Nolan woke slowly, his senses gradually coming back to him. He felt a warmth at his side, and as he opened his eyes, he saw Layla's sleeping form, curled up against him.

 He couldn't help but smile as he gazed at her peaceful face. But then, he felt something shift, and he realized that her arm was wrapped around his waist. He froze, unsure of what to do. Should he pull away, or should he let her sleep? He didn't want to wake her, but he also felt a little awkward.
