Scarlett

I turned to leave, but before I could make it to the door, a weak voice called out to me, stopping me in my tracks.

“Scarlett…”

The sound of my name from his lips sent a shiver down my spine. I froze, my hand hovering over the doorknob, unable to move forward or turn back.

“Who… who are you leaving him for?” he rasped, his voice barely above a whisper, broken and raw with emotion.
