“Did you hear that?” I whispered to Janis. 

She stared at me as if I had grown two heads. “Hear what?” 

Another muffled groan sounded.

“This. Someone groaned!” I pointed. 

“Girl, you are imagining,” Janis said, shaking her head. “There’s no one in this house. I think you better leave. I'll contact Martha and let her know about you, or you can call her and inform her you came here but found no one.”
