How could this be happening?

Miller was by my side the second that Max was dragged away from my sight. I couldn't help but feel a strange overwhelming feeling of relief watching over me from my head to my toes. Surely, I should feel like my heart had been ripped out of my body since the bond with Max has been broken, I never would have imagined that he would hurt me that way.
