"Nic?" I gasped, startled. "What are you doing here?"

My eyes darted around the room, taking note of the fact that Jenn and her assistant were no longer there.

"Beta Levi called me," he proclaimed as he inched closer. "He told me you needed some assistance in picking the perfect dress for the ball."
