“Where am I?” I asked, my voice coming out in a strained whisper as I slowly parted my lips. Camilla was by my side, supporting me.

I kept drawing in deep breaths, too afraid to open my eyes for fear that the pain might intensify. I wanted to flinch but fought to remain still.
