Violet POV

A gasp left my throat when I looked at Emily’s brown wolf. She had alpha blood and her wolf was taller than most of the female wolves. I knew Billy would be no match for her. Panic rolled down my shoulders and spine when she dipped her head low and snarled at Billy. 

I could sense Billy’s fear as he stepped back from Martha’s limp body and came to stand with me. Despite his fear of Emily's wolf, Billy surprised me by standing by my side, as if ready to shield me ...
