Just as I was settling back against the pillows, Kaelon's phone buzzed on the nightstand, snapping me out of my thoughts. I grabbed it, seeing Evelyn’s name flash across the screen.

He returned about then and took the call. He placed the call on speaker and left the phone on the lampstand so he could feed me to the glass of cool water.

“Hello, Evelyn. What’s up?"
