in her body, buried within her structure that looked like a shield or an armor. I could only see what was happening outside through her eyes, understanding how a wolf shares body with their host.
"So this is where she stays?" I uttered, lifting my eyes to have a look around. But all I could see was darkness.
Suddenly, I heard Bane grouch in anger. She's still mad over the fact that I didn't allow her to bounce out and attack Argon.
When I looked through her eyes, Bane was making her way to the door, furiously.
"Bane, what are you doing?!"
"Ending the story of that rat," She growled.
"What?! Bane, don't! " I objected, finding that idea bad.
That's a bad idea! What if they see her and attack?!
There are so many guards in this mansion. And Argon? He's a powerful wolf! An Alpha for that matter!
He'll be alert of Bane's presence and easily bring her down along with me.
I can't allow her to do this.
Before I could voice out and stop my wolf from doing anything stupid, Bane came to a stop by herself.
She just stood, staring at the door, puffing out deeply.
"Bane, are you okay?" I asked, wondering why she didn't go ahead with her plan.
That's when I heard her chuckling. It echoed in the darkness I was in, sending some kind of terrifying wave into me.
"You're right, Brielle. I won't attack. There are a lot of guards in this place, and we don't want that Alpha stopping us, " She said, leaving me surprised.
She heard me?
Who am I kidding? Of course she'll hear me. She's my wolf. We're unified after all.
Bane retraced her steps back to the mat in the room. The moment she laid down to relax, I felt myself being pulled out from the darkness in a flash.
When my eyes came open, I found myself out of Bane, laying on the mat naked. She has finally calmed her temper, leaving me relieved... For now.
"Silly me. I almost allowed those fools to ruin our plans. Let them have all the fun they want, " Bane voiced within, in her mischievous tone.
"They won't know what hit them very soon." She cackled devilishly, leaving me wondering what she has planned for Argon and Estelle.
.
Night came. I laid on the mat, curling up in pain. I hadn’t eaten anything since morning, and it was starting to take its toll.
My stomach had been growling for a while, making me bite my clothes just to have something grinding between my teeth.
The only thing I could drink was water flowing from the small bathroom. I could still drink it, but what would I eat?
Memories from the past came flooding back. This was when the late Alpha was still alive. He made sure I was treated like his daughter, giving me whatever I wanted.
And Argon couldn’t go against his father’s will.
But when the Alpha died, Argon vowed to make my life miserable. I became his outlet for anger instead of being his Luna.
He didn’t show me any respect.
If it hadn’t been for Bane’s advice, I would have already signed the divorce papers and left this place far behind.
"I'm not needed here," I muttered, reminding myself of the bitter truth, while curling up on the mat.
Suddenly, I felt the presence of another wolf outside my room. Its aura was weak, but it filled my nostrils.
As I turned to the door...
"Luna... Luna, can you hear me?" the faint voice called from below.
Who was that?
Curious, I crawled toward the door, still hearing that faint voice calling my name.
"Luna, are you okay? Don’t speak, just knock, and I will know," the voice, a woman’s, sounded very worried.
Listening to her instructions, I carefully knocked to show that I heard her.
"Ah, thank the goddess," the joyous voice came through, making a smile appear on my face.
Who is this woman?
Why does she sound so familiar?
I wanted to ask her who she was, but then I saw something slide under the door.
"Here, take this. It's the best I could get," she said, forcing a towel into my room, which contained something.
Before I could grab the towel and see what was inside, the smell of bread wafted into my nose, reminding me of my hunger.
"Bread?" I said, quickly grabbing the towel.
Indeed, there was bread wrapped in the towel. Just two pieces, enough to slip through the small gap under the door.
I quickly picked it up and started eating ravenously, easing the hunger that had been tormenting me since morning.
"I'll try to find more food for you around midnight. There are some leftovers in the kitchen. I'll try to get them without anyone seeing, okay?" she promised.
This was so touching to my heart.
So, there was someone who cared about me in this mansion? I thought I was alone.
I felt my eyes welling up as I ate the bread slowly, nodding at the promise of my savior outside the door.
"Okay," I answered, so she knew I heard her.
I heard her sigh in relief, and she pulled the towel back, repeating her promise before leaving.
I stayed near the door, kneeling, and slowly chewing the bread she had given me.
I knew she was one of the servants who ignored the risk of getting caught and came to help me.
Even though the bread wasn't enough, she still saved me from hunger.
---
Finally, midnight came. There was no noise coming from the corridor outside the room. I sat near the door, patiently waiting for the maid to return as promised.
My stomach growled again, making me bite my nails in worry.
"What if she gets caught? What if she forgot?" I asked, beginning to worry for both the servant and myself.
"I don't think she'll come back," I sighed, crawling away from the door.
Suddenly, that familiar smell returned, entering my nostrils.
It’s her!
Quickly, I ran back to the door and saw a shadow beneath it.
That’s when her voice sounded again, just like before. "Luna, are you awake?"
"Yes, I am," I whispered back, feeling so happy.
But all my joy shattered when the servant revealed, "Sorry, Luna. I couldn’t get anything for you. The guards are standing in front of the kitchen."
My heart skipped for a second when I heard how she spoke with such sadness.
"I thought I could sneak in and out without them noticing, but they caught me with food, and I had to lie about being hungry. They wouldn’t let me take it anywhere. I’m so sorry," she pleaded.
It was clear from her voice that she felt disappointed.
I felt sympathetic towards her, knowing the risks she took for me. But she failed.
"But don’t worry. I know you’ll be out soon. I’ll find a way to get into your room tomorrow morning. I’ll bring food with me. Please hang on until then, Luna," she promised.
"I understand. Thank you," I appreciated, to make her feel better.
Her voice sounded relieved after I said thank you. That also pleased my heart, knowing someone was supporting me.
"What’s your name?" I asked.
"Tania. My name is Tania," she replied.
"Tania?" I said, recognizing her.
She was the same servant who defended me when Estelle tried to frame me for stealing her gold necklace.
"It’s you. I never got to thank you before. Uh... thank you," I said, hearing Tania laugh softly from the other side.
That brought peace to my heart, knowing I had someone who has my back.
Tania and I chatted a bit, which lightened our mood.
She then comforted me, making a promise I never expected from anyone.
"Alpha and the others might have rejected you, but I haven’t. I know you only as my Luna, not Estelle. I, Tania, promise to serve only you, Luna Brielle. You are still my Luna. You have my word," she vowed.
This gave me topped the strength I had left within. I smiled and appreciated her for her support.
However, our moment was interrupted when the sound of a guard came.
"HEY! WHO'S THERE?!"
"Luna, I have to go," Tania panicked and ran off.
I was alone again, but this time, I didn’t feel it that much.
I stood up and walked toward the small window, thinking about Argon and Estelle.
"Three months. In these three months, many changes will take place. I’ll make both of you regret ever crossing our path," I promised.
