Zoie didn’t realize she had fallen asleep. She was trying her best to stay awake, not wanting to miss her chance to say goodbye to Asher. But when she opened her eyes next, she saw that Asher was already gone from her bed. She quickly got up to check her phone and sure enough, it was 7.30 AM.
