"What a touching performance, Alexander," Mrs. Reynolds sneered. With a flick of her wrist, she turned the branding iron back toward Olivia.

Alexander jerked his head up, his pupils trembling. "What are you doing? I'm on my knees! I gave you the territory you wanted!"
