(Olivia's POV)

I saw that Alexander hadn't noticed I was awake. Moving as quietly as possible, I slipped out of bed on bare feet.

The marble floor was cold against my skin as I crept toward the door. My heart pounded so loudly I was sure he would hear it.

When I reached the door, I twisted the brass lock carefully. But no matter how hard I tried, the door wouldn't budge.
