Scarlett faced the mirror, gazing at her reflection in the wine red silk dress designated for the maid of honour. It had become more constricting than when she last put it on, which was a fortnight ago. She did not gain any additional weight, yet a baby was developing inside her, and it increased in size with each passing day.
