"Congratulations, Ebony," One of the girls from the choir said. We had just finished choir practice and the auditions, and I was chosen for a solo. 

Some girls were happy for me, but others said I only got it because I was Keith's Mate. It wasn't the first time I had been chosen for a solo, but that didn't matter to them.
