Aria's POV

Two healers rushed in, carrying a man. Blood dripped from his arm, soaking his shirt. He was gasping, and struggling to breathe.

My stomach clenched. Something was wrong.

He looked worse than someone who had just been injured in a fight. His body shook violently, his skin was pale, and sweat poured from his face like someone who had a high fever.

Then someone spoke the words that made my heart drop.

“Vampire bite.”
